Another engine keeps blowing thread
Strong05 replied to Strong05's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Thanks guys I will try that. I'm assuming the slow throttle is to prevent from over revving the engine? What is the redline rpm for this motor? (I should probably just look at the manual for this...) -
Another engine keeps blowing thread
Strong05 replied to Strong05's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
I only know of the automatic propeller pitch switch. I did not think it was a governor/engine speed limiter. Is there another switch I'm missing? I put it in the down (back) position and note auto pitch movement on the pitch indicator before takeoff. I'm cautious with the throttle so as to not over rev the engine and I try to allow the auto pitch to keep up with engine load. -
I've read several forum posts on this and tried everything. Motor still blows shortly after takeoff with temps all in the green (between the markers) and revs at or below 2,500 (rpm control in auto). What's the trick to keep this thing from grenading like a blown honda motor? Thanks for any help!

Thanks gents!

rrohde, Question for you regarding the base: If I purchase the base and TMW adapter to use with it, will the computer/DCS see the VKB base with TMW stick as a new controller or as the same TMW stick? I only ask because having to reprogram everything in dcs for a new base would be a major pita. Thanks, Sorta

I would like this to give to my brother. His HOTAS is broken and he can't afford a new one currently. Thanks!

Awesome! Thanks Polaris, I didn't know you could rename the modifier to whatever you wanted. Again much thanks for your hard work! Brad -

Yup I also have the latest drivers (downloaded and installed this week from the site). Again for whatever reason it calls the pinky lever button 4 and has a different name for my joystick on the .lua files. Not a huge deal just strange that it wasn't as simple for me as others. -

Posted under the wrong thread originally: Thanks a ton Polaris! Just switched to the Warthog and this has saved me hours in configuration time. Something I did notice though, my joystick and throttle had a different name. I have found this to be associated with the drivers in the past on my X52 (the name changes based on driver version) so I'm wondering if you have the latest drivers installed? The name for the pinky lever seems to have also changed which required me to go back through and re-assign all of the modified button commands. Overall though huge props for the work well done, I especially like the layout figures with button assignments! Cheers, Brad -

X52 pro x and y axis range of motion

disregard... after messing with it further I've concluded that the X-52 is just a pos and wildly inconsistent as to how the software see's the stops... wonder if the magnet mod helps? -
X52 pro x and y axis range of motion
Strong05 replied to Strong05's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Jimcarrel, thanks for the quick response! I just recently put new drivers on, and it's been doing this since I got the joystick and started playing DCS (so multiple drivers, and a fresh load of windows with no affect). It's not hardware, as within the windows joy stick settings you can see a range of motion very close to 1:1. So it's gotta be something with how DCS is interpreting the inputs from the drivers or something. Cheers, Brad -
Hi all, I have noticed that in the windows controller properties for my x52 pro that it shows a nearly 1 to 1 ratio of movement to the controller with there only being maybe a couple milometers worth of movement left in any direction that don't result in an input change (hardware hasn't hit the stop but the software registers the joystick at the stop). This seems to occur for both the x and y axis, regardless of motion direction (coupled vs uncoupled). My main problem is that in DCS this problem is exascerbated to the point where only 50-75% input will resgister as full inputs in DCS for both axis. Is there any solution for this? My guess is software but I've scoured the internet and this forum and haven't found anything to help. Oh and changing the curves in DCS doesn't address the problem, that just manipulates how the registered inputs are utilized (in other words I want close to 1:1 movement ratio of input from joystick to game and I'm currently getting 2:1 and changing the curves have 0 effect on the ratio). Thanks in advance for any help! Brad

Updated X52 Pro drivers and...
Strong05 replied to Strong05's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks MadDog!!! You are officially a life saver! I ended up just renaming the old file names and that seems to have worked (versus copy pasting the contents). Brad -
All of my profiles have reverted to the default ones. I have saved profiles for each aircraft and when I load them nothing is retained from before I updated X52 pro drivers. What gives, did I screw something up? This is really annoying as it takes a lot of time to create good profiles. Thanks in advance for any help! Brad

What's the app?

I'm having trouble with this too. One of the updates a while back prevents me from alt-tabbing out to change TS3 channels. Is there an overlay solution for this, or some other solution I'm not aware of? Thanks in advance for any help! Brad

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?

Yes, GTX 780 Asus Overclock edition. -
1.2.7 won't let me load or save controller profiles
Strong05 replied to Strong05's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
Got it figured out. You have to click on the control column first to activate or select the control then the save and load options light up. On another note I also noticed that if you load a profile from another a/c that it will grey out those control options that are not available for the aircraft you pulled the control configuration file from. -

Strong05 replied to Strong05's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
Correct. However it won't let me save when I'm not in game either. -
