Few more infos 1. The HAF doesn't use anymore the Super 530. All missiles are in storage. Anyway, i asked what will happen, if after missile launch the radar contact with the target will broken and shortly after regained again. Answer : the missile will miss. 2. During the target illumination, the pilot of the launching aircraft can take offset, so he doesn't need to have the target straight ahead of him, provided that the target remains within the radar scan area and is all the time tracked. 3. The pilot selects the exocet missile through the osb buttons on the HDD. There is a "tws'' mode , but during anti ship attacks the aircraft focuses only on one target. The radar mode is called SRT and Works in conjuction with the exocet missile. 4. I operated the control stick on the 2000-5 (forgot to do that on the C). The pitch movement distance is very very short (1-2 cm), the roll distance is noticeable bigger. The stick is stiff. 5. On the airbase were present f-16 's with their crews. So i asked them and the m2000's pilots who wins in a dogfight. Both were very confident about their aircraft. On a gun's only, 5000 ft , 1 vs 1 scenario the mirage 2000 - 5 pilot told me : no way, we have them. He added that you have to think twice to engage an f-16 at medium altitutes, because this aircraft can maintain the speed during turns very well. 6. Also, there is a third party gps system installed on the aircraft and the moving map can be shown on the HDD. 7. Regarding gun symbology with a radar track, the counter clockwise circle represents 1200m distance on the 12 o' clock position, 900m on the 9', 600 m on the 6' and 300 m on the 3 o' clock

Today was a big day! I visited the Tanagra AB, homebase of the haf M2000's (c and -5). Will do that also tomorrow and on sunday (open days for the public) The pilots were very friendly and answered all my technical questions (nothing classified of course). So here we go . All the informations are for the 2000c rdm 3 version (not the -5) 1. Regarding the gun symbology on the HUD. With a radar lock, there is a piper with a smaller inner circle, which rotates counterclockwise according to the distance of the target. You have to put the pipper over the target. Without a radar lock, there is the snake Line. The 2 vertical Lines, are the 300 (big one) and 600 m (small one) range markers for the target whith the preselected wingspan. (sorry for my poor english!) So first you enter the wingspan of the target, and if the target is 300 m away, you have to aim with the big vertical Line on the snake Line, if the target is 600m away, you aim with the small vertical Line. If the target is between 300 and 600 m , you have to put the target between the two vertical Lines on the snake. The pilot has to estimate off course the distance visually. Very simple. 2. About the close combat (dogfight) radar modes. The 2000C has exactly the same modes as the f-16 (minus 1 mode), with exactly the same scanning patterns, ranges etc. (see the f-16/ bms manuals). The reason for that, is that these modes are universal demands of the military Industry and not only for the f-16, said the pilot. First mode is the vertical scan mode. The pilot mentioned this mode as VERTICAL. When selected, a vertical dashed Line appears on the hud (in the f-16 the Line is not dashed). Next is the boresight mode, with a small circle in the hud, which cannot be slewed by the pilot in the M2000. And the mode that covers the whole area of the hud (can't remember the name, reffer to the f-16 manuals). Symbology for that mode is a big circle that covers all the hud area. 3. The HDD is an MFD. 90% of the time the pilot selects the radar screen. the 10% is for exocet firing parameters selection. The hdd can also display naviation data (HSD). No data link Information for the C (only for the -5). 4. The aircraft has excellent flight behaviour in low speed's, due to the delta wing, with no vibration. 5. Regarding crosswind landings, crab is the used technique. After touchdown, the plane align itself with the centerline of the runway, due to the big span between the 2 main weels. Now, I have to think more questions for tomorrow!

+ 1 about a RDM / Exocet variant, even as a payware addon -
Yes, the greek M2000 has an english labelled cockpit. I'm sure razbam will offer that.

20km at low altitudes, double of that at medium and High altitudes, according to the videos i 've posted in page 127

The videos above are an amazing presentation of the HAF Mirage 2000EG (it's on Greek). At 4:00 are given some very interesting facts, about the turning capability of the aircraft. Mirage 2000EG flying with 2 Magic missiles , 50 % internal fuel (1990 lt) at 15.000 feet with Mach 0.7, has an instantaneous turning rate of 22 deg. per second, while the F-16 C has 18 deg. per second rate. Under the same conditions, but flying with Mach 0.9 the M2000EG has an Permanent turning rate of 11 deg. per second, while the F-16 C 13 deg. /sec. Some other interesting facts (in 14 : 00). The approach speed, depending on the weight, is 155 - 165 kts, and the touchdown speed circa 140 kts. The Ideal launch angle for the Magic missile is within 30 of the longitudinal axis (20: 30). The head of the Magic 2 missile can turn left/right 55 deg. and the missile achieves a load of 50 g's (in comparison to sidewinders 35 g's) M2000's roll rate is 180 deg. per sec at 42.000 feet flying at Mach 1.2 (30: 30). The maximum roll rate at sea level is 275 deg. per second. During a roll turn, the aircraft doesn't loose altitude at all. Regarding acceleration performance, the aircraft accelerates from take off point to 500 kts in 25 seconds, at 14.000 feet from 515 to 645 kts in 20 sec. , at 36.000 ft with 2 Magic, 50% fuel from Mach 0.9 to Mach 1.85 in 2 minutes. (1:13:30) The aircraft can launch only 1 Super 530D missile at a time, and the target must be illuminated from the radar until the impact. It has a range of 20km at low altitudes, double of that at medium and High altitudes, and can hit a target that flies 30000ft above the launching aircraft (1: 14:00) The RDM will detect a 5m² RCS fighter-sized target out to 45 nm using a search pattern of 120° in azimuth, at 54 nm with a 60° pattern in azimuth, dropping to 20 nmi in pulse-Doppler look-down modeI The minimum take off distance at sea level pressure with 2 Magic's is 500 m and the correspondive minimum landing distance is 610 m The anti - ship Exocet missile , when launched from 10.000m with high speed , has a range of 75 km, and a range of 40 - 45 km when launched below 15.000ft

Please, please no SFM. It's dcs, not fsx.
-
1) C 2) B 3) C 4) A.

Although I am huge fan of the c version (operated by my home country), I voted for all versions, variety can't never be bad in dcs. We want them all.

From Aerosoft's forum, regarding the fsx release : http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/92932-mirage-2000c-preview/ I am afraid a release of this amazing product by Aerosoft will be difficult. Dassault seems to be the most difficult we have ever encountered regarding rights. There is as always a lot of doubt a license is actually needed, but if Dassault so requires they can block the release indefinitely. So for now this project is on ice. When things change or if the developer find a different distributor I will inform you. And Tim told me he will sell the Mirage2000 from his own site at metal2mesh. Let hope everything goes well

F-16 and F/A-18 in the gunsight of the Mirage F1 !!!!! I really hope that AvioDev will provide us the pictured (classic) HUD version. And, of course, a most complex version with modern systems should also be offered. The F1 deserves it, because it's the most neglected aircraft in the flight simulation world. Personally, i like the 70' s - 80's era (F1, A-7E, F-4E etc). Here is an excellent video.
-
In AvioDev's posted picture, it seems to be visible the radar cover screen in the cockpit (upper right corner), which can be found certainly in the C version, perhaps also in the E (are there any differences in the cockpit layout between C and E? ).
-
what radar modes will be implemented?
-
I meant Not something like this. Anyway I would like to thank you for the aircraft choice, day one buy!!!!!!
-
-
I know that, I meant that the cockpit should be the classic c as the image above not a specific or updated version.
-
The C version all the way! But, why specific the ce ? The classic c version is the most used and fits in various scenarios.

razbam has stated on their Facebook site that the A-7 will follow "Are these only for FSX, or do you make plans for Xplane? Any plans to import the A-7 to DCS? Razbam Sims this mesh is the basic foundation for the DCS version'' (8 january 2015). Is this for dcs too? 7 Razbam Sims it´s the basic foundation, yes (7th january) DCS version someday maybe? Razbam Sims there is a DCS version mesh already, i simply wont post pics about it since i really dont want to kick a hornet´s nest, our DCS plans are already set, and we´ll go for the M2000C 1st, and that´s final Hope to see it one day in DCS. Razbam Sims you will, trust us on this one (28 october 2014)
