  1. Was going to buy the FC F-15C if the FF module was going to be an upgrade for it so I'd be ready when it came out. But if I'm reading the FAQ right, it's going to be a separate module?
  2. I got OpenTrack and used the neural track with the webcam I have. In OpenTrack, the feed and index lines/arrows look great. They don't vibrate, it's steady, etc. Once I get into DCS and am in the cockpit, the tracking is terrible. It's twitchy, jumps around, won't return to center (have to manually RTC all the time) and looking down doesn't work. It's even worse trying to use BeamEye or whatever it is on Steam - no matter where I put the webcam, it doesn't see my eyes and the one time it does, they're at the top of the calibration box or whatever it is. Anyone have some tips or do I just need to bite the bullet and get the new DelanClip?
  3. Hey folks! I've been an almost exclusive user of Liberation for DCS. I love what it has to offer, but I'm getting tired of having to constantly play with my graphical settings to make it playable in VR (Reverb G2). So, I figured I'd ask you folks what other alternatives there are, if there's something similar to Liberation I could use? Or is Liberation pretty much it when it comes to a dynamic environment for DCS? I've avoided scripted campaigns because... that old-school F-16 simulator broke me with it's dynamic campaign and I just can't get with scripted campaigns anymore. Appreciate your input, folks!
  4. I got the MFG Crosswind v3 and damper with the F-16-style pedals.
  5. https://www.engadget.com/sonys-ps-vr2-adaptor-for-pc-will-arrive-on-august-7-with-a-60-price-tag-155751937.html Sounds like a great deal, headset is currently $450 on sale.
  6. It's also nice to be able to properly steer a plane on the ground, too.
  7. I've mostly shelved the AH-64 despite buying it day one as I just wasn't enjoying it. It seems overly complex for a solo guy like me to learn and using a digital input on my throttle to control the rudder was an effort in futility. So, I went and got some rudder pedals and just tried them out tonight in the Apache training mission. GOOD LORD, the coordination needed to fly this thing is... intimidating! I think I need to decrease the sensitivity in my rudder and in my cyclic as I'm just making far too many overcorrections and getting into a lot of PIOs. And then, just when I think I'm getting the hang of it, I do something stupid and BOOM. Trying to get into a hover is proving exceptionally challenging at this point. Being able to keep the Apache from swinging left to right with the rudder is also very frustrating. Man - these pedals have opened up a completely new realm of flying and I find I'm woefully unprepared to do it. lol Going to be a long time putzing around in VR before I feel even partially competent. Big props to those of you that did this for a living!
  8. And the packaging makes for a fun box for your cat. Box wasn't empty 5 seconds before he crawled in and made himself at home. lol
  9. Surprise, surprise! DHL dropped them off today! One thing I'll mention as it wasn't obvious to me or in any documentation (kinda hard to find, YouTube is your friend) is that when you use the config software, make sure you look at the "VIRTUAL BUTTON" box in yellow and check the box. Then they will show up in DCS so you can use them. If the box is unchecked, the toe brake function will not work in DCS.
  10. I was correct that it'll be delivered on Friday, but it's June 7th - next Friday. Lol
  11. In the decades I've been flight simming, I've never had a set of rudder pedals. If I'm honest, I always preferred the twist-stick method of rudder control. Meant I didn't have to spend the extra hundreds of dollars I didn't have to get rudder control and I grew to love it with my MS FFB2. However, with Winwing throttle and stick, twist isn't an option. I went with MFG instead of WinWing, despite having WinWing throttle and stick, ... because I forgot WinWing had rudder pedals. lol In my research, I've seen nothing but good things about the MFG, so I'm hoping they're as good for me. I've put off rudder pedals for a long time but today I finally decided to bite the bullet and ordered the pedals and the hydraulic damper kit. I'm honestly kind of excited - I think I can finally really fly the Apache now as I've often avoided using it because it's so hard to control without good rudder input. It's also nice I'll finally have a rudder axis that isn't a button on my throttle that I'm constantly tapping to steer around. Same with MSFS. I'm hoping it'll be here by the weekend since today isn't a holiday in Italy.
  12. Saw this vid today and felt the part where he talks about HOTAS of the F-16 vs the F-18 says exactly what my thoughts are. Fast-forward to 11:35 where he talks about this.
  13. The SP/MP surprised me as well. I thought it'd be reversed. May be some sample bias, but I would have never guessed 75/25 MP. I've never played MP and fly Liberation exclusively. I have the F18 and Supercarrier but never use them. I just chalk it up to dev support. Lol. I have the full Afghanistan pre-ordered- be interesting to see the area I was deployed in recreated. Drop a couple 2000lb JDAMs on a particular village... lol
  14. Anyone check out Spud's video about his survey results? As I mentioned in the comments for the video, I'm surprised the F-18 is the most popular module. I've found it to be overly complicated compared to the F-16. The F-16 is by far my favorite module - and a lot simpler to use! In the comments, people are saying the F-16 avionics are difficult to understand or more complicated than the F-18? What are they talking about because the F-16 makes waaaaaay more sense - those comments literally make no sense to me. So fewer buttons you have to push, just put the targeting pod over the target and blam.
  15. I couldn't tell you, honestly. I'm waiting to really play it until the JDAMs come out. It's just sitting in my hangar until then. Now I'm using the A-10 more.
  16. I'm personally leaning towards the Bigscreen. Small, light, micro-OLED, and a "competitive" price-point. However, I'm also of the opinion that waiting for their V2 with more features like eye tracking and the like might be a better idea, though that'll be years and years from now.
  17. The Reverb G2 has been a great entry into VR. I got it for a great price about a year ago and it doesn't need towers. But, I think it's time to consider getting something better. Varjo brought down the Aero to $1k, Bigscreen has their mini-OLED for $1k, Pimax now has the Crystal... There are quite a few choices, so I figured I'd ask you folks what would be the best in DCS. DCS is the only thing I do with VR, so I don't need controlers or anything. I much prefer not needing base stations, but I understand it's something I might just have to accept at this point. My #1 priority is visual quality. The G2 is sharp, but colors are bad, especially when I have an OLED for a PC monitor. FOV is #2 - I wouldn't want to get anything that's smaller in FOV from my G2. I'd prefer to stay away from Pimax, since they're Chinese (don't talk to me about my Winwing controllers... lol), so I'm already hesitant about Pimax. I have a 13900k, 4080 16GB, and 32GB RAM, so I've got plenty of machine for VR, especially after 2.9. Thank you for your consideration.
  18. Appreciate your input folks. I don't know a whole lot about the Phantom, so hearing what you say does well to fill in the obvious blanks.
  19. How is this plane as a dogfighter? I know it's a massive, heavy plane with massive, powerful engines - but can it fight in a turn a bit or is the Rhino a pig? Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk
  20. I was just coming to post that multi-thread with DLSS and DLAA enabled (along with other things I can't remember, I was just clicking things) is absolutely transformative in VR. 4080, 32GB DDR5, 13900k. It was very playable in Liberation before 2.9, but now... It's an absolutely incredible experience!
  21. No?... Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk
  22. Ok, well, those of you drooling over the F-15 radar make good arguments.
  23. I don't understand this fascination people have with the F-15 radar. You're still limited by the AIM-120 range just like the F-16 and F-18. The "more powerful radar" in the F-15 is essentially pointless. Oh, you can 'see' farther? Ok - still gotta wait until that plane is 20mi away before you can fire your AMRAAM, just like the F-16/18. And with targeting pods, unless you're simulating some conflict that pre-dates them, the targeting pod is vastly superior to the radar for ground attacks as well. The F-16 is far more feature complete (F-15 doesn't even have JDAMs yet...) and a much more mature platform. Until the F-15 gets some serious updates and is more feature-complete, then the F-16 is by far the better module.
  24. Any chance of something like this? It'd certainly make installing new skins for aircraft simpler.
  25. LOL I found out about the price drop because of his video and was coming here to post it.
