From my perspective this makes more than sense. Since the harrier and maybe even a rescue helicopter are planned this would be a good addition to dcs. Even with the upcoming seamodule it will give more nice options for building missions.

same situation here, dude! thinkin' of buying 2in1 nevada and f-5 if it's available within the next "two weeks". guess, if f-5 goes into beta (maybe with 1.5.5) there will be such offer.

NTTR = Nevada Test and Training Range Buy a 256 GB SSD for DCS only. This will do it fine for your two installs. Can't help with the control settings. But there are threads in this forum. Use the forum search field in the top right corner to find specific threads.

so if you'd buy nevada map or NTTR you got acess to version 2.0 already which still is in alpha release at the moment. the stable version 1.5.3 includes only the caucasus map. this one is still free to download. both versions will be merged to version 2.5 in the near future. (unknown release date!) then the nevada and future maps will still remain as payware and caucasus will be the free map. both maps will run on engine 2.5 within the same installation from this time on. until then the installation will be seperate and they may contain bugs. got it?

Hey dude! What is the sense of doing this pool questioning every other week?

as i said before...the model should be clean as it is now! there must be a option to add the AR probe either as an option argument to attach, weapon (like the a-bomb on the mig-21) or even as a seperate model F-5EM! Anyway i am happy as it is announced for now. But i can understand the request of some people for the AR probe. I don't see it as something very urgent for the moment. Hopefully there will be some time to add this feature some day to satisfy all you guys from brazil, etc...

I agree that the refueling probe is a have to due to usage all over the world! But as it was optional equipment it should be only assigned to the countries which got those probes on the f-5's. Swiss airforce f-5's dont have it. Maybe there is a possibility to add the fuel probe as selectable equipment like weapons or dispensers to make developement easier? What you mean?

Hopefully we get a stable merged version this year. I don't believe it to be honest.:(

It doesn't matter when it will be released. At least those old textures will get some updates as long as we wait for the bigger stuff to be released. Anyway i guess the proper integration of third-party developements into the simulation seems not to be quite as easy as expected and may not be underestimated as well.

i am wondering what the next update for DCS is going to be? I do not expect the merge yet. Waiting for the weekend news every week with knowing about all the stuff that is coming up this year drives me crazy...

For example

i know about these skins but the physical design (size, speed, range, travel altitude,...) of the yak is very limited and a scenario with civil traffic built with just one regional jet and several different fictional skins is a bit strange.

Recall At least an AI Airliner like the airbus 320 or boeing 737 for air policing or escort missions please.

Holy s*** Everybody is exciting about all the new texture improvements and upcoming modules. Folks, just stop driving completly crazy and even becoming angry about stuff which has not been communicated through all the media in your prefered specific way. So much great stuff is in the pipeline and we should keep in mind that ed and all the third parties are giving all the best to build the best flight sim ever seen. So keep calm and wait for the news and infos from ed when they are ready to release them.

I think it would be very useful in all of dcs map to have option to set stationary sam sites active or not. Pending on which one is relevant.

Nice idea but how you will keep the reference of trackir hardwarewise if the gforces are taking influence of it? Think this would be very tricky or even impossible to work properly. This feature would have to be created very individual to match everyones preferences. Such features need extreme ressources and are questionmarks for me to really bring more fun into the sim.
