  1. Is it possible to setup a mission with an offset radial or is it automatically chosen in DCS (and always a straight in)? And if not will this option be added later?
  2. Thanks for our answers! Indeed I expected something like this.
  3. Hi, I searched the forums already and found indeed that the UHF radio's are not supposed to work before the engines are running (at least one of them or use external power). I was a bit surprised that loss of both engines in air (running out of fuel, indeed not smart but it does happen ;) ) means you also lose the radio's. I did a bit of reading and aren't the radio's supposed to be fed by the essential bus in that case (on battery)? UFC is then not working but the channel selectors icw the radio's could be fed by the essential bus. Or is this indeed incorrect and is no generator -> not radio at all? Best, Huppel
  4. Thanks, did some tests and it works now! Did not know I could (should) skip the "checking in" part (used to work in the past, I always followed what is (currently) on page 41 of the manual where it is included, perhaps better to remove it there). One more question: just using " 'recipient', options" to get the menu and then use "take x" to select an item from the list indeed does not work. Is this on purpose? I always thought it is a nice workaround if I did not know what to say and I thought it worked in the past. Best Marcel
  5. Hi, I seem to have a problem contacting jtac (think since last update but cannot exactly remember when I last tried it). I can send the request and also hear my command being played but there is no response. I also tried using "jtac options" and then "take 1" but with the same result. When I'm not running viacom and play the same mission using DCS menu communications everything works fine. I noted that I sometimes see the following (strange?) line in the VoiceAttack window, might that have something to do with it? : 9:10:29.773 To use carrier communications, activate your Eagle Dynamics Supercarrier module license. 9:10:29.769 Recognized : 'checking in' 9:10:27.709 (awaiting additional input) 9:10:27.705 Recognized : 'axeman' Best, Marcel
  6. Ah, I'm playing in VR and never even realized this with the new cockpit. But when I close one of my eyes indeed part of the HUD is gone ;) With both eyes open I can see the whole HUD. View for VR users is perfect now, hope if it will be changed this view will be made an option Best, Marcel
  7. Thanks for the new update! When I try to import the "Viacom pro airio.vap" to update the copmmands I get an "Error loading profile data. [There is an error in XML document (1,1).] Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1." error message. Am I doing something wrong? Should I first delete some old commands? Best Regards, Marcel

    Shutdown

Hi, I can't figure out how to place the throttle handle into the shutoff position. Whatever I click, although the uncage handle goes down, I cannot get the throttle into the backward position. I there a way to do this? BTW can we please also have device binds for getting the throttle to the on and off position? Best, Huppel
  10. At least understand the Config window problem, it has to do with having VoiceAttack on my 2nd monitor. If I move both to my first monitor everything works as expected. If I have it on my 2nd monitor, the Viacom config window always needs to be moved, It seems to be positioned outside my screen (my assumption there is a problem because of the resolution difference between my 1st and 2nd monitor). Playing with the minimzed flags does not make a difference for me (I have them both off btw)
  11. Only problem is I have to do this now everytime I restart Voicecontrol and want to look at the config (I prefer to have the PTT window open when playing). Is there a way I can have Voicecontrol/Windows remember the latest position?
  12. Had the same problem but this resolved it, thanks! Huppel
  13. Thanks, indeed f-14b does work. Turns out the livery I used was probably just incorrect, downloaded another one and that one did work. Thanks for your help, Marcel
  14. Yes, know that one works, but I prefer to use the Saved Games folder not to mess up my install, I do the same for my other modules. Is that not (yet) possible for the F14?
  15. Hi, I'm trying to install my first 14 livery into C:\Users\...\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\f-14b but whatever folder I use the livery is not available in DCS (and the country is correct of course, double checked). What folder name should I use? Kind regards, Marcel
  16. Okay, checked and the auto trim is off (didn't even know it was there). It looks like the yaw on throttle application is much less aggressive. But perhaps it is just my imagination, hadn't flown any of the props for a while but I always had trouble taking of without crashing and now I can successfully take off without problems. Perhaps I'm just getting better at it ;)
  17. I noticed the same thing yesterday. And it is not only the yak, was playing with the Bf 109 and Spitfire IX as well and takeoff was definitely much easier (takeoff assistance and autorudder fully off).
  18. Hi, Tried to find out what the "switch Jester" command does and what I've noticed it switched the TIS TV out put to lantirn, correct? Would it be possible to make Jester also keep the TIS mode to TV? When I switch back and forth from pilot to RIO he immediately chnages the TIS mode again. As an alternative could you perhaps add a Jester on/off option like we have in the wheel? (one that I would like better as there are other cases when I want to for a short time be the RIO and switch back and forth without Jester changing switches in between) Best, Marcel
  19. Thanks, great news! Thanks for looking into this so quickly after my suggestion. I know how difficult these rare bugs can be being a SW dev myself ;) Best, Huppel
  20. Don't think it is such a very rare problem and shouldn't be so hard to reproduce. Just take the first mission of the "Operation Persian Gauntlet - Jane's F-15 Iran Campaign Reimagined (F-14B)" campaign and it happens 4 out of 5 times trying to lock/shoot down the helicopters (single player, no multiplayer needed), at least for me and other people reporting this problem with this mission. Best regards, Marcel
  21. Using the Operation Persian Gauntlet campaigns first mission it is rather easy to reproduce a crash, it does that 2 out of three times I fly it (and for others as well, read the campaign thread). Indeed I did not report a crash report as none is generated nor is there anything special in the log. In the Windows event viewer an access violation is reported. This is in SP by the way. Kind regards, Marcel
  22. Hi, Tried again, this time used VSL Low (or is that in the same buggy category?). Was already on my 6th heli or something and had at that point not even a lock and then it happened again. BTW don't think it is in any way caused by the mission, must be something with DCS or the F14. Checked the DCS logs and there is nothing special in there. Checked the windows event log and indeed an access violation (0xc0000005) is reported for DCS.exe. Had that before but for some reason in this case I do net get offered the chance so send a but report including dump file. Best Marcel
  23. Ah, yes I was indeed using PAL to lockup the helicopters (in both cases on the two different machines). Wasn't aware that this is a known problem at the moment. Thanks, now I know how to workaround it. Best Marcel
  24. Really love this, Remember flying the F15 version in the past ;) I only have a problem, I have a CTD when I shoot down the helicopters in mission one. Same happens on my sons PC if he tries this. Anybody has a clue what is causing this and how to workaround this? I do not even get the option to send the logs to ED, it just goes to the desktop. Kind regards, Marcel
