  1. Helicopters are very difficult target for radar guided missiles in DCS.
  2. F18 has the best performing AIM7 in DCS... AIM7M on F14 cannot even match the performance of AIM7F on F15C... Comparing AIM7M on F14 with anything on F18 makes me want to cry... I like F14 so much. But I play competitive PVP exclusively, the missile performance issue on F14 is keeping me away from it when enemy resistance is high...
  3. 这个你应该去F18的论坛里跟他们反映一下
  4. Maybe HB AIM7M is going after chaffs too easily compared to ED ones. I wonder if the newly acquired missile guidance API can allow HB to improve AIM7M performance as well?
  5. Hi, I tested HB AIM7M performance and compared it to ED AIM7F on F15C and AIM7MH on F18 with a simple test. I set up a single AI fighter, random from SU27, SU33, Mig29, F14, F18 or F15, fly at M1.0 at 10000 feet. The AI fighter was set to CAP mission, evade threat. I set up my own aircraft, 11NM head to head, at M1.0 and at 10000 feet to the AI fighter. It is an F14B with 4xAIM7M or an F15C with 4xAIM7F or an F/A18C with 4xAIM7MH (loft disabled) I maintain air speed and altitude, STT the target, and launch one AIM7 at 9NM, repeat 10 times. The result is: HB F14B AIM7M in normal mode (ACM cover unflipped): 1/10 hit. Hit rate = 10% P-STT(PAL) HB F14B AIM7M in ACM mode (ACM cover flipped): 0/10 hit. Hit rate = 0% P-STT(PAL) ED F15C AIM7F: 8/10 hit, Hit rate = 80% ED F/A18C AIM7MH (no loft): 9/10 hit, hit rate = 90% After launch, I kept lower than the target and maintained lock for the entire time. I wonder why HB AIM7M perform so differently compared to ED AIM7F/MH? I mean no offense just wish to know 1) which one is more reasonable. 2) can we get access to ED ones on F14B just in case when we need them. For example in competitive PVP environment.
  6. Thanks. But that's too bad... It would be great if the AIM9 can be unslaved to the radar.
  7. I don't quite understand what you mean. Please don't side track the bug report.
  8. Hi, I wish to know, on F18, how can I cage AIM9 seeker head to the bore sight while maintaining STT on a target? I tried cage/uncage button and it didn't work. When I fired a AIM7 at a target, I wish to maintain STT on that target but I see a second target right in front of me so I wish to use AIM9 to attack that target. Can I "bore sight" the aim9 on F18? Thanks!
  9. Hi, good to know that. Thanks for the answer. Although it might be better if someone can tell me why when ACM cover is flipped it is much quicker for the system to launch a AIM7.
  10. Hi, not too close. If you lock a target 20 NM away. The max allowed steering error should be very small as there's barely enough rocket fuel for the missile to fly a direct interception course. When you are getting closer, for example to 10 NM. The max allowed steering error should be longer, and the time to impact if you fire now, for the AIM7 should be about 12 to 16 seconds. There's enough time for the missile to make the initial turn. If you try it on F15 or F/A-18, you will see that at 20 NM away from the target, the circle on the HUD representing the max allowed steering error is very small. As you approaching 10NM, the circle become larger and larger until it reaches maximal. You will see the same thing on F14 if you select AIM9. At 15NM head on, there is no circle in the VDI. But when you are getting closer, within 10NM, there will be a circle and expand until reaching maximal. However, when you select AIM7 on F14. The circle that representing the max allowed steering error is at the maximum when you are 20NM away from the target. And start shrinking when you are getting closer. When you reach 10NM head on, Vc = 1000 Knots. the circle is at smallest. Which I have difficulty understanding the logic. Therefore, I can imagine that this might actually be a bug. Dear developers, please have a check on it.
  11. Hi, is this a bug or this is intended. From various guide, either documents or videos. It says when ACM cover is closed, you need to pull and hold the trigger for 2-3 seconds to fire AIM7 or AIM54. However, in the game you just need a single short tap on the trigger, and AIM 7 or AIM54 with fire after a 2-3 seconds delay. Are all the guides wrong? Or is this a bug? And why there is a delay if it does not require holding the trigger?
  12. Hi, I wonder if this a bug or a feature. All missile steering cues are not working in ACM mode (with ACM cover open) All missile steering cue shows zero lead of the target in this mode.
  13. AIM7 max steering error circle size getting smaller when distance to target decreases. This behavior is opposite of what is on F15 or F18. Also is opposite of AIM9 on F14. Is this a bug?
  14. Please add a key bind so we can choose active or disable loft.
  15. I’m pretty sure this is a well known issue. ED needs to fix it.
  16. Any information on this? Do you think this is a bug? Switching between P-STT and PD-STT while nose is within 15~30 degree cone to target is fine, if outside 15~30 degree cone but still within radar gimbal limit you will lose lock. Is this a bug?
  17. Radar gimbal reset and lose of lock when switching between P-STT PD-STT is a serious problem in combat. I wish to know if this is a bug in the radar coding or it is intended. Thanks!
  18. 歼八F, the final version of J-8. Or the export version of J-8, which can use R73 and R27 missiles, but no one ever ordered.
  19. 轰六,if you dare to touch multi-crew bombers. Would be great to have a bomber in DCS.
  20. And F15E if you can find documents.
  21. 歼十, please~ 歼十一/十五 would be more popular amount the community since most people are looking forward to a high fidelity Su27/33.
  22. Thanks for directing me to the options. But it still cannot answer my first question. When switching between P-STT and PD-STT the nose of the aircraft must point to the target. Is it also true on the real F-14B?
