  1. The 109 G-10 and onwards has excellent rear visibility thanks to the Galland/Erla clear-view canopy.
  2. Guys, I've said this before. Please stop arguing over "peices of garbage" and "bricks with wings". This is just a poll! You are free to express your opinions, but don't make assumptions unless you have definitive evidence. (The hosrepower of X is X, and the airspeed is X, therefore X will happen.)
  3. Guys, lets not argue here. Everyone is allowed their opinions. Stick to debating the Kurfurst against the Dora, not whether the 109 is a "piece of garbage" (which it probably isn't.)
  4. But why would the RAF want to waste perfectly good sights that were a lot better than the current static gunsights? PS I think the Spit should get the Mk. II Gyro sight as the Mustang and Dora have gyro sights already in DCS so shouldn't the Spit have it too? It still is historically accurate.
  5. So in 1944 they built 2948 gunsights. And in 1944 they built approx. 2160 Spitfire IX's. Thats more than enough sights for the Spits, and quite a few left over for other types. (Tempest/Typhoon)
  6. I disagree about the GGS. It was standard from early 1944 on. But is this the Merlin 63 or 66. I'm hoping for a 63, but it appears not? The 66 was actually the most used engine in the Mark IX. From Wikipedia Whatever. I guess we'll have to wait and see. flare
  7. YES! Someone make a server for this. Doras fighting Eagles? Bring it on. (And I'll be on the WWII side.) flare
  8. Yes, but the LF Mk. IX had a bubble top and clipped wings. I'd prefer the round winged high back Spitfire with the Merlin 63 so I can dish it out with the Jerries at Angels 30. flare
  9. I have had some questions about aircraft variants. First, we are getting the Spitfire Mk. IX. Will this be the LF Mk. IX with the clipped wings or with the regular rounded wingtips? Which wing type will it have? The C wing with 2x 20mm w/120rpg and the 4x .303 Brownings? Or the E wing with the 2x 20mm and 2x .50 Brownings? Also, which version of the Merlin engine will this Spitfire have? The 60, 63 or 66? The 63 was a better engine as it had an improved carburettor, and the 66 better still. (from Wikipedia) We should probably get the 63 or 66, as they are better suited to the 1944 time period.I hope we are getting the high-backed version with the Malcolm Hood type canopy and rounded wings as VEAO's Mk. XIV will be the clipped wing bubble canopy version (which is too bad as the Mk. XIV with the high back is my favourite Spitfire). Will we get the Gyro gunsight Mk. II? The Spitfire did have it from early 1944 and on, and it is the American K-14 in the P-51 is the exact same sight, just the American copy version, so it should be easy to implement. And finally, what tail type will the DCS Mk. IX be? The early or the more pointed late version? Sorry for all these questions, but the Spitfire is my favourite aircraft, and I would really like to know what variant of the Mk. IX we are getting. Thanks flare

  11. Here's mine. flare
  12. Hi there. This tread probably won't get much attention knowing that everyone is caught up in the July updates, but I'd like to know which aircraft you would rather fly in combat, the Fw. 190 D-9, or the Bf. 109 K-4. What do you like and dislike about each aircraft, and why? flare PS: this may or may not influence my rewards selection!:)
  13. THANK YOU Now I can fly this beauty. flare
  14. Thank you SOOO much ED. You have listened to our comments. Much appreciation for you r hard work. Now I can have my Spitfire! Thanks flare
  15. What I don't understand is why ED can not give backers a choice of their aircraft. They think they can make more money if they give out the P-51 which most people already have, or just aren't interested in it (me) that means they can make more money from us buying all the other modules at full price. One thing is for sure, if ED doesn't change the reward system, they've lost a valued customer in me. The infrastructure to make the selections is there, at this page now just let us use this page (reworked to have the correct number of aircraft, 1 for $20, 2 for $40, etc . . .) to CHOOSE which aircraft we would like to select, even if it means waitng for a while. If ED did this, I'd be able to wait for the Spitfire, which is what I really backed for, easily because I'd have purchased the other modules as they come out. (Dora, 109) Please give this a thought ED. You will LOSE valuable customers if you keep this system, so please give us a choice in our aircraft. Thanks flare
  16. My thoughts Ok. Here are my thoughts on this announcement. I think the decision to "force" us to a certain aircraft is a poorly thought out decision. I mean, now the DCS community is going to be overloaded with P-51 keys, which many of us already have. If anyone doesn't already have it, it's because they're not interested in flying it. I personally backed at a level where the only plane I did not select was the P-51, and I was really looking forward to the Spitfire. Why can't ED change the backer reward selection page here to include the correct amount of aircraft for the amount backed, 1 for $20, 2 for $40, 3 for $60, etc. I assume this would not be a financial setback for ED because we are still only getting 1/2/3 of the six aircraft. In fact, ED might even make more money now instead of later, because many people would select aircraft to be released at a later date, and then buy the Dora or another soon to be released aircraft now. Wouldn't this give ED more money for the dev costs of the yet to be developed aircraft such as the Spitfire/P47 instead of receiving the money after? I really appreciate the effort ED has put into the salvaging of DCS: WWII, but they could have given a bit more thought into the rewards. Giving us keys to aircraft that we don't want isn't that smart. I backed this project to fly the Spitfire, not the Mustang, which I could have bought ages ago. And now, who will want the Mustang in exchange of a Spitfire? I don't know of anyone who would want it. And the street value of the P-51 will go WAY down after this. TL; DR: I think that if ED did one small change, and that is to retain the amount of aircraft that we receive, but allow us to choose those 1/2/3/more aircraft, the community would greatly appreciate it, and ED would not lose that much profits compared to the current system. Please, let me have my Spitfire. I don't care about the wait time. Just that the community gets to receive the aircraft that they really want. Thank you. Sincerely flare2000x
  17. IL-2 1946  And I also just got FC3, so, lots of that I guess. flare
  18. The Su-27 pilot was just the "average" AI. Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to do less mouse movements next time. Again, thanks for the feedback. I'll try less mouse movements next time. I use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit my videos. flare
  19. A DCS: Flaming Cliffs 3 movie. This is my first movie made using lots of different camera angles and music. (Still ingame sound though). I hope you like it! flare
  20. Focke-Wulf. The second most beautiful aircraft of WWII (after the Spitfire). And also, I don't actually own the '51 yet.
  21. A quick comparison between the P-51D and the Fw-190D9 (from this forum post here). As you can see, the two aircraft are relatively equal.
  22. I'll take ~300 awesome aircraft, even if it's only at, say, FC3 level (with 6DOF cockpits). flare
  23. Nice effort! Too bad I don't own the '51. Maybe I'll use these on the TF-51! flare
  24. I just bought FC3 on steam yesterday evening, no complaints so far! Go ahead and buy it mate! Cheers, flare
