R1 temporary bug fixes (currently: M02)
Sile replied to baltic_dragon's topic in F/A-18C Raven One Campaign
Hi, has this already been fixed? I got this refuel bug once in Mission 2 and get it now again in Mission 3 during the first AAR with Exxon. Smoke refuels forever. The campaign is great from what i have seen until now. But i don't like to play the campaign with this happening all the time. It's quite frustrating. :( Is there a fix incoming or some kind of workaround? Thanks. Sile -
Too "glassy" and reflective water.
Sile replied to Skysurfer's topic in Weather System Bugs & Problems
Since 2.7 Water shows too little structure. It's pretty much like a mirror surface. I'm flying non-VR with Water set to "High". -
Watching the ATFLIR Targeting Pod Video, i can't find the "MARK" function of the lightning POD for optically pointing at a target with a laserbeam, that can be seen with night vision goggles. (3.7 - page 280 in Chucks Guide "Laser Marking"). Doesn't the ATFLIR offer that feature?

Hi, thank you for the great charts and your hard work. Just one question. It seems the runway headings in the diagrams are true headings. From what i know the headings given in the charts should be magnetic headings? So Incirlik for example is actually 55 degrees in the chart. Magnetic heading should be 49 degrees. It might be that i am completely wrong... ;) Anyway it‘s not even a big deal, so thank you again and keep up the good work. MatthlK

Every second flight i do ends with a CTD. No special action noticed causing this. Can't guarantee the F14 or/and multiplayer mode is to blame, because it's the only plane and mode i fly. But will look closer now.

you really should have read the first answer to your question. (post #2) :music_whistling:

Alternative way of choosing the axis: There should also be a dropdown field in the dialog window where you can alternatively select the axis from instead of moving it. And make sure you are in the right "Saitek" Column.

Had the same issue yesterday. There should also be a dropdown field in the dialog window where you can alternatively select the axis. That worked for me and my MFG crosswind. Or maybe move the rudder pedal to the end stop to get it recognized.

Thank you, looks interesting!

F-14B + TM Warthog Throttle: start engine by moving out of detent?
Sile replied to bumblebomb's topic in Thrustmaster
Yep. The functions are called "Left Engine Cutoff" / "Right Engine Cutoff". Just bind the buttons. Works. No lua oder target scripting needed (undo the changes). Maybe enable "Sync HOTAS System at Sim Start" under Misc. Options. Have a German Installation here, so i'm not sure about the exact name. -
F-14B + TM Warthog Throttle: start engine by moving out of detent?
Sile replied to bumblebomb's topic in Thrustmaster
Not sure if i'm missing something. But for me it worked out of the box like it does with the a-10. Moving the throttles out of idle on the warthog moves the throttle out of idle in the f-14. And back into idle if desired. When "booting" into a plane i cycle the throttles out of and into idle once - maybe to sync the status with dcs. I don't use target. Maybe i had to map both idle positions like you do for the buttons in control setup - i don't remember. Will look for the function names later and post them here. -
Thanks some1 & SGT Coyle for your answers. I think i will play around with TARGET a bit this evening. Already programmed a script for falcon bms but that was years ago, so i almost forgot everything. Have sent a mail to Sahaj as well. Does someone know if the Virpil 50 mm would work with the Warthog - maybe with a trick/ modifying it? I think i read somewhere someone is using it with a warthog, but can't find the post an more.
-
Hi, i'm looking for an extension that is as short as possible. I only want to realize a 10°-15° counterclockwise rotation on my now center mounted Warthog Stick without lengthening it. Is the Virpil 50mm the shortest? Their product description states it doesn't work with TM Warthog Base + Grip?! Is this correct? Do you guys know alternative Solutions? I read about rotating the axis by a T.A.R.G.E.T script. But by doing this i will get a "Thrustmaster Combined Device" and loose the plug and play functionallity with DCS modules and would have to redo all control setups, right? Thank you. Matthl

Do u mean 1.5 beta or 2.5 beta? The 2.5 beta installer asked me if i would like to keep or remove 2.2 alpha. I chose to keep it and let the 2.5 stable remove it once it's out. (after transfering necessary files so it won't need to download them)

Hi, running german clients 1.5.2 and 2.0 here. Affects both. In MiG-21 the control setting "Multiplayer chat - mode All" - default "Tab" for mig-21 (LShift+Tab for all other planes) triggers the wrong action. It only shows the Chat like "Tab" does in other planes. I guess there is a naming error in default.lua in C:\Users\Users\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\MiG-21Bis\keyboard: {combos={{key='Tab'}},down=iCommandChat, name='Multiplayer chat - mode All',category='General'}, iCommandChat is for "Chat read only" - so the name sould be changed. A command for iCommandAllChat is currently missing. It should be added and named "'Multiplayer chat - mode All". iCommandFriendlyChat is included and works fine. Looked in some other modules keyboard\default.lua. They don't use the chat entries at all and rely on the game defaults btw. Matthl

F-15 - mapping autopilot to joystick not working
Sile replied to Sile's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Thanks! Will try to add that attitude hold action manually to my user config once i'm at home. Seems like it affects german clients. Some translation thing maybe. -
F-15 - mapping autopilot to joystick not working
Sile replied to Sile's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Seems like you still have the old config file format. They changed this some time ago. My input files in c:\users\xxx\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\F-15C\joystick\ end with .diff.lua and look like this: ["d389pnilunilcdnilvdnilvpnilvunil"] = { ["added"] = { [1] = { ["key"] = "JOY_BTN15", }, }, ["name"] = "Autopilot - Flughöhe halten", }, So it probably only affects people who didn't carry over their controls and it will probably only be a problem for you if you decide to reassign the autopilot button, because i guess the naming is wrong in the current version. It would be interesting to know though, if you can see the action in control settings. -
F-15 - mapping autopilot to joystick not working
Sile replied to Sile's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Hi, thanks for your message. Will try adding your config settings to my lua when i am at home. But fiddling around in config files can't be the end of the story. I guess it's a bug. How can i assign whats not there? Did you keep your settings from DCS 1.2? Do you actually see 6 settings in category autopilot or only 5? Do you see an option with keys "A" and "LAlt+2"? My autopilot attitude hold works by pressing a keyboard key ("A" or "LAlt+1"). The corresponding action for attitude hold is not included in my F15-C control settings in the game settings so i can't map it to my throttle and i can't change keys if i wanted to.. The altitude hold ("H" or "LAlt+2") is there and can be assigned. "iCommandPlaneAutopilot" is the name of the attitude hold action in my keyboard lua (in DCS install Folder). Not shown in settings. "iCommandPlaneStabHorizon", which is in your user settings lua is not included in mine. -
F-15 - mapping autopilot to joystick not working
Sile replied to Sile's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Do you see five or six options in control settings? My point is, that there is one setting missing. There should be six. The important one isn't shown and can't be changed or assigned but works via "A" or "LAlt+1". -
Hi, i'm running DCS clients 1.5 and 2.0 here in a german windows 10 64 bit environment. Everything works well so far with one exception: In F-15 control settings i can't map the autopilot attitude hold action to a joystick button because the action is missing in the settings, see picture: According to the config file (see below) there should be 6 options instead of only 5 here. It affects both clients, 1.5 and 2.0. The keys "A" or "LAlt+1" work in the sim. In the settings file they are included but not in ingame settings screen: local res = external_profile("Config/Input/Aircrafts/base_keyboard_binding.lua") join(res.keyCommands,{ -- Autopilot {combos = {{key = 'A'}, {key = '1', reformers = {'LAlt'}}}, down = iCommandPlaneAutopilot, name = _('Autopilot - Attitude Hold'), category = _('Autopilot')}, {combos = {{key = 'H'}, {key = '2', reformers = {'LAlt'}}}, down = iCommandPlaneStabHbar, name = _('Autopilot - Altitude Hold'), category = _('Autopilot')}, {combos = {{key = '9', reformers = {'LAlt'}}}, down = iCommandPlaneStabCancel, name = _('Autopilot Disengage'), category = _('Autopilot')}, {combos = {{key = '1', reformers = {'LCtrl'}}}, down = iCommandHelicopter_PPR_button_T_up, name = _('CAS Pitch'), category = _('Autopilot')}, {combos = {{key = '2', reformers = {'LCtrl'}}}, down = iCommandHelicopter_PPR_button_K_up, name = _('CAS Roll'), category = _('Autopilot')}, {combos = {{key = '3', reformers = {'LCtrl'}}}, down = iCommandHelicopter_PPR_button_H_up, name = _('CAS Yaw'), category = _('Autopilot')}, Tried a DCS repair and deleted the user settings in C:\Users\***\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\F-15C for testing. Nothing resolved the issue. The key option for attitude hold doesn't show up. What can i do to resolve the issue? Do others have the same issue, maybe? Maybe i have this problem, because i did a fresh install of 1.5 / 2.0 and didn't carry over old, working input setups? Thanks in advance for tips! Matthl

Albatros here (Callsign: Stern). Just saying hello. :) Nice formation. It was great fun! Thank you for the server. Experienced a noticable fps drop near or when looking in direction of sochi airport.

Hi, yes. "Seitenrudertrimmkanteneinstellung" would be correct. Rudertrimmung isn't specific enough. Thanks for detailing the topic. But i think we can agree that the real Problem is, that the translation is totally mixed up in the moment. For everyone wondering. We are not talking about control settings (key bindings). There are a new settings for the ground only adjustable trim tabs in special options for the aircraft. Matthl
-
Hi, german client here. In 1.5 beta - special options/settings for aircraft Bf-109K-4 the new trim settings are incorrectly translated. Höhenrudertrimmung means elevator trim in german. -> But does trim the airlerons. Should be called "Querrudertrimmung". Querrudertrimmung means ailoeron trim in german. -> But does trim the rudder. Should be called "Rudertrimmung". Btw. What we really need is an elevator trim offset in options. :) Best regards, Matthl

Confirm. No Alt+Tab possible here, too. Unless another program is already open when i start dcs, e.g. explorer. Or try Ctrl+Alt+Del and choose taskmanager. Greets
