  1. So I excitedly unpacked a 2nd hand Warthog last night, but although the PC recognises it's there; it doesn't detect any inputs/movement. Throttle seems to work fine; but not the stick. Any drivers I need to install, or otherwise? Also, the stick has about a 20deg twist - is this normal? Thanks
  2. A bit more info will help get the best advice:- Do you fly fixed-wing or Heli's Do you have rudder pedals already What are you upgrading from I've had an X52pro for some time, I'm just about to unbox a Warthog but you seem to get a lot more for your money with an X55 (Rhino). I'd say rudder pedals are more important than great stick/throttle, especially for Heli's. Warthog is more dedicated to the A10c than the Rhino - I've struggled to use the rotaries effectively on the X-52 in DCS, and I think the Rhino has similar. The Rhino also lacks the two stage trigger that the X52 and Warthog offers.
  3. I use the trackclip only, although I bought a proclip. Only issue I've found is it not working well in bright sunlight; I just close the curtains, and don't know if the proclip solves this. Proclip is wired/USB
  4. And the two-stage trigger of the X52 and Warthog, apparently - just going to unbox my TM warthog now:)
  5. AMD Radeon R7 200 Series DirectX® 12
  6. Good to know, I've noticed the price fluctuating on certain items, didn't realise it was based on my other searches. I've purchased a second-hand unit, about 6 months old for a good saving. Should be delivered Thursday.
  7. Amazon are now showing a delivery date of 6th Nov.
  8. So did they change the design? Are parts available for new sticks?
  9. Great, will give it a try!
  10. Same topic, different question. New to TrackIR, finding when I need to flick a cockpit switch or something, I'm having to chase the switch with the mouse as my head moves. How do others overcome this?
  11. Where can I get a TM Warthog from? Many are listing them, but most seem to be out-of-stock, including TM themselves. Even Amazon are quoting long delivery times. Any other UK buyers had any luck sourcing one recently?
  12. Hi Scooternutz, How about a full description of the setup - what screen's you're running, what PC specs, is there any other hardware to join it all up, etc..... BTW, looks great!
  13. Does the X55 have a two-stage trigger like my X52pro or the TM Warthog?
  14. Got a SWFFB in the loft, if anyone wants it for bits.
  15. You need DCS world for either; it is free and comes with the SU25T and Mustang included as Viersbovsky says.
  16. Basically, the longer you play, the cheaper it gets.... BTW, is it true that below the idle detent is outside the throttle axis?
  17. Yes, now I'm determined to track down a copy! See paulrkiii's got it!

    A10 books

Any recommendations for a good A10 read, fact or fiction? This is a bit out of my budget http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0979506425
  19. Couldn't open the video, youtube says it is private?
  20. I have a twist stick (X52pro), but quickly bought pedals. Atleast a twist stick allows you to buy pedals later, but I would say the pedals are more important, especially if you're flying heli's, whereas fixed wing, rudder control isn't so important except during takeoff/taxiing. With a twist stick, there's always interaction between the twist/yaw and roll & pitch so you can never really fly smoothly. Probably OK for arcade-style games, but not DCS-type sims!
  21. I have an X52pro, rudder pedals and I'm just getting used to TrackIR. I'm still playing with my mapping, now that the TrackIR has freed-up the sliders/hat that that I used before for views. Twist rudders are useless, especially for Helo's, but that wasn't your question. The X52 lacks some of the switchgear to give you 1:1 mapping to the A10c switchgear, and you need to use the Saitek mapping software if you want to utilize all of the rotaries on the X52 - I found the axis assignments available in DCS don't really allow you to use them easily. The X52pro wouldn't be my first choice now, but it works fine and I can't justify replacing it!
  22. Yes, I also tried that; may revisit it to get the A10VC working better.
  23. Maybe I asked the wrong question. Told me what I needed though. Hadn't noticed the symbology on the TAD, but I've normally got the stores page up.
  24. Guys, Is there a way to slave other sensors (e.g. Maverick) to threats identified by the RWR? I guess that would be too easy?
  25. I have two side by side, but they're different sizes/resolutions - just used what I had from previous PC's. A 17" on the left, running at 1280x1024 and a 22" on the right at 1680x1050. The sim sees them as a single monitor, 2960x1050. The Bezel is noticeable, especially when configuring the controls, but isn't centre vision during flight.
