  1. The issue reappears if a activate the Helipad_Cargos_Racegates_Hospital mod in JSGME it seems...
  2. +1. Renamed (did a backup) of my DCS saved game file and it worked. Anyone knows what's causing this yet ?
  3. Not sure what you are asking about here. FC3 already works with DCS 2.0 and 1.5. The F15 got a new advanced flight model a while ago. No clickable cockpit.
  4. DCS Beaufort Sea. Alaska, Northwestern Territories in Canada, Northern Russia all the way to Tiksi air base. Complete with better winter weather effects and tactical ski-doos and dog sleds added to CA. Would be a perfect settings for alot of DCS modules ( Canadian CF-18, Alaska F15s, Russian fighters etc)
  5. Can you tell us how you did please ?
  6. It would also be nice to have more civilian AI models of GA aircrafts in sim. Right now my virtual squadron has to use tankers to simulate intercepting airliners. It would be nice to simulate an environment were hostilities haven't reach the point where the airspace has been completely blocked to civilian traffic, both commercial and GA.
  7. Why not something as a cessna L-19 ? People could use them as GA aircrafts, or they could be used as forward air control/ target designating like they were used in Vietnam for example. Some of them were even fitted with rocket launchers (mainly phosporus rockets for target designation) and small bombs !
  8. Just experienced the issue with the 3 fuel tanks loaded. Impossible to get airborn; aircraft pull HARD to the right, try to compensate and ground loop to the left every time. I did a few test after, and I feel like people saying we should ''fly the airplane'' or ''compensate for it'' or that it is just ''the crosswind'' haven't tried taking off with a full payload of 3 fuel tanks. The weird tendency to drift on takeoff is there on lighter payloads, but manageable to an extent. With 3 fuel tanks, the problem is on a whole other level. I have done tests with different payloads after, and I have to say this drawing is right on. Wind or no wind, good luck trying to take off with 3 tanks. Like it was mentioned, your only chance it to put your stick full back for most of your takeoff run and correct the slight tendency to drift off that still can be felt by moving it left or right. Any correction with the rudder pedals will likely result in you losing control.
  9. :)
  10. I would definitely get rudder pedals, and if you want to fly helos it's a definit must. Yes modern jets still have rudder pedals. I don't think you need to spend more than 100$ on them tho. I would however not cheap out on your HOTAS. I have had tons of cheap hotas in the past (logitech, saitek etc) and after getting my thrustmaster warthog I felt bad about how much I have been missing out. Sure the warthog is very expensive but it is a serious tool that will last and it is vastly superior to most products on the market. My saitek x52 only lasted about 2 years, and my friends x55 has buttons not working after only a few weeks of use. And I know numerous guys in my virtual squadron who've had problem with saitek. I would stay away from them. And for the learning to fly part of your question, I'd suggest joining a club / virtual squadron. Most of those units have people, often with real life experience, willing to give you a tremendous amount of time to get you where you want to be in terms of virtual flying. Try to find one in your time zone and I am sure people will be more than happy to give you a hand. If you can, I'd avoid those that are too focused on their little rank structure and all that jazz; find those that have knowledgeable but humble people. For example, my unit (5th Virtual Wing of Canada) usually fly on Mondays and Wednesdays night. Mondays are usually devoted for training and Wednesday for events. On training night, different flights on different aircraft take off and try to accomplish different training objectives. on Wednesday we try to run a mission made by the community or we come up with our own scenarios. On some occasion, we partake in bigger events involving other squadrons. Virtual Squadrons often form partnership between each other. New people like you often come up to us and they usually have for objective to be able to lead a flight on a Wednesday or to be able to take part in our next big event with another squadron. We often have people spectating and I don't think anyone would oppose to that. But don't be afraid to participate; it might be intimidating at first but DCS is probably one of the most welcoming gaming community out there.
  11. I have this problem even when myself or the contact are not maneuvering at all. Everytime I lock a target, it drops a few sweeps later. Even if its a giant tanker tanker in front of me in clear sky at small range and aspect. Regardless of range, speed, aspect, countermeasures or anything, the targets I lock just drop after a few sweeps, afterwich the antenna elevation resets under the target, effectively wiping everything off my scope.
  12. It would be nice to get rid of the flight path and sliders system. On the military simulators I trained on, you directly enter values in altitude, speed and heading boxes and press enter. Then the aircraft follow those parameters. Makes it alot simplier to control and would make it much easier to recreate some scenarios. It would also make it possible to turn DCS into a AWACS/GCI simulator and practice close control and intercept geometry (with a bearing and range line that displays hdg and range information right next to the cursor, as opposed to the current ''ruler'' tool).
  13. Yes. It would be nice to finally get rid of the Teamspeak +ARIES or Univers Radio combo. Using those adds a lot to the sim but they are just not reliable enough and demand to be updated and fiddled around with all the time. The need to install 3rd party mods to bring voice comms to the sim has been the source of so many headaches for my squadron. We are in great need a simpler solution integrated in the sim and supported by ED in my opinion.
  14. yea right ? I mean if anything we should get it before everybody ?!
  15. Merci beaucoup ! :)
  16. I have the access violation error as well
  17. 1.5.1 and 1.2 I use both 1.5.1beta and 1.2 versions of DCS (1.5 because of better performances in single player and 1.2 for multiplayer since we need things like Universal Radios and LotAtc to work). Since the last update I have this issue where I can only activate the MiG-21 on either 1.5.1 or 1.2.16 (not both). I know you have added 5 activations to everyone a few days ago but I already spent them trying to make this module to work properly on both versions of the game. If I activate the module in 1.5.1beta for example, I always get an annoying starforce protection pop up when I try to launch 1.2.16 to play online with my friends. And of course if I try to activate it, starforce crashes and I can't use the Fishbed in 1.2.16. I can use the regedit fix and remove my activation and then activate it in 1.2.16 with no problem, but then 1.5.1beta is all screwed up in the same way. The MiG-21 used to be my favorite module but all this starforce hassle is really getting onto my nerves.
  18. Hi, Reinstalled ARIES recently and looks like the fix that was made for gossip box configurator isnt still part of the build that's downloadable on your website ? I had to come back on this forum and download it again to fix the crash related to the unit position / aerodrome in gossipbox configurator...
  19. 1. Here CHALICE is the ''crew'' or ''backend'' callsign of the AWACS. The aicraft itself and its pilot have a different callsign, or ''frontend'' callsign. 963rd AACS,Tinker AFB uses ''SHUCK'' as frontend callsign and CHALICE as crew callsign. The person using the CHALICE callsign here is a Weapon's director (WD).
  20. Is anyone able to trim this thing correctly ? It seems like it just can't be done. Looks like hitting the trim keys has to big of an incidence on the trim of the aircraft, which makes it close to impossible to find a sweet spot to maintain a specific altitude or vertical speed... Is this a bug ?
  21. Anything planned for us pseudocontrollers ? Hi, I know that DCS 2 will include several improvements to the map/F10 view. I would like to know if anything is into works regarding stuff that would help players play the role of ATC/GCI/AWACS during online play. I think it would be nice to be able to display info beside the "tracks" on the map such as callsign, altitude and even implement squawk codes. It would also be nice to have a draw tool in the map view and the mission editor to be able to draw airspace overlays for example. If anything, a easier way to draw a bearing and range line on the map during play would be much appreciated. The current ruler tool is simply not practical when you are trying to shoot multiple BRAA and bullseye calls to different flights. I have some real world experience and would love to help if need be. Thank you !
  22. Thank you sir :)
  23. OK I think I have identified the source of the problem: It has something to do with the ''aerodrome location'' in the Gossip Box configurator: If Lochini is selected for the Gossip Box user, it makes everybody else's TS crash once he enters the game and try to talk to people / or people other players try to transmit on his freq. Also, the ''aerodrome location'' selection button appears to be broken in the configurator. Selecting many of the aerodrome choices presented when selecting that option makes Gossip Box configurator crash. (exemple Vaziani). If Batumi is selected, and aircraft are close enough to the station, everything works like it is supposed to be. Activating the Game master / removing comms deterioration makes it possible to use gossip box on the whole map when it is set to Batumi without any issue.
  24. gotcha
