The need for implementation of the triangle and the lock tones was announced several months ago. I won't lie, i'm little disappointed when i see the progress on Harrier's Hud, while such basic (and relative simple to code?) indications are still missing from the Mirage. Perhaps, Zeus could find some time in his schedule to implement them and reduce little the hunger for us M2000 fans

Have several questions, after doing extensive dogfights in the JUST DOGFIGHT multiplayer server. 1) https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2872511&postcount=3052 '' Updated MAGIC lock tone ... Removed MAGIC seek tone, need to add MAGIC TIR tone ... ''. Are there (or should be) two separate tones (magic lock - magic tir), or is it one and the same tone, which is triggered in 2 different conditions? If the second tone is different, is he currently implemented ? And should this tone be audible only if the TIR message appears (=radar lock and double ring) or if the magic's seeker is also pointed to the radar lock (=magic + radar lock + double ring) ? Until now I thought that if you hear a tone you can in any case take the shoot, that's not true, since I had a magic seeker tone (target in circle) without a radar designated target, in distances well outside shooting parameters. The MAGIC TIR tone as a separate tone makes perfectly sense to me = you can shoot immediate. 2) In some cases , where I had multiple aircrafts in front of me, I had a good magic + radar lock, and suddenly the circle (magic) separated from the square (radar lock) and my wingman was on the circle and the enemy on the square . That happened although the enemy was on the right side of my hud and the friendly in a shorter distance on the left side (= without crossing in my view the bogeys position). Should this happen or am i missing something? I thought that if you have a magic and radar lock the magic seeker lock is ''fixed'' to the target. And I can understand the importance of the (missing currently) visual indication of the triangle (magic + radar lock) = the missile will follow the locked target. By the way the triangle is magic specific and does not appear with the 530, right? 3) The third question is more DCS World rather than Razbam M2000 specific. Very few of my fights were evolved in a true dogfight, in almost every engagement either me or the enemy or both could achieve a head on kill. a) How is magic's (short range missiles in general) effectiveness coded? Is the kill propability depending on target aspect angle or not? Do i have the same chance to kill the enemy, irrespective if i fire the all aspect missile from the 12 or the 6 o' clock positon? b) I was reading an aviation magazine, which covered a squadron exchange between HAF Mirage 2000's and dutch air force F-16A's in the 90's. The journalist was present on the various briefings and debriefings. According to the article, the dutch leader pilot presented the first day the aim - 9L capabilities and explained, that if the target make's a 6,5 g turn, he could exit the flight envelope of the missile. Is there a minimum high g avoidance threshold coded in our game ?

Does anybody know how to change the helmet color for the external model (what particular files must be edited etc)? I like the classic 80's white helmet

It's the N Switch on the VTB.

So if i have POL selected and then select the 530D missile mode, the POL mode should be deactivated ? And how does the ccm selection works? Respective hotas button forward : boresigt > vertical scan > SVI (that means three, instead of two, selection are available and in what order?). hotas button back : cycle between the 2 submodes for the horizontal scan?

[OLD BUG REPORTS] Cleaning and Organization of old posts
jaguara5 replied to RAZBAM_ELMO's topic in Resolved Bugs
Reading all the posts, especially from Azrayen, i would like to ask if Razbam is planning to develop an in depth damage system or a more basic version of this. The first requires full development of the underlying fbw, electrical, hydraulic , oil system etc. and I understand that this is not an easy task. -
It's the only module i fly (have to admit that i'm a big fan of the Mirage 2000 aircraft from the early 90's, when i sat for the first time in a real aircraft:)). The main area for improvement, IMO, are some HUD / RADAR functionality /bugs that are missing / need be resolved (already discussed several times in various topics). The FM feels much better and i imagine that it will be further fine tuned in the future. Completion of the module shouldn't be to far away.

I watched this video (''rafale hud kills'') https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bYolM_6SJk From 1:00 to 1:50 it looks to me like a normal M2000C hud tape (has nothing to do with the hud format shown in the rest of the video). And it's the first Mirage 2000C hud video I have seen, that is captured during simulated dogfight with guns selected (it is shown with and without a radar lock). So, If it's really a C version (people in the knowledge could confirm this), then it is obvious that the C and EG HUD's are almost identical. And the next conclusion is that are several differences from our simulated DCS version : -indeed the first half of the snake line is dashed (look at 1:00 - 1:03). Same as the EG's videos - in DCS the snake line is not dashed. - with guns selected and a radar lock, there is no DLZ and the distance to the target is being displayed only through the counter clockwise moving circle (no DLZ appears when the target is locked at 1:04) - same as shown in several EG's hud videos - in dcs we have both the circle and the DLZ. - the hud altitude alert arrow is constantly blinking and it's not steady. Same as the EG's videos - in DCS the arrow is constant After that, it's doubtful, if there's a difference in the IAS Alt placement between the C and the EG HUD variants. Edit : where in the Mirage the snake line is dashed, in the Rafale the respective part is empty, perhaps also an indications that you shouldn't aim with that part of the snake (Rmin?).

There are several differences between the HUD from Mirage 2000EG's (VE-130) and the HUD we have in dcs, that was indicated already a long time ago . I think the conclusion was that is related to the different (export) variant. E.g. in the above video the first part of the snake line is dashed, i imagine that this represents the Rmin for the gun (someone in the knowledge could perhaps confirm this), something that is missing in our simulated version. It seems very strange that the snake line is represented differently in HAF and FAF Mirages.

I would like to ask, if it's possible to develop the Magic and 530D missiles as captive / non lethal variants for practicing purposes in SP and MP missions. The latest Hellas Theater in bms offers that and it's a nice feature. Or at least have available the external model for the Magic X and 530X training variants (blue paint) for eye candy purposes.
-
The 530D DLZ is not displayed properly, perhaps also the Magic

Was practicing today a simple mission in the mission editor (start in the air). Have selected an alternator 1 failure (after 1 min. - within 1 min - 100 % failure probability), no master caution and warning light came up. After terminating the mission, in the event list the failure was listed.

Do you use hall sensors or potentiometers? Any chance to see in the future an Mirage 2000C stick and throttle?

A-7E / H, F-4E, Mirage F1C = the golden second generation aircraft era. If razbam could do all of them ... Anyway, i'm eagerly waiting for the corsair

Hi, can you provide a classic white helmet ? See the picture I have posted here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2986828#post2986828 And how do you change the color of the helmet? Thanks!

Read this article https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=178191&page=5 Also, this interview from a real pilot, claiming that in a dogfight he flew in the vertical at 60 knots and decelerating https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=175525&highlight=interview

When Police mode is selected : 1) The SVI Close Combat Mode is available (instead of the VERTICAL mode) for MAG and Guns (personally, I like the SVI mode more than the horizontal scan :)). 2) Weapons can be fired with Master Arm switch in ON (ARM) position

You welcome! Hope that helps to finetune the fbw system!

The need to make constant corrections during crosswind landings depends primary from the wind conditions. A steady crosswind requires little correction, the opposite is true for changing crosswind with turbulence 2 months ago i visited a HAF M2000 base for an airshow and one of my multiple questions to the pilots was exactly the landing behaviour of the aircraft . The answer was, that landing is straightforward, the FBW makes all the job and keeps the nose steady. At apprx. 50feet the pilot retards slowly the throttle and simultaneously makes gently pitch up inputs (about 3 small inputs, the pilot demonstrated the movement with his hands). Also they told that Crab is the used technique for crosswind landings and after touchdown, the aircraft aligns itself with the runway due to the big span between the 2 main wheels. Here is landing footage, (form outside an in cockpit) min. 11- 14 . The f-16 requires during landing a constant back pressure on the stick , it's how the fbw is programmed to give the pilot the feel of a traditional plane.
