My 2nd review, this time for Internode
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Love to hear that I'm doing my (very small) part to help get the word out about this great piece of simming software. -

PC GAMEPLAY review -Feb 2009-

Sorry, but the excuse of not having enough time doesn't gel with me. If you're going to review a product that has taken a team of dedicated individuals several years of blood, sweat and tears to create, at least take the time to explore their software thoroughly. Anything less is a disservice to the amazing minds behind today's games. -
Hey folks It took a while to get posted, but here it is, my 2nd review of DCS BS for another Aussie gaming website: http://games.on.net/article/4877/DCS_Black_Shark_PC_Review Pretty much the same review as the one I wrote for IGN, but reworded. Cheers! Gun

Hey guys I've just posted my IGN review of this exquisite game. It'd be great to see lots of comments at the end of the review, proving to my editors that simming is alive and well, and worthy of IGN coverage :smilewink: And please go easy on me - I'm an experienced simmer, but this game and its systems are so insanely deep that it's inevitable to make a mistake or two. Head over to here to check out my thoughts on DCS: Black Shark.

Have you also installed the Vista Service Pack? I'm running 64-bit Vista Ultimate with no problems, and as evidenced all over these forums, the OS works fine with Black Shark. One more thing - did you ensure you used the 64-bit drivers for your hardware, and not the 32-bit version? They're very different.
-
If it's a new install, it sounds like you haven't installed new drivers for all your hardware. After a clean OS install, make sure you reinstall drivers for the following, where appropriate: Motherboard chipset Graphics card Sound card Network card If you skip any of these, get ready for bad frames... especially motherboard and Graphics drivers.

Sim-mod A-10 Problems - report here
GunSlingerAUS replied to SuperKungFu's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Ok, think this is a different problem - I can't get it to install at all! I've uninstalled all LOMAC mods using Modman, copied original meinit back into place, and then installed the A-10. But there's no sign of the A-10 meinit file in the ME folder, and when I start the game there's no shiny new A-10 model =( Btw - i'm using Vista... plz don't tell me this is the prob! -

Ok, I got an email from support, which says: "Your new serial number is listed on the site under your account. It is colored in yellow and published right after Flaming Cliffs section in Downloads." I've scoured all sections of the site and can't seem to find what they're referring to? Any ideas? -

Bump! I'm hankering to play LOMAC! -
Hey guys I emailed the dedicated authorisation email address 2 days ago, and haven't had a reply? I've got the problem of Vista not working with the registry backup option that worked so well in XP, and thus can't play my beloved LOMAC anymore.

X-52 Pro Profile - anybody got one?
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Unfortunately the old profile doesn't work with the pro, but it can be manually converted. It's a good start. -

You are an absolute frickin' legend. Thanks so much for taking the time to make that post. I'll try out your settings in a couple of days - can i ask if the profile you've posted is for the X52 or the X52 Pro? -
X-52 Pro Profile - anybody got one?
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Ok, this is proving to be harder than expected. I'm stuck on configuring the mouse thumb stick on the throttle - can somebody please give me step by step instructions on how to do this? -

Awesome, thanks guys. Looking forward to spending my Sunday arvo figuring this stuff out. -
Hi guys I'm the proud new owner of the X-52 Pro, and am chasing existing profiles. I'm happy to tweak it to fit my preferences, but I'm having issues with getting certain things to work the way I want them to: Throttle slider - set to zoom on Optical camera Mouse thumb stick - set to guide Optical/Mav camera 2 x Rotating silver wheel things on Throttle - set to trim roll and pitch wheel on front of throttle - set to ??? I've got TrackIR, so would prefer profiles set up with that in mind, but I'm really just chasing a profile that does the above. Hope y'all can help!

Black Sea Operations 30 Mission F-15 Campaign Taster.
GunSlingerAUS replied to DPS's topic in User Created Missions General
I've flown halfway through Tartar and have to say it's one of the best LOMAC campaigns I've ever played. Love the way you ease us into the basics, followed by the heavy stuff. Thanks to you, I completed my first ever Air Refuelling, a moment I won't soon forget. For LOMAC fans everywhere, I beg you not to give up the good work! -
Rhen - thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't fix my problem. Guys, I've made a new post in a more used section of the NVIDIA forums - please post your issues here http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=25040
-
As a matter of fact, we will - provided the devs are ok with it. Sending you a PM now.

Thanks guys, we've been contacted by the team, and look forward to delivering some extensive BS coverage in the future!

Greetings I'm the Editor in Chief for IGN's Aussie branch, and have been trying to make contact with the developers of Black Shark. Alas, I haven't had a reply to my emails. I'm hoping it's more of a language issue than flat out ignoring us (we'd like to do some stories on Black Shark), hence my post to the English speaking forums. If anybody can help put me in touch with the developers, please contact me at XXXXX.

But I don't want to stop using shadows - when I pay AU$1100 I want ALL the eye candy!

As the owner of a brand new NVIDIA 8800GTX, which only has 2 publicly released drivers, this issue is a major problem - I get the full black appearance with both sets of drivers. It's not possible for me to use an older set of drivers, as these won't work with the new 8800GTX. The drivers sets are: 97.02 97.44 Is there anyway around this issue other than waiting for NVIDIA to fix the problem in their drivers?
