There is no file named snapviews.lua on my disk. The video clip is from a multiplayer server. Sorry, no idea what you mean by 158

Having issues centering the camera in a forward view. Fresh Win10 install (1 day old) Latest stable version of all drivers Fresh DCS install I have mapped the TrackIR centre button to the L/G WRN on the throttle and it works kind of as expected, if one were to assume something is telling TIR that the view down right is 'centre'. Several times in the clip below i use this center, and it keeps centering it to the down right position as if that position is the DCS center point. Several google searches on the subject suggest deleting a views file/folder in users[username]Save GamesDCSconfig I my case i'm running open beta, and no such file exists it's save games folder. In the trackIR app when i hit center the app shows a perfect center. Running out of ideas. Anyone?

I was going to read all of the thread before i posted, but this post has captured my thoughts pretty much exactly. Having invested time and money in to 2 alternative sims and been left feeling short changed i always come back to DCS. Of the sims mentioned above, 1 has 3 feet in the grave, the other has ski jumps on runways and needs a supercomputer to get past 20FPS, and I've never had any luck with TrackIR in it either, awkward positions are required to achieve what in real life are simple head movements, and then the fact that my head frequently ends up in the back seat or outside next to the engine cowling along with a blast of engine noise to the headphones... no thanks. Had enough of them, and it put me to thinking how nice a 172 would be if it were done DCS way. Can appreciate the positions of those pointing out the 'combat' in DCS, but there are those of us that also have a love for craft outside the combat designation, and those 'other' sims people are pointing out really are not DCS standard. We have something special here, and i'd love to see it expand beyond the combat bounds.

Tried this app for the first time today and look promising. I could offer some ideas to make it appear cleaner if they're welcome? Tabs are the go! Stick the different functions into different tabs! Got a donate link? Just closed it and got an error, as follows... Virus detected upon doing a clean install - Sonar.am.c!g9
v81 replied to garyn123's topic in Installation Problems
I don't know why people opt for 3rd party AV when a free, functional, efficient solution is now free from Microsoft. Whilst it rightly was considered rubbish a few years ago, it's come a long long way. Just uninstall your AV and ensure that Windows Defender kicks in. -
Thrustmaster Warthog issues, Windows 10 Pro
v81 replied to Sn8ke's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
Cant help with the Warthog, but the keyboard thing is common, not a Win 10 issue, can appear regardless of OS. Different USB ports can help. Some BIOS setting can help / hinder the issue. If there is an easy way to get the cover crap off the motherboard i'd be doing that. Regardless of what Asus say it's more detrimental than beneficial. I'm a bit of a fan of this article, might be interest you. http://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-hardware-needs-to-grow-up/ -
X45 deciding to crap out on me, finally ordered a Warthog
v81 replied to LC34's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Have you ever used a Warthog previously? -
SRS auto connect Wondering if i could get some more details on SRS auto connect. I have configured the server as per the Readme and then re-started it. Have installed SR on the client as per instructions. Do i need SR running on the client before i launch DCS, or will it be automatically launched when connecting to a server configured with SRS auto connect? Seems either way nothing works.

I'm running ESXi v6 with a couple of VM's and am also trying to fire up a DCS server. I too have encountered the same issues as OP. I am aware of VT-D pass through, and have a GTX710 on order, so i hope that resolves the issue, will report back. Machine is dual E5-2670's giving 16 physical cores. 64GB ram and storage on a fast NAS over 2gbE link. I do have a couple of questions, and was hoping to find some stickies. There is mention of "render3D = false" in this thread. Could somone clarify what config file this goes in? Any other tips or suggestions?

I have buddy who has limited access to expensive internet, but whom has just built a new rig. We're aware of deactivating etc.. so this is not a post asking about that, i thought i'd mention that as google results about moving from 1 PC to another pretty much exclusively discuss this and not the actual process of moving the entire installation intact. What we need to do is move the DCS 1.5 install in full from his laptop to his new PC, and get it running with a minimum of downloading. The most recent attempt was to dump the DCS folder on his new machine and run the updater with the -repair switch. Unfortunately this began a process that was moving data at a solid 7Mb/s from the internet and showing it was wanting to download about 4GB (Approx $50 worth of data on the only connection he can get at the moment). We'd like to know if there is a method, official or not that will allow the copying of moving from 1 machine to another. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers.

Help (please) with new build RAM decision
v81 replied to rag48's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
High speed ram with tight timings give almost zero real world benefit. I'd spend half as much as you're planning to spend and then put the money elsewhere. I'd go as far as favoring speed a little, but wouldn't bother going past 3000 or 3200. This... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232299 Is what i'd suggest if it absolutely has to be G.Skill. Otherwise i just go with whatever has reasonable speed/timings and value for money. As previously mentioned most of the ram brands just purchase chips from the handful of manufacturers that actually make them. ::edit:: This is what i would go. Motherboard is a bit cheaper, and in fact still overkill in my opinion, but still you seem to want to spend big. This board has 2 x M.2 slots, and I've laoded them with a pair of nvme SSD's, 256GB for OS/apps and 512GB for games/other apps. As written below storage will be fast and simple to manage (no RAID, but could if you want?) but also will not require any drive data or power cables. Buying a 980Ti now is a mistake with the 1070/1080 less than a month away and offering massive VR/multi display benefits (if that's your thing?) PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant Disregard the prices, i'm sure the parts are even cheaper for anywhere else in the world. Australia gets shafted as far as tech prices go. Put the money towards a Vive instead! Would be nice and tidy with the nvme SSD's on board too, would love to see more mobo mfg's do this. -
impossible to use the weapon training on UH-1H
v81 replied to Redglyph's topic in Missions and Campaigns
The above quote was in 2015, so last year then was 2014 Tis now 2016 and i too have just gotten stuck in this mission. C'mon Belsimtek, again as quoted above would only take a couple of minutes to fix it for good. -
I am currently working my way through the training missions for the Su25T I have encountered a few bugs that need addressing. These bugs in particular are annoying as one of the main audience for these missions are people inexperienced with these particular craft. I am currently running 1.5.3.50487 Win10 Pro x64 - i5 3570K - Z77XUD3H - 8GB - GTX970 - TM Warthog - Saitek ProFlight Combat peddals - tIR5 Su27T training mission "Landing - Hard" Instructor mentions that this airfield has ILS, and points out that the HSI bars should come alive. Problem - The HSI bars fail to show any movement, appear inactive. Su27T training mission "Internal Cannon" Instructor says target area will be illuminated with flares to help see target Problem - there are no flares. Su27T training mission "ECM air air" Instructor says press 'E' to enable ECM Take a look at the right wall of the cockpit. You'll see the ECM light blinking as the jammer warms up. Once it's a solid light the ECM jammer is opperating. Problem - no ECM light seen on RH wall of cockpit. I will continue the training missions and mention any further issues as they arise. Would be awesome if DCS/ED could keep an eye on these as they continue to work on the sim as a whole. These training missions are the 1st missions a newcomer will see, and any issues in them may have the potential to discourage players that might otherwise strengthen our community.

Thanks Ironhand, I had no idea what to look for. I was searching for "head down" and "HDD" as per the instructions. I found the "MFD HUD Repeater Mode On Off" but nothing was bound to it, thus i suppose why pressing the keys showed no result. I've now bound LCtrl + R to it. Funny that it wasn't bound as today is the 1st time I've ever used the SU27 module. I'll re-try the training mission tomorrow and should all work now. Cheers.

Hi, trying to learn myself the SU27 and i'm at a point in the second training mission where the i am asked to press LCtrl + R to change HDD modes. Pressing this combo does nothing, so i thought i'l have a look for the bind in the menu, found none. To be sure i hadn't missed it i tried to bind LCtrl + R to a random item to look for an error saying that key was already in use, no error, canceled that bind. Anyone have any idea what's up here? Anyone have any advice for someone learning the SU27? Cheers

I'm having trouble finding the frequencies to begin with. There are no airfield charts on my kneeboard, only maps. Docs folder has nothing either. No freqs show in radio menu (assume this is because all my settings are 'SIMULATOR'). Can someone point me to where i might find frequencies?
-
Never had the issue myself. If it is related to loading assets for the 21 would my lack of issues be because i have DCS on an SSD?

I think torrent updates are a great idea, with some caveats. Here in Australia most ISP's now charge for data in both directions. IE data both downloaded AND downloaded counts to our quota/limit. So having things like this happen without warning can cause issues and upset. If seeded 1:1 a 1Gigabyte update would use 2 gig of a users quota. I'm happy to an extent to participate in distribution of updates by torrent, but would like full control over up and downstream speeds and number of connections and ability to set a limit overall on up and down data. One concern however is if several apps did this simultaneously my connection could suffer (esp having 1mbit upstream). If i could access the torrent directly I'd even be happy to host it in a data center to provide an additional seed (ie similar to a torrent box). That's my 5cents.

I'm surprised this hasn't got more posts. I have just minutes ago received a couple of pro-micros to have a go with MMJoy. Looking forward to it, will report back.

1st place to start is the manual if you haven't already. I've found the Ka-50 and A-10C manuals to cover the specifications you mention reasonably well. They might be missing a little detail here or there, in which case i google a bit. Anything specific you wanted to know?
