  1. Here are some pics. I read that disabling any RGB software could help, so I did. Didn't make an appreciable difference Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  2. I've got a mission in DCS running in the F-16, doing VR, and am in Syria. My SteamVR thing is saying I'm constantly at 22.4ish MS in 3rd person (F2 view), the bar is solid red with an occasional pink/magenta one. I'm at about 19.0 +/- 0.2ms in first person view (F1).the bar is solid red with an occasional orange/magenta one.
  3. Should/Can I disable fpsVR? Should I enable Adrenaline VR integration? As for Adrenaline, I was wondering why it was showing as a % of max, rather than the actual speeds like yours.
  4. I have an i7 8700k and 32GB @ 3600. I'll work on the other bit.
  5. I'm curious why my Adrenaline looks different from yours. I did see that the SteamVR performance thingy threw a bunch of orange spikes while playing - is that normal?
  6. So here are my settings currently.
  7. Trying a Lib campaign in the F-16 and at around 22.5k, my FPS is bouncing between the mid 20s and the 90s. Mostly up in the 40s-50s. The folder delete you had me do seems to have helped a little bit in VR.
  8. But... the "Fly" position IS maxed out. The Lock-Out position isn't "more power".
  9. Glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed the off-center clarity of the G2 is not good. Have to turn your head rather than move your eyes. I just tell myself that the headset is mimicking your eyeballs and your head movement is the eyeball moving - like fuzzy peripheral vision.
  10. Depends on how involved I feel like being. lol George is good at simple things. So what I typically do is fly as the pilot to cold start the helo. I'll take off and transition to forward flight at an appropriate altitude. I'll then switch to the CP/G and tell George what heading/speed to fly. That's when I'll start setting up the weapons as the CP/G. Once we get somewhere where we can blow <profanity> up, I tell George to hover and take up a good altitude and I just play plink-'em with Hellfires until they're gone, rinse/repeat. Then I'll switch back to Pilot and fly back to base. I do think there's more enjoyment to be had with a human along with you, but that's a hassle to me. EDIT: Was wrong, Cobra is 2-seat as well. Whoops. lol
  11. It's amusing to me how easy it is to not think about it and just reach for something - even knowing it's VR. The suspension of disbelief is impressive.
  12. I, too, exclusively play as SP and offline. For me, yes, it was worth it. Looks great, surprisingly functional, and complex enough to give your noodle a good work out. Works really well with the pre-release 5.2 version of Liberation as well. Fun going orange smoke chasing with 16 hellfires. lol
  13. Are you talking about the power levers or the collective? IIRC, the helo works on a "best RPM" principle - there's a specific RPM the computers are trying to keep. By increasing the collective pitch of the rotors, you induce drag on the powertrain. The more pitch on the rotors, the more resistance the powertrain is subjected to. That's what the over-torqueing is. The engines have to work too hard to maintain the constant RPM for the amount of pitch on the rotor blades. So, you collectively pitch the rotors down enough that you maintain lift/motion while not over-torqueing the powertrain.
  14. Funny, that's the thread I've been referencing. Another poster a few days ago told me about that one too.
  15. Got my GPU today and the G2 yesterday. Got stuff set up - thankfully I'm not having nearly the issues some others are and mine's working pretty much flawlessly. I did something today in DCS I've never been able to accomplish before - I completed a mid-air refuel! Now, it did take about 15min to connect and disconnect numerous times, but I got all 12k lbs into my F16 in the mission I downloaded. Doing it in VR was... SO FREAKING COOL. I really think my HOTAS is in a bad position (high and forward of natural), but that VR... Man, a little disconcerting seeing the boom coming through the canopy, but the ability to make those corrections so quickly and naturally was amazing. Tried the AH-64 and a simple mission in the F-16 so far. Just wish the cockpit wasn't quite so jittery (getting between 30-35fps with my 6800XT). HUD and such is pretty good. Also have to get used to moving my head instead of just my eyes, else text is nigh unreadable unless looking directly at it.
  16. However, in a base mission I have in ME using the F-16 in the Caucuses for a simple bomb run, I'm getting over 120fps in 3rd person. Is the AH64 and Liberation that demanding? I don't even think I picked a demanding campaign.
  17. I wasn't aware that was even a choice - I've never had to do that in the past. Is this because of the new F-16 HOTAS from WinWing? EDIT: That fixed it for me - thank you!!!
  18. So, I have a Cougar HOTAS and just flew the F-16 in a mission for the first time this patch - and for some reason, my throttle will not go past full-mil power despite my throttle being at 100%. Joystick analyzer says it's at 100%, but DCS isn't recognizing it as such. Thrust is still set to my Z-axis. You can see on the second picture, throttle is at 102% and no afterburner. Now it won't go past 100%.
  19. Just got a 6800XT to replace my 1080 non-Ti and my framerates haven't improved at all. Using DCS Liberation, playing in the new Syria map with an Apache, flying from Haifa, I'm getting FPS in the high teens and steady in the mid 20s. This isn't any better than I had with my 1080. Playing at 1440, AMD Adrenaline is re-installed. Prior to installing the new GPU, I used DDU to delete all the nVidia stuff in safe mode, so there should be 0 driver conflicts. I turned off the SSAA, SSAO, etc. and maxed out MSAA options as suggested in a vid I saw, but I'm still barely in the 30s in FPS from Haifa.
  20. It's not quite like that, but it gives the impression of a massive scale conflict. Liberation generates a theater with a bunch of missions you can choose or edit and then you load them in the mission editor. Be warned, it is very system intensive, so create a few to get a feel for what your machine can handle. Highly recommend 32gb or RAM. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  21. As for campaign, I highly recommend DCS Liberation. I fly it exclusively Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  22. We were told recon by fire was a no-no. LOL Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk Playing SP Liberation CAS means 16 hellfires are great, just chase the orange smoke. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  23. Apache is a LOT easier to start than the Viper. lol Waaaay fewer buttons to push (or I'm just skipping a lot...). I do think I've streamlined the process of engaging targets, but NAV stuff is still beyond me - I just use Liberation, load up a CAS mission and go chase orange smoke. lol
  24. Nothing to apologize for. Onlybwaybto find out is if we ask. :) Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  25. I just use the command bit to tell him where/how to fly. Flying below 300ft across any kind of valley is a recipe for certain doom.
