I just bought an Iiyama Gold Master - 28" 4k. Just getting used to it and still setting up, looks stunning, even when running at 2560x 1440 - my graphics card (R7 250) isn't up to 4k gaming:(

Does the Warthog adaptor enable all the buttons, or are there any limitations? -

Interested - I've got a Warthog with a busted Gimbal; would like to get my hands on a better base. -
Will it only work in steam?

Been out of the sim for a few months, trackir, Warthog and pedals all disconnected, so I had a quick free flight using the keyboard. Looks awesome, going to spend a bit of time getting my pit together and get some serious testing done.

Using Razer Orbweaver in DCS

Sounds like you have already! Possible UFC? -
what would be a better purchase?
tommytank replied to agentdarnell's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Depends what you fly? I would say pedals are less important on fixed wing/fast jets, but are a must-have for Heli's. Trackir will improve your whole experience (and release a HOTAS hat that you'll otherwise have to use as view control), so I would start with that. By the time you've got used to the trackIR, you'll be ready for the pedals. -
Me, I always slew them onto the target.

Making 2 different sized monitors = 1920x1080
tommytank replied to Raven_Morpheus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Think it depends on your graphics card/driver - I've set my two monitors as 'extended display' within windows and DCS already sees this as a single display - rightclick on your desktop and click on screen resolution - under multiple displays, set it to "extend these displays". I have an AMD Radeon - the AMD control centre has an option to make the two screens a single display, and also allows you to scroll up/down either display to align the image. I've had a bit of a play with this, but didn't get the results I wanted without swapping the panels over, so reverted to my original settings. & surely to maximise the display, don't you want a setup that gives you 2820 x 1080, or something like that? DCS sees mine as 2960x1050. -
Contemplating a monitor upgrade. PC is i7 with a AMD R7 250, driving two dissimilar monitors, 22" @ 1680x1050 (primary) and a 17", it works with good stable frame rates, but it isn't pretty. Thinking of upgrading to a single 27", will that improve performance at 1080 but will I just see the same pixels bigger, and conversely if I go to a 4k monitor, will I loose performance?

Saitek X-52 Pro Worth my time and money?
tommytank replied to SilentGun's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I had many years from my X52pro, after returning a faulty X52 non-pro, and eventually sold it for a reasonable price when I upgraded to a warthog. There aren't obvious uses for the rotaries in DCS, but it comes with dual trigger - the X55 doesn't offer this. -
how can fire Mavericks when using the Litening pod?
tommytank replied to fighter1976's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
But to rephrase the original question, can you target and launch the maverick from the litening pod alone? -
CH fighter stick. lacks a couple of the switch functions of a warthog stick and no twist rudder, but is a nice precise stick.
-
Mine gets affected by bright light sources; particularly natural light coming through the window, but that wouldn't affect how it worked in particular modules, unless you're sitting differently relative to the camera?
-
Not X55, but when I had an X52 pro I fixed it under the desk on a hinged board; It folded under the desk when not in use with the throttle hanging upside down. Recycled that to mount my Warthog; this hinges on the side of the desk, and a small bungee loop holds it in place.

It's a good idea buy the HOTAS WARTHOG today ?

I've had customer service issues (see earlier posts/threads), but I'd still say get one. -
TM Warthog Gimbal Broke and Not Avalable any More
tommytank replied to LeadDoctor's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The CH fighterstick is pretty good, but I found the trim functions a bit twitchy, and it lacks a couple of the button functions that the Warthog has (2-stage trigger, depressable CMS switch). -
TM Warthog Gimbal Broke and Not Avalable any More

Worse, they accused me of damaging the stick because I continued to use it when it had broken! -
TM Warthog Gimbal Broke and Not Avalable any More
tommytank replied to LeadDoctor's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I got nowhere with TM for my broken gimbal, even though it was <12 months old. They offered to sell me a new base unit; but it wasn't much less than buying a new stick:mad: -
