  3. Many blue Mirages are at Gudauta but Mig29s are all the way to Anapa. Bullseye Sochi. Also to few Mig29 slots at all. The only counterpart to Mirage is Mig29 so it would be expected to have more on front line instead of half Mig21s.

  5. @Ciribob: The BF worst enemy is LAG! Kill that please by all means. One must find source of that as others said no lag on other servers. Only here. And getting worse. In beginning that was corrected but I have doubts that it has been initiated either by SRS or some specific mod.

(Cold War Dedicated Setup Scenario): CAP airframes: - Blue: F15/M2K/F5 - Red: Su27/Mig29/Mig21 CAS airframes: - Blue: A10(TGP&DL)/AJS37/M2K/F5//SA343 - Red: Su25T/Mig21/Mig29/Su27//Ka50(ABRIS) *SEAD Su25T on red side and A10 on blue side? - "SEAD" strike can be done with fast low level attack with guns (MiG21/F5/Viggen etc - I know its dangerous but I've seen and tried that and it works) so SEAD mission is not real concern here as IR SAMs are more dangerous and its hard to come close to S11 to fire them so this role is doubtful. - A10 is kind of in advantage on pure CAS role so red are given ABRIS on K50. Su25 is still slower in clearing of target zones than A10 which has 6xAGM65s and Su25 2xKh29Ts. - Pure CAS roles are kind in balance so I wouldn't mind it this way. That SEAD role is going to be upgraded by HARMs on F18 and logic counterpart would be Kh58 on Su25T. *Middle range fighters like M2K on blue and Mig29S (with R77) on red? - M2K is popular and lethal. It has 4 missiles and good sensors and (IR)RWR so blue would love that. On red side Mig29S with R77 is pretty match to M2K by having 6 missiles. Booth have impressive FM so dogfights would be attractive. - Su27 should have DL (good if its EWR connected but better if fighter to fighter link also) so flanker would for sure be more popular than now. F15 is already on its peak by missile count and unmatched agility and range. - F5 vs mig21, we already have servers like Tiger vs Fishbed so it's a match here too. *Onboard fuel? -All planes should have egg. minimum like 10mins of max throttle fuel available on ramp. In RF war alert state all planes are on 'ready to go' setup immediately after landing, fueled and loaded, no time to spare. *Airframe range maps? -I would like to see 'time spent to engagement zone' balance map. That should be corrected as front line fighters (M2K/F5/Mig29/Mig21) should be placed ahead of F15 and Su27 and always following that sample with others. Some things are this way as above I presume but generally I'm sticking to pure 'Cold War-IF' scenario.

My ideal BF setup would be: :::CAP::: Blue: F15(no AMRAAMs)/M2K/F5 // Red: Su27(DL, no Es)/MiG29S(R77)/Mig21(no Nukes ofc) :::CAS::: Blue: A10/Viggen // Red: Su25/T :::HELIS::: Blue: Huey/Gazelle // Red: Mi8/Ka50 :::RECON::: Blue: F86 // Red: MiG15 :::TRANSPORT::: Red/Blue: TF-51D Pure Cold War setup, no visual mistakes. Restriction only on weapon of choice. No technology tweaking. Cruical: EWR grid buildup must work for GCIs to have SA. Most people would like this way. Pure and simple.
  9. Dear, Ciribob. Datalink is russian RWR, nothing less, nothing more. Disabling it is like disabling RWR on blue planes. Either bring it back or disable RWR on f15 and mirage for a fair trade. Numbers are already in blue side favor so why cripple integral part of Su27? No logic in that. Missiles are already degraded and over sensitive to countermeasures, radar half-broken, damage model strictly overrated, acceleration degraded by artificial drag and fuel waste sky high. What do we need next. Sling shots on wing pylons? Let me stress that again: Datalink is Sukhoi's RWR - Integral Part. Reduce number of Su27 slots but no fun if messing with under the hood switches. Bring DL back please.
  10. There's problem with my lua.dll when playing on BF. Keeps crashing game on a most events like slot change, missile hit etc. Weird. Any suggestions how to fix this? PS: Yeah. Mirages are spawned like mushrooms after rain. Zounds of mirages. All we need is stinky cheese and slim bread with champagne. And french maids, lot of them.
  11. Mi8 autopilot is weird. Sometimes it works lie a charm, sometimes its like rollercoaster ride, up and down. Chopper wants to kill you, its insane and so frustrating to fight controls on a 30-45min trip and compensate forward flip suicidal intentions. What is wrong with Mi8? Also what is the relation between trim and autopilot, is that correlated? Any specialist here?
  12. Ok. Sochi captured for test. No rearm/refuel tools for choppers there since base is 0% on capture event. Base is north some 50ish km or less but no slots yet. I noticed that mirages booth have same skins. Hard to distinguish FoF visually. That shoud be fixed. Can you guys (on T-10min game save) export file with unit type and coordinates and then restore that deployed ground units back on server after restart? Wipe the dead ones and SAM limit is set anyway so there wont be much units to restore. It would be so much fun that way.
  13. Distances- are set too far for any flights. Especially choppers or CAS. Who will fly 300km to the zone and then got shot and anything brought is going to disappear in 20min? Units brought needs to stay. That's the real deal. Even if server needs to stay awake for months or deployed units needs to be saved by type/coordinates in file on restart. In this case nothing will be conquered anytime soon, booth sides. It's too hard and there's not enough hard core players to do that. Team switching - I think that number of registered users have set that right and core of this game is sense of companionship, team power. That's what is the best in BF. Teamwork. Don't screw that. Thumbs up. Keep working. More airframes wee need. ;)

  16. I asked RL MiG-21bis test pilot (recently retired) about this feature and he said that there's limit on 5 relight iterations. I didn't ask about engine flameout conditions but under my opinion this should not appear valid due to use of cone extending mechanism and shock cone shift as air entering engine should mainly stay subsonic. Surge protection gills are also integrated on airframe. So why so much flameouts on high mach number?

Are F15 and Su27 still available? Why not place Mig-15 and F-86 for recon flights egg. because hawks and l39s are very rare and exotic planes? Thx.

  19. @Sobek LBM method instead of NVS: No one has to make in-game real-time CFD but commit series of tests (AoA, Mach..) separately, extrapolate data and store them on rule (chart) that will be combined with atmosphere properties and kinetic data in-game. That's way efficient than doing actual complex LBM calculations on-air. Anyway, most of (90%) in-game flight model regimes are subsonic (except missiles) and error margin for LBM is under 10% on rough calculations -guaranteed, as LBM has good fluid-structure interaction solver principle. Been there - done that. @shagrat There was SETI as distributed job scheduler. It used available cores on idle state over network to commit calculations. There are lot of job scheduling platforms. JSON fast egg. http://dkron.io/ but there are more types available. I do have hexacore i7 utilized under 10% in DCS. Most of players have High-End PCs. To speed up network data bandwidth one should use moderate data compression. @David I know that DCS is almost alone in this field and that's why I'm very sensitive to this mess. That is the only sim-game I ever brought actually with 80% purchased modules (I have run Nevada couple of times). That says a lot. I can't snip into a deep code as it's not open source but I can only observe manifestations in game (usually online). Guessing principles and methods of calculations behind my intuition says something is not set right and needs re-coding, specially on physics area because model rendering is secondary in pure sim and can be switched to GPU. Viggen is the fastest thing in DCS. Make comparative tests an you will see for yourself. It's not point on M2k but diversity of applied rules of physics. Check this out guys: I still believe in DCS and I do want to help. This is just constructive criticism.
  20. How about simplified Lattice-Bolzman instad of Navier-Stokes? And for god sake, implement inertia tensor matrix on all models, mandatory. That means no network lags and ballistic motion guaranteed. Weight distribution could also be calculated on simple level as weight of engines, airframes and external loads is known. Thrust, lift, drag and acceleration vectors are mandatory booth for flight model as for damage engine. Sensors are blind in many aspects. Booth west/east. Gradual sensor cone/prism zones interpolated with RCS/TCS vector values and Doppler modes should give realistic sensor signature. Also ground clutter exists on some modules other not. Missile guidance, countermeasure sensitivity and failure intensity is far from real combat scenarios and industry standard. General philosophy of physics should be unified and not specific for each third party team as they should be responsible for 3d model perfection, dynamic aerodynamic input data and cockpit interaction credibility. They need to comply to the general physic model.I feel the anarchy in the air. MP should be in a nutshell isolated from streaming complex positional data and act as supercomputer cluster utilizing all cores available over network. The only thing that should be duplex streamed on MP server is cockpit control inputs that should give flawless results on any client if engine is set correctly. Graphics is secondary and all depends on GPU but its MS DX problem anyway. Ground mesh looks like from 90s and needs procedural generator that could also be used on dynamic weather. This is what I would do if I would make a 'simulator'. I just don't have time and I'm not paid to do that. Technology is here and DCS just needs to adapt. Fast. Most of my experience comes from MP and AI chasing is still no real challenge for me as I hope for many core fans of DCS too. PS: Mirage thing? It plunges at near 2000 km/h, hits dense air, doesn't overheat and its hydraulic performance is still maxed and no airframe stress at all. With full missile pack. How real is that? Gas viscosity and drag force increases on high temperatures. There are more powerful planes with greater Power/Cd ratio that can't come close of 50% of that what that 'thing' can do. Its just an example of anarchy. If it's real let it be but I'm pretty sure its not.
  21. I can eat misjudgment in performance in manner of +/- 10% but not some drastic changes of behavior or even introduction of critical effect. If you don't set all variables on beginning and predict atmosphere and flight model interaction behavior correctly you cant even start building fancy models or interactive cockpits. No use of that if physics is not set right from start.
  22. User manual all range charts are fixed and behavior is specific for each flight envelope segment. Airframe geometry, mass and weight distribution is relatively known and stable, airfoil lift&drag charts are available and stable, acceleration limitations are also charted, engine performance/thrust versus air density are also known and available, AoA versus drag charts are also available and stable, radar and thermal cross sections too.. etc. Most of this data depend solely on geometrical aspect of airframe. How come that airframe can over perform? Is it better to lower performance if not sure about than aggregate it? And what is most important thing set on single airframe should be applicable for all other airframes too reducing time needed to develop next model. egg. Right now M2K can plunge at almost 2000km/h on low alt and escape anything. Nice feature but is it real? Sources say max speed is: Mach 2.2 (2,336 km/h, 1,451 mph) at high altitude/ 1,110 km/h (690 mph) at low altitude. That is at least 75% of error margin over performance. 75% better than in real life ??? How come this model can perform in that way. What if future update of this airframe neglects that 'unrealistic feature' and kicks defensive maneuver out of mirage pilot arsenal? I would be surely pissed of on that. Same cases were with Flanker max speed Cobra full stop and later infamous wing braking feature as response to that previously placed 'error'. Eagle also over performs in some segments. And what when this 'features' comes to judgment pool later. Lot of pissed pilots there and lot of time spent utilizing unrealistic feature, in general learning curve wasted. I'm talking about DCS as full feature simulator here, at least at basic and primitive level of pure aerodynamics performance.
  23. How come that 'known data' is so dynamic and usually degradable? I would really like to learn under performing flight model first than over performing one.
