There are pros and cons with the current method of plane select. Pros 1. Mission makers can balance the amount of each aircraft and aircraft per base available historically or for optimal gameplay. 2. If the server is full, there are an equal amount of planes per side. Cons: 1. You might not get to fly the plane or side you want if they are already taken/full. 2. Gathering large forces to spawn in with at one base might be hard if some planes are not available or taken. Overall I prefer your suggestion, having the "IL2 Style" spawn system instead of the current list of planes.

Tracer: There is one in-game, you can add it in the Bf. 109K4.lua, but no other way yet. WWII planes: For sure from ED: Spitfire IX, P-47D, Me 262. Also, VEAO is doing a P-40F, Spitfire XIV, F8F Bearcat, and many others, but EVENTUALLY, not all that soon. Flare

Go for the 109! Funnest WWII bird (until the Spitfire comes out!) and WWII multiplayer is very fun.

Someone wanted to make a poll for what should come after the Europe 1944 theatre in DCS. So I'm going ahead and making it. There was a huge variety of planes in other theatres as well, think MTO, P-40, P39, Wildcat/Martlet, Hurricanes, Spitfires, Beaufighters/Beauforts, G.50, CR42, MC200, MC202, Re 2000, Bf 109E/F/G, Ju-88, SM79, Br20, the MTO is a very interesting theatre and I think it would be very fun in the DCS environment. But this is a little :poster_offtopic: Just saying, don't go saying "only area" when there are possibilities that there are others. Flare

WWII. I love the props, and the skill needed to fight the planes without fancy guided weapons. You've just got guns. And they look so nice . . . . Flare

DCS: world and DCS: WWII are the same product. There is no "DCS: WWII" anymore as a standalone product, all the modules just plug in to DCS world as they do now. Flare

Three lakes map (Drei Schwiene?) Is good for action on DoW server. If you ever see it on then hop in! Also the ACG server has flights of AI bombers of thats your thing (but you have to fly German planes to shoot at them!) Flare

Flak 88! But more seriously, I think that WWII AI ground units like tanks/landing craft/ships/trucks are important, but even more important are the buildings and objects. We need tents, dispersal huts, control towers, oil bins, WINDSOCKS, the metal tracking that they placed on runways, barbed wire, sandbags, bunkers, iron hedgehogs, the list goes on and on . . . flare EDIT: We need lots of different kinds of AA guns, heavy ones like the 88 (and british/american equivalents), light ones like 20mm autocannons, and medium ones like the 40mm Bofors! The bofors was one of the most iconic weapons in WWII and it was used by all sides!

Just had a blast flying the Dora in the mission where there are landing craft going for points Alpha, Bravo and Charlie, I forget what it is called, and got my first online A2A kill! I dogfought with a few Ponies for quite a long time, 15 minutes at least, and finally the one that I had hit with a few 20mm shells went down! Thank you DoW for hosting this awesome server. Kills are sure harder to get in DCS than in CloD! flare
