Colored_windshields mod-install question
GunSlingerAUS replied to Engage's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I tried installing this mod, and followed the readme, but couldn't get it to work. Is it compatible with 1.1.0.9? -

FYI - tried this mod with 1.1.0.9 and it killed my radio comms. Had to uninstall. -
Have created mission point via CDU - now what?

Wolf Rider, you're a legend! I'll check that track this weekend, thanks so much for taking the time to help out. -
Have created mission point via CDU - now what?
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Hmmm, I can't see any reference to 38T or 37T on this screen. Note that the instructions say to hit func 3 on UFC to get to waypoint mode, then I'm selecting waypoint from right MFD = the following screen is where I'm entering the CDU. -
Have created mission point via CDU - now what?
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Hey guys I've redone the mission, and used a startup checklist to ensure I did everything in the right order. Once airborne I inputted the CDU co-ords once again, using the very helpful step by step utm coordinate entry powerpoint available on these forums... and once again my new mission point was 380 miles away. I reinputted it again to make sure I had the right co-ords, and it was exactly the same. I've attached a new track, and would love to see where I'm going wrong - I followed the start up and CDU guides to the letter, yet it's still not working. cdu.trk -

Thank you so much for the comprehensive feedback guys - will re-run the mission tonight and upload another, slightly less hilarious, track for your approval -
Have created mission point via CDU - now what?
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I didn't think it was that bad, apart from forgetting to turn off the APU until I got to the runway :smartass: Seriously though, all systems were fired up without damage, and everything was in working order, right? How would that procedure have affected the next stage of finding a target after plugging in the CDU co-ordinates? Which brings me back to my original question - what did I do wrong after inputting the CDU data? Wolf Rider, I'm not sure what you mean by your feedback - should I redo the entire thing but just use the CDU side panel? Once I've done that, will I see a new markpoint on my TAD? p.s. Just to keep Lange_666 happy, I'll record another track following the standard start up procedure. -

Hey folks Anybody care to help this little old gunslinger? -
Hey folks I've learnt most of the basics, so now it's time to do the things that the training missions sadly don't yet teach - JTAC operations. I've been flying a user created mission where you need to input the JTAC waypoint via the CDU scratchpad. I've got up to the point where it's inputted, renamed, and I've switched over to mission instead of flight plan. Now what? I can see the new markpoint hovering in mid-air (I'd prefer it to be at ground level, but playing around with its altitude didn't seem to help), but I can't see it on my TAD, so I can't hook it and slave sensors to it. I've attached a trk file showing exactly where I get stuck in this process - any guidance would be greatly appreciated. cduinput.trk

This looks great, but very intimidating to implement. Might I suggest a new post listing exactly how to install, use and tweak the mod, in a step by step, easy to understand matter? I'd definitely use it if you did and I'm sure many others would too.

A bloody great idea - I'm surprised nothing like this exists already. -

Can't get TGP to look at TAD SPI

Thanks Crescendo - will be firing up my baby tonight, and will use your step by step guide to bust some tanks! Once that's solved, time to find a good JTAC guide ;) -
Can't get TGP to look at TAD SPI
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Bugs and Problems
Awesome advice, thanks guys - Kaiza, I wasn't aware that I could just use TMS aft long to make steerpoint SPI, so that'll come in handy! I'll fire up the mission again tomorrow and try your solutions. Once again, thank you so much for your help. -
Hey guys I'm trying to master the basics of weaponry delivery - after having read the manual and done all the training missions twice, I'm still struggling. Here's my latest issue. I'm trying to follow the procedure on page 508 of the manual, which describes how to use the TAD to set an SPI, then getting the TGP to focus on the SPI. Here's what happens when I do this (I'm flying the Weapons Training singleplayer mission included with the game, in the missions section): 1.) Active pause after waypoint 1, heading towards the soft targets waypoint 2. 2.) Turn off map on TAD, as I find it too cluttered with it enabled. 3.) Use throttle to slew TAD cursor over waypoint 2. 4.) Hold TMS UP LONG to set TAD cursor as SPI. 5.) Hold China Hat Forward Long to slave TGP to SPI. However, the TGP ends up looking miles away, up in the sky, rather than down on the ground at my SPI. I've attached my track file - any assistance would be hugely appreciated. I'm guessing there's a setting in my TAD that I haven't configured correctly... tad spi fail.trk

Absolutely amazing work. You seem to have got it to run without having the MFDs on screen as well? -
iControl DCS - Short Preview
GunSlingerAUS replied to Dodgeza's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Whoah, so we'll be able to have both MFDs, plus UFC, all running on a single iPad? Sounds like a definite buy for me if so. -
Is this the same Sentry who won our Lock On comp at games on net? If so, glad to see you're putting the stick and throttle to work! We'll have to fly online sometime pal, as I'm running the exact same HOTAS and could use some tips.

You're evil. Thanks to this post I blew AU$750 on an iPad here in Australia. But you're right, reading the A-10 manual on this thing is perfect; it looks stunning, and is so easy to find what you're looking for.

Excellent stuff mate - it's thanks to folks like you that folks like me can fly the DCS sims. -
Yep, I'm having the same issue. However, if I map TrackIR's center and pause functions directly to my G940 buttons, it works fine - the issue is only when TrackIR is mapped to keyboard.

Thanks Crash_Fistfight. May I ask: a) Do you use TrackIR and/or pedals? b) What do I do with the xml file in your attachment? -
