  1. It's uploaded to the Google Play Store and pending publication! Coming to a phone or tablet near you soon!
  2. Thanks for your support! I'll upload it tomorrow to the play store (in about 15 hours) with a short description of how it works. I think it'll take some time after that before it's actually live, but I'll keep you posted. Thanks again!
  3. Hey guys, I was getting a bit frustrated with the limitations of the fixed DCS kneeboard functionality. To name a couple: the fact that you can't make customized tabs or folders (for for instance, airports, maps, aircraft specific procedures, aerobatic routines, etc.), can't add large images because of the default kneeboard size and lack of a zoom function, and that the kneeboard overlays over valuable screen real-estate. At first I tried a dual-monitor set-up, but viewing and browsing through images on the second screen makes you lose focus on the DCS screen (can't control aircraft), so that also wasn't a good alternative... So... I built a little Android app (DCS Kneeboard) with which you can create a custom kneeboard =) [uPDATE] I just uploaded the app to the Play Store and it's pending publication. Should be available in a couple of hours! The app is fully functional as is, but I'm definitely open for feedback, comments and feature requests ;) [uPDATE] It's available in the play store! Get it at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kneeboard&hl=en [uPDATE] The app is now Android 4.03+ compatible instead of 4.4+ A short overview: --------------- DCS kneeboard is an application that lets you create, manage and view your custom kneeboard set-up on an Android device: Installation: - Create a folder named 'DCSKneeboard' in the 'Pictures' folder on your device - Create as many subfolders as you want - Images placed in the subfolders will be displayed in the app - The image named 'folder_icon.png' will show as the icon for that folder (96x96px) Navigation: - Pinch to zoom - Swipe to move Cheers!
  4. It's been a busy past two weeks for me (workwise), but progress on the M-346 is still going strong. Remodeled some parts, tweaked others, but she's coming along just fine =)
  5. Thanks Rock, thanks Stratos. All movables are now animated according to the DCS standard. Next up, flaps and ailerons...
  6. Thanks Gaanalma, very useful information! I have done a successful export to the modelviewer before, but just not with the working animations. I'll check to see whether the more advanced animations also export. Cheers!
  7. The current progress on the movable parts (shown in dark gray):
  8. Thanks Gaanalma, good news. Do all the arguments have fixed numbers? And if so, where could I find a list? Now I'm just numbering 1 through 10... I can model a decent simulator aircraft, but I'm a total noob in importing it into DCS.
  9. Hey guys, here's another update. But first a quick question: I'm using dummies and IK solvers in 3DSMax to lock the rotating axis of various objects and to animate more complex moving parts (with arg-based controllers). Does the EDM format support this or do I need to approach it differently? Don't want to waste any time on this one =) I've refined the slats and working on the animation right now: And I have another question about that. When you look at this video, the slats automatically move according to AoA and/or speed. Is it possible to script this in the current SFM or LUA setup? 10. Thanks Stratos! Here's a pic of todays progress. Unified the model and will start on the asymmetric parts the coming days (asymmetric APU exhaust, underside air vents, etc.). Enjoy!
  11. It's the '3D modeling' section of the 'Mods and Apps' subforum. I don't see a fitter place to post the progress of the 3D model of a Mod =)
  12. I disagree. At this point in time this thread purely focuses on the development/progress of the 3D model of the aircraft. Once that's finished and the bird is neatly textured, imported and flying in DCS, we'll move posts to the what-if thread.
  13. Some progress on the movables (air brake):
  14. Hey didilman, at this point we are not planning to do a public release of the M-346 mod to the community. But if we will at some point in the future you'll be the first to know =) Stay tuned to this thread for more progress updates and pictures!
  15. And she's still work in progress, next item on the list is animating the movables =)
  16. Hey Silver Dragon! Currently our goal is to add the external model into DCS 1.5 as a private mod/3D model for the aerobatics team. In addition, we'll probably do some tweaks on the SFM to give it more true to life flight dynamics, and we're also considering giving it internal cockpit model.
  17. Lead engineer/modeler reporting in =) Currently our focus is to add the external model into DCS 1.5 as a private mod/3D model. In addition, we'll probably do some tweaks on the SFM to give it more true to life flight dynamics, and we're also considering giving it internal cockpit model. The M-346 a relatively modern aircraft and there's not a lot of info on the flight characteristics and systems. So unfortunately there's no chance that it will become a fully functional 3rd party DCS module.
  18. Introducing the new M346 model for the Limitless Aerobatics team Facebook
  19. I picked up modeling again lately. This is an image of the FW190-A5 I was working on last week, enjoy! =)
  20. Yup, the hardware IDs have changed... had the same problem a few weeks ago. what I did was: 1) assign a single button / axis in game for a given module for all your controllers. 2) copy the hardware ID's of the newly created Lua's and rename your previously saved Lua files with this ID It's tedious, but it works and it will take you approximately 30 min to go over all available modules. Definitely beats reconfiguring all controlls from scratch, good luck!
  21. Great flying, I really had a blast! I hope that we will have more community events like this, thanks for making it possible! Thanks pYlot for the wonderful ATC, can I pick up my canopy at the lost and found? [emoji14]
  22. Hey guys, I have a couple of questions in order to prepare for this evening: 1) Will the server be password protected? If so, how do we get the password? 2) When will callsigns be assigned to the aircraft? Beforehand or on the fly in the server? 3) Is the TS server the regular 104th? 4) Do we manually need to switch channel in TS when contacting the next ATC station or will the ATC folks handle that for you? 5) Can we make unusual requests like for instance requesting an engine run test at the south ramp =)? Thanks for making this possible! Really looking forward to the event!
  23. Last Friday I built my new system and reinstalled DCS, downloaded and installed the modules (I have all of them). Logged in to my account in the module manager, set up a simple mission in the mission editor and pressed fly. DCS automatically activated all my products (one by one, no typing keys involved), except the mig-21 which did require to type the key manually. Not really a problem for me there. I found transferring my custom controls to the fresh install more tedious. Because of my new PC, the TM Warthog and rudder pedals got different hardware id's. I had to rename a bunch of LUA files to make it work... Would there have been an easier way around?
  24. If you get bored of the normal take-off, try a heavy crosswind from the left ;) Took me about 10 attempts before I nailed this one =) _STfWAUAENQ
