  1. I think this would be solved by 1. Improving multiplayer mechanics (so you don't have to assimilate into a clan just to play WSO) plus adding a VOIP system including intercom and direct talk 2. Decent training missions for all the non flying roles as well as a decent system to order AI about.
  2. I fear that there's a fighter bias in DCS. I would love a heavy bomber myself. The idea of changing the balance of a battle by bombing supply lines and runways seems so much more appealing than dogfights. But it might never happen unless people make their voices heard. If we can have a complex, multi-seat ASM module like the Mi-8, I'm sure a bomber, at least a dual-seater like the SU-24 wouldn't be impossible.
  3. Because the B52H is one of the current nuclear bombers for the united states this is probably impossible to get access to. But a multi-crew bomber is much needed to balance out all the single seat fighters, a B1-B would be great.
  4. My dream is DCS: Bombers, F-111 and B1-B vs Su-24 and Tu-22M
  5. Do they rent/buy the actual aircraft and put it through a wind tunnel? What is the process of getting permission to model systems from governments? For example, how did ED go about acquiring information on the A10C? Has ED or any third parties had their requests for aircraft information rejected by governments under operations security?
  6. Arma and DCS should have a baby methinks.
  7. Red Orchestra 2 has something called 'online campaign' that would be a good model for something like this. You win the battle in one area and you push forward to the next map in a direction of your choice. Choosing to defend costs less assets and the battle would end if one side runs out of assets or reinforcements or they are completely conquered. Maybe it could edge slightly forward and overlap the last map so you bring in factors like destroyed runways and captured vehicles from the last battle. Oh the possibilities... :music_whistling:
  8. ICBM silo :P
  9. I meant the squad system in arma, it wasn't very good for teamwork. The ACRE mod was good but underused.
  10. DCS REALLY needs a built-in VOIP system and a squad menu system. Games like Arma are completely ruined by neglecting this aspect and forcing people to join clans and use teamspeak. An example of a realism game that gets pubbies using teamwork really well is the project reality mod for Battlefield 2 that uses a mumble system that loads with the .exe. The mumble squad system breathes so much life into the teamplay aspect and some people don't want to have to join clans, they just want to jump into the game. The problem of new players who aren't clued up in project reality is solved by a commander, squad system and (for valuable assets like aircraft) temp bans telling them to practice offline. Some random example videos of complete strangers working really well together because of mumble squads.
  11. +1 Just came here to post this.
  12. ayy lmao
  13. I'd donate if one of the proven third party companies/ED started a kickstarter for it.
  14. Yes, a lockheed U2 would be ballin
  15. Good idea. Could be used for other functions too, instead of having to load up a tutorial every time.
  16. +1 for realism option How will I ever make it into Best Korean air force if I can't even get onto the runway? ;)
  17. Good stuff guys
  18. Call me dumb but I can't seem to figure out how to go about this  Am I supposed to learn the terrain and landmarks off by heart? How do I find a precise target? I don't think there's a distance scale on the kneeboard maps so how can I know how many miles from a RSBN station I have to be? Maybe I'm missing something but it appears the manual only tells me how to find a place to land.
  19. I'm not really sure how to make a flight plan. Do I need to print off maps and use acetate + permanent marker? Do I need a compass, ruler or some other tools? Do I do this in conjunction with ARC?
  20. I think even very basic infantry mechanics like the shooting in m&b napoleonic wars would suffice. Make it low poly but still fun. It would feel a lot more satisfying knowing you were supporting actual players.
  21. More of Russia and Ukraine would be sweet.
  22. I like the new mig-21 music :music_whistling:
  23. Now that I think about it an intruder would be nice...
