  1. The Hind uses anhedral for the same reason as heavy lifter like A-124 use it. The rotor (or wings) is high above the center of gravity and this causes stability problems which lead to a combination of continues roll and yaw. This effect is reduced by the anhedral of the wings.
  2. In some parts of the video you can see that the rpm changes as the rotor starts to "move". If the camera uses 24 - 30 FPS this would be equal to 100 1440 - 1800 rpm of the main rotor which is far to high. Therefore the main rotor rpm can only be 1/5 (or 1/10) of the camera's FPS (because of the 5 blades). This means that the small "movement" of the rotor is actualy multiplied by 5. So if you see a movement of ~5 rpm it means the rpm changed by 25rpm (= 5% - 10%). But I think thats still quite good for the technology of the Hind at rapidly changing load of the rotor while maneuvering.
  3. How great is the diffrence in flight characteristics between light helicopter (50% fuel only) and combat load (100% fuel, Vikhr, S8 )?
  4. In BS you will even need to move left and right to reach some switches behind the stick. Compared to a fighter, the visibility in the Ka-50 cockpit is very restricted, and moving your head with 6 DOF is for sure a great advantage even more than in LO.
  5. Yes! You have 3 hotkeys you can use within every game. 1. On / Off 2. Toggle sensitivy 3. Reset the POV
  6. This happens in every producers note to me and thats the moment when I realize that I can't wait no more for release :joystick:
  7. I once used that ministick mouse too, but I doubt you could use it instead of real mouse in BS because there are so many switches and a huge cockpit area. I think you could do it this way: - Mouse cursor is relative to cockpit - You have on button (or double click) to recenter the mouse (to middle of the screen) I think that would solve all problems.
  8. Its truly amazing. Looking forward to a Black Shark cartoon series ;)
  9. What I would like to begin with is an cockpit picture where you can click on systems like ABRIS, Shval, Autopilot, HUD etc. and get to an article about that system. Other topics would include weapons, check list & procedures, tactics and so on.
  10. For quite some time now I have the idea of a Black Shark Wiki. Alot of information about Black Shark and the Ka-50 is already present in the forums, producer notes, etc. but its not easy accessible and its hard to add information. People will often ask the same things over and over, and some complex things are quite hard to understand if you have to collect the information from diffrent threads or other sources to get the complete view of it. That is why I would like to have an open Wiki were everyone could add to a knowledge base about Black Shark and the Ka-50. And with the release of the offical manual and of DCS:BS still to come, it would make waiting much easier ;) So what do you think about this, would you think you could support this project with content or technical? :cheer3nc:
  11. You don't have to use Port 80 for a HTTP Server, so you can avoid the blocking.
  12. What are the tasks for "the guy in the back seat"?
  13. ED has to develop a new AFM then ;) - Advanced Fan Model
  14. Unless there will be a 3rd party Star Wars addon ;)
  15. As the map of BS will be smaller than in LO I guess there will be only a small part of the Black Sea included. I wonder if that has an impact on simulation of naval ops ...
  16. In multiplayer you could steal enemy Mi-24 and kidnap enemy fighters you pretend to rescue and then get shot down by friendly CAP :D
  17. And Thud is short for Thunderchief ;)
  18. Do you think this sim will be released before DCS:BS? I would realy like to fly that Harrier, but there has been so little progress over the last year that I start to doubt if it will be released at all.
  19. I am thinking about a CSAR addon. If you get shot down, you have to hide from enemy troops and wait for your rescue.
  20. I would suggest to start with something "easy" as F-8 or A-4 or even C-2.
  21. As a work around you could use the hotkey to toggle the tracking sensitivity, but I would prefer an ingame solution.
  22. The problem is that a switch can become very small (like 1/4 size of cursor) and then even very few shaking will become a problem particulary when you have to press that switch for some seconds.
  23. I know this problem from MSFS and I have TrackIR 4. I think that solution could solve the problem, otherwise you always would have to zoom in very close.
  24. Will it make any diffrence to AI aircraft (not your wingmen) if I designate a target with smoke rockets?
  25. It makes most sense to me if interpreted as a protection if a 3rd party addon is released as an offical part of DCS, in the way that a developer cannot restrict the usage of his addon once it is officaly a part of DCS, and work had been invested by ED to integrate it.
