  1. CALLING VAICOM PRO EXPERTS! I'm willing to donate a new aircraft, campaign or map to anybody who can spend s0me time with me on VOIP to get VAICOM Pro and its modules all working smoothly Hey folks So I've just spent a rather large sum of money on a new High End rig so I can run DCS F14, but I'm very new to the advanced aircraft in DCS, including how to operate the radios, and also how to operate VAICOM with them. I've read the VAICOM manuals, and there are several steps that aren't clear to a noobie - such as: - Which radios communicate with which AI entities such as wingmen, Jester, ATC, etc - How do I map my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS to the correct PTT buttons, including which DCS keymaps do I need to change - how do I get AIRIO to work properly (NFI what "Follow the regular FINISH steps (see page 30) to update your VA profile with the new keyword" means, even after reading the manual.) I've already spent hours trying to configure this to no avail, but I think I could get it all going smoothly if somebody spent an hour or so with me on VOIP talking me through the setup process. I think I've installed the three VAICOM modules correctly, and registered the licenses, so it's just a matter of changing the settings. As mentioned, I'm willing to donate a new aircraft, campaign or map to anybody who can spend some time with me on VOIP to get this all working smoothly. I think this would be far more efficient than trying to muddle my way through it all. If you're keen to help this beginner out, please PM me. Note that I live in Melbourne, Australia, so it would have to be at a suitable AEST time (I can do it any day of the week between 11am and 11pm. Fingers crossed somebody wants a new module for DCS and can take the time to help me. Thanks in advance for anybody who can expertly guide me through configuring VAICOM and DCS so I can sink my teeth into learning the F14 and reliving my Top Gun glory days!
  2. $30 thrown your way! I hadn't tried the channel when saying ATC, will do that now.
  3. Quick question about this magnificent profile - what command do I use to speak to ATC? I've tried saying "ATC", "Communications" and "Backslash", none of which worked (I've got it default bound to \ to bring up the comms menu). I'd love to be able to chat with the tower - do I need to tune the radio first or press a mic button?
  4. Ahhh, I think that's the problem - they were in the F-14 forum and had been pulled. Thanks.
  5. I'd for one would be happy to pay another $100 for the F-14D. Just my 2c. I hope the sales of the existing module have justified the obvious immense amount of work that went into it.
  6. You dear sir, are a bloody legend. Thank you again. I'd be more than happy to pay for this profile, as I'm sure many would, so perhaps setting up a Patreon account for it might be a good idea?
  7. Hey Bailey, firstly, let me say thank you from the bottom of my heart for spending so much time and effort and such a frankly daunting project. As somebody who has never used VA before, and am only getting back into DCS after a few years' break thanks to the lure of the F-14, it's a magical experience. I have one quick question. I'm still on the F-14 tutes, doing navigation. Somehow I managed to get Jester to dig down into the radar settings menus - is there a command to bring him back to the very base menu? Also, do you know any guides on how to print out the recorded commands - I found one that showed all the HTML commands but looking at your HTMI files it doesn't appear all are recorded, and you may have used different wording to what's in the HTMIL files? Thanks again for your magnificent work.
  8. Anybody? Seems like a fairly simple question - currently I have no link to download or thumbnails in ANY thread that has a download link. I've had to resort to PM'ing the download creators to send me a copy, which is a huge waste of their time. Note I'm using the latest version of Chrome, Windows Defender and Malwarebytes, all at default settings.
  9. Hey guys Just bought the TM Warthog and pedals, and want do a firmware update. I've downloaded the driver+firmware package, then installed the drivers. I then manually fired up the TM Firmware Updater, and the only versions of firmware I can update to are the existing ones - ver 23 for the throttle (9/10/2013) and ver 12 for the Joystick (9/10/2013). Anybody know where I can download the latest firmware versions, as installing the latest driver pack on their site didn't update my firmware?
  10. Hmm, they must have fixed the tute, as it did not say to lower the nose-wheel first then hit U when I played it for three hours - it was the opposite, hence it not working.
  11. I must be missing something obvious, but I simply can't see any link to files that are attached to threads. For example, the top few stickies in the F14 thread refer to files that can be downloaded, yet, I can't see any thumbnail, link, or anywhere to click to download the attachment. I've tried both Chrome and MS Edge , while logged in, and there's no place I can see where the attachment is. Any help?
  12. In the in-game tute, it says to line up on the lug, hit U, then lower your nosewheel. This does not work, as I spent 4 hours figuring out. In reality, it's the opposite. You need to line up, lower the nosewheel, then hit U and it works perfectly. This really needs to be fixed in the tute as it makes it impossible to learn how to take off.
  13. In the in-game tute, it says to line up on the lug, hit U, then lower your nosewheel. In reality, it's the opposite. I line up, lower my nosewheel, then hit U and it works perfectly. This really needs to be fixed in the tute.
  14. Figured it out - the in-game tutorial is wrong. It doesn't say to lower the nose as you approach the lug. As soon as I did that I hooked up immediately. Thanks guys!
  15. https://imgur.com/a/awNfZOj As you can see, I'm pretty much perfectly lined up... One thing I've noticed is that it asks me to change TACAN frequency, but it seems to be set correctly, so I don't touch it. The yellow tutorial box remains around it as a result.
  16. Hey guys I've just spent 3 hours trying to do the carrier take off tutorial. I have NWS steering engaged, but the steering is so inaccurate that I simply can't line up to the catapult bolter. The aircraft won't start taxiing until about 50% power, so I keep overshooting the trap. I also find it incredibly difficult to line up to the trap. Am I missing something here? I haven't lowered my nose, and I can't extend my nose strut. Also, sometimes the Tomcat steers in the exact opposite direction that I'm steering. It's driving me crazy, as I really want to do carrier ops. Any tips?
  17. Oculus Rift Consumer - not working with DCS Hey guys I've just received my Rift Consumer HMD, but I can't for the life of me get it to work with DCS. I've started the game in Other VR mode, enabled the "Detect Oculus Rift" button in options, but I just get a black screen on both the Rift and the secondary monitor. Any ideas? Am running the latest Oculus Rift software that works with the Consumer version.
  18. Unbelievable. I'm sorry, but if they can't run a basic kickstart, I'm starting to lose any faith in their ability to build a complex WWII sim. I'm sure I'm not the only one with these concerns.
  19. Nope, as I can't see any reference to that file in the bin folder within my DCS folder. I can see dcs_updater.exe, but that just starts the game.
  20. I was gifted the key by Matt Wagner, as I'm a gaming writer for a magazine. I've got him on the case, but it'd be ace if somebody else could come up with a solution prior, as it's been a couple of days now.
  21. Hmm, I have a serial key for the Huey, but I can't actually install it - the current downloadable installer isn't compatible with the current version of DCS, and I can't use the module manager as that only gives me the option to buy the Huey, which leads to the DCS site. As far as I can see, there's nowhere on the DCS site to redeem the Huey key. Which means I can't fly this beautiful new bird. Any other ideas?
  22. Hey guys I am getting back into DCS now that 1.2.3 is out, as I haven't flown it for a few years. I own DCS A10 and BS2 Update, as well as the FC beta. I'd like to do the training for each of these aircraft, which worked fine in the standalone versions of the game. However, when I tried to to do the training in-game, I was directed to download several Gigabytes worth of files from the ED site. I grabbed them, and only a couple loaded. One spat out corrupt data messages during the install (I checked - the file had indeed successfully completed downloading, which means the source file is buggered), while most others wouldn't even start installing due to an error about 32 vs 64 bit operating systems (I'm running Win7 64-bit ed). I'd really like to get into the FC3 beta and BS2 update, so how do I get the in-game training videos and missions to work? Or is it all broken? And yes, I have searched the forums for anything related to training, and didn't find any obvious answers to the problem. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
  23. Bump - I'm keen to fly my new copy of FC beta and BS2 update, but need training to help me pick it up. Has anybody else been able to get the official training packs/videos installed?
  24. Hey guys I downloaded all of the DCS world training files, which are extra downloads from the ED site. One spat out corrupt install issues during install, while most others wouldn't even start installing due to an error about 32 vs 64 bit operating systems (I'm running Win7 64-bit ed). I've just bought the BS2 update, and want to relearn it - how on Earth does one get all of the DCS World training modules to work?
