  1. Hey SimFreak - thanks for sharing your setup. A couple of questions for you: a) How do I install your setup? b) What about all the other hat switches that are on the real stick? Do you find you have to use your keyboard a lot to activate these functions?
  2. Really? Considering the G940 is one of the most popular sticks on the market, and the dire need for more hat switches, I'd hope the devs remedy this.
  3. This sounds like a great idea - do you know which of the real hat switches you'll group together by mode? Please let me know if you come up with a plan that fits your idea!
  4. Hey guys I've only owned my G940 for about 3 months, and it was a gift to me from my better half. Therefore the chances of me selling this and upgrading to the new 'Hog stick are slightly better than an A-10 winning in a dogfight with a Mig-29. This has me very concerned. You see, after looking at the controls for A-10 (I've pre-ordered and am playing the beta) it appears that the real Hog has around 9 different hat switches on the throttle/keyboards. The logitech has around 3. For the life of me I have no idea which hat switches I should map to my stick, and which ones I shouldn't? Perhaps I can use the pinky switch to triple the number of hat switches? Any ideas on a logical grouping of the real hat switches?
  5. Took the words right outta my mouth - if not, I better start shopping around for a decent printer.
  6. Ahh, turns out the problem was with the VERGEEV demo campaign - it's broken with 1.02. The other campaign I installed worked properly. Thanks for your help guys.
  7. Thanks for your reply - is this for Black Shark or Flaming Cliffs? My original query was referring to Black Shark, and the folder you mention does not exist. I've tried copying all files into both E:\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Missions\Campaigns and E:\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Missions\Campaigns\bs\en and only one of the three campaigns actually worked.
  8. Hey guys The thread says it all - I've downloaded three of these new campaigns, and tried to install them (none had clear instructions of where to place the unzipped files). However they're not showing up in my campaign list when I'm in game - but I can go and play each campaign mission-by-mission via the single mission area. Where do I dump the contents of each campaign zip folder to get them to work? Hope somebody can help - and yes, I searched the forums three times, no answer returned!
  9. I haven't had a chance to fly the G940 in Black Shark much (kept having major issues with the rudder inputs while trimming) but I am absolutely loving it for Rise of Flight and Flaming Cliffs 2. It's built exceptionally well, the software interface seems relatively intuitive, and the addition of Force Feedback really does help to immerse me more in the games. In terms of accuracy versus the X52 Pro, they both feel identical, though learning to use pedals is rather tricky - a bit like learning to play the drums in fact. Overall I'm very, very happy, and looking forward to getting it set up correctly in black shark. I've found this fella's settings quite helpful: http://www.zerotown.org/blog/
  10. Could the lack of slop have anything to do with the new firmware/software combination? I'll be updating both as soon as I install - will post my detailed impressions here, compared to the X52 Pro that I'm currently using.
  11. Thanks for the guide - I've just ordered the G940... via the missus (a loooong overdue Valentine's day present with a small cash injection from me). It was Rise of Flight that first got me interested in the G940, then I realised the trim in DCSBS would make use of it too. Really can't wait to set it up when it arrives in a week - will be hitting your guide as soon as it does!
  12. Just found the registry key via these forums: 64bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Eagle Dynamics\BlackShark Changed the PatchVersion value to 1.0, and patch is now installing. Phew.
  13. Hey guys I stupidly accidentally deleted my entire Black Shark directory, without doing a proper reinstall. Don't ask! I've just reinstalled the game, however when I try to patch it back to 1.02 I'm getting an error saying it's already patched to 1.02. I'm assuming this is because I didn't uninstall correctly, and there's a registry key left over somewhere. How can I solve this issue?
  14. Ed - hire this man to do your audio, immediately!
  15. I'm using the following: - no cloud shadow mod to get rid of the flickering on the horizon - Cloud mod 1.0 for fluffier clouds What's the deal with the LoReload terrain mod?
  16. Forget that request - I found a complete guide here, and now have it working!
  17. Hi Renato - I followed your instructions (although I used Windows Notepad) and it's worked wonderfully. Thank you - hopefully now I can figure out why I keep getting shot down!
  18. Topdog, would it be too much to ask for step by step instructions on getting Tacview to work in FC2 for those of us who don't have DCS Black Shark installed? I tried following your advice, but it's not exactly instructional if one doesn't know what they're doing? Pretty Please? =P
  19. A Ha, there it is! Thanks Sarge - I looked through the old FC manual and couldn't find it. Hmm, I own the original LOMAC, FC1 and BS manuals... I wonder if I'll need to buy the new FC2.0 manual at some stage?
  20. Hey guys Loving the AFM of the Su-25, but I keep getting lost when navigating. The problem is that I don't know which Nav mode I'm in. There's a bank of globes in the bottom right of the cockpit which change depending on which mode I'm in, but I can't seem to find a guide or instructions which show which globes mean which mode? Any ideas?
  21. Thanks guys - I think it was the fact I started engines before the electronics that caused the problem. Cheers!
  22. Hey guys I'm keen to start experimenting with the Russki aircraft, and have had a few successful flights in the lovely SU-25. I've hit a weird problem though -when I try the SU-25 campaign Cold War Warrior, Mission 1, my engines always catch fire just after start up? Here's my takeoff sequence: 1.) Shift + Home to start both engines 2.) Shift + L to start electronics 3.) Ctrl + c to close canopy 4.) Ctril + l to start nav lights 5.) I've tried leaving the throttle at 0% and around 30% - didn't make any difference. About a minute after start up, both engines catch fire. What am I doing wrong?
  23. Thanks Breakshot - while the mod lowers the cloud detail a lot, my fps stay at a solid 50fps when I get near them. Cheers!
