  1. ^^^ Final Countdown? Hopefully we'll hear an announcement soon - I really hope it's the F-14.
  2. Belgeode also check out Leatherneck Simulations area of the forum - their next project is strongly hinted to be the F-14 but it is unconfirmed at this point - see the 'interview' thread... one can hope!
  3. Along the lines of the above, once DCS has good naval ops and a few carrier capable aircraft, I'd love to see a Greenland-Iceland-UK (GIUK) Gap map - the Harpoon series had some wonderful scenarios in that region and it was the front line of the Cold War in the North Atlantic. Blue carriers and bases in Norway, Iceland and Scotland vs Red carriers and bases in Russia and above the arctic circle. It would be great...
  4. I too am worried - Rudel's post was awfully ominous...
  5. Fingers crossed that we're getting the Tomcat... It's far and away at the top of my wish list.
  6. Hi Nyt3Stalk3r, was something shown at VUAF? I checked out the stream but might have had the time wrong. Cheers
  7. Thanks for the info! I should have been more clear in my question - was referring to the placeholder sounds being updated to better ones per btd's comments earlier in the thread.
  8. Hi - just wondering if anyone knows if this issue has been resolved yet. I bought the Sabre in the latest flash sale and given the level of immersion that sounds provide, I am planning to wait until the issue is fixed before diving into the module. Thanks!
  9. This is a long term bug that has yet to be resolved/fixed.
  10. Greenland-Iceland-UK Gap - like in the old days of Harpoon...
  11. Agreed - if it's good (on par with an FC3 jet, including a flight model that reflects the variable geometry wings), I'll gladly pay.
  12. Agreed - anything you can share Nyt3Stalk3r?
  13. Anyone know if the AI landing bug is being addressed? It's still an issue in 1.2.10.
  14. Awesome news! Is your plan for the cockpit to be 6 DOF?
  15. Nyt3Stalk3r, Not sure if the below thread could be of any help from a modeling perspective (the person who made the model pops up on pg 4 of the thread), but I remember seeing this a couple years ago and being completely in awe. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=93978 Cheers, rag48
  16. Best of luck and looking forward to your module! Difficult to emphasize how great this will be, even if it's just FC3 level...
  17. Thanks so much for the help!
  18. Hello, I have two questions about the technique for landing the Su-33 on the carrier. It is my impression that the best way to line up for a perfect approach, on glideslope, is to 'fly' the two indicator circles on the HUD such that they are concentric (e.g. keep the smaller circle inside the larger circle). But when I do this well (even in version 1.2.8, where the changelog notes that there was an adjustment), I do not end up in the right spot - almost as if the system is not guiding me right onto the deck. Further, the two circles seem to diverge as a I get close to the ship. I remember back in the old days with lock on and the original flaming cliffs (granted they are light years behind today's product in terms of realism), I could pretty much fly the instruments in total darkness and land on the Kuz consistently - the circle and (I think ILS needles at the time) would guide me right onto the deck. I would like to be able to similarly land via instruments in FC3 at night and in bad weather - my questions are: 1) Am I using the right methodology to land (I wouldn't be surprised if I'm missing something)? 2) Is the system in FC3 designed to guide the plane right onto the deck, or just close enough to make a visual landing as straightforward as possible? Thanks in advance for the help, Rag48
