  1. That's only speculation there, but ... a lot of hard work has gone into making such a beautiful 3D cockpit for the F-15, just to see it used in a sim where you can't even click anything ... I wouldn't be surprised to see the exact same cockpit used in some future DCS module ;)
  2. Yup, if the features list put more emphasis on that and less on DCS World features I'd have nothing to whine about actually.
  3. Playing on the words ("key FC3 features" is not "exclusive" indeed) is what gets people here to wonder what are the differences between an FC3 feature and the same thing they can already see in DCS World. While there's no difference at all. The way it's said in the announcement, it's strongly implies the features are for FC3 only, once again. Which is true, but only for a part of them.
  4. Good catch. I remembered the wrong price because pretty much everyone got it at $40 or below, with steam sales or such. Even the pre-purchase, beta version price was lower than that isn't it ? If FC3 is gonna be $25 after 3 monthes then ok. Never said that. The issue is to sell exclusive FC3 features that aren't. Let's phrase it "for $40 you get compatibility with DCS World which has these core features : ..." and you won't get to see those confused people who ask what is only in FC3 or not. And they can decide if it's worth it or not. That won't even change much. A lot of people will buy it anyway, because they want to support ED, because they want to get online with their friends who already have other modules, etc. Trying to get even more through misleading advertising that's targeting the fanbase is really not needed.
  5. Once again you fail to realise where the problem is. FC3 costs the same as DCS Warthog when it first came out. Can you even compare the number of improvements in both ? Obviously not. People who have been loyal to Lock On from the start will have spent around $150 to stay up to date, and they still get the most unrealistic experience of what DCS World has to offer, compared to all other modules, especially the A-10 which has cost us only $40 so far. It would have been a lot more fair to sell the A-10 at an higher price tag (maybe $60) because the huge feature list totally deserved it, and FC3 at a much lower one (20-25). And mind you, I say that while I'm on the A-10C and won't buy FC3 anyway, being done with FC at the moment I first tried the A-10. Obviously the people at ED need to feed their families, nobody says they should work for free. But you have to see there's a huge incoherence in the price tags that puts the burden on the most loyal customers among the fanbase. Also as I already stated the way FC3 is advertised is misleading. You already clarified that when you answered me on page 8 - thank you very much : people who buy FC3 pay for a lot of features everyone else will get for "free", because somebody or "something" has to pay for it. The problem is the way it's advertised on page 1 - really not the same thing. You can already see along this thread that a lot of people are confused, understanding that the expanded theater, additionnal 3d models, effects, AI or whatever will be actually different from what they can get for free by just downloading DCS World. Ok, they'll get to enjoy some of these features in a different, better way, everyone got that. Firing an AFM R-73 from a Su-27 is likely to be a lot more pleasant than being hit by an AFM Strela in my A-10. But still - expanded theatre, resources manager, new 3d models, how's that any different between FC3 and DCS World ? Why are these "key FC3 features" at all ? So the artificialy expanded features list is just a way to try and justify the high price tag - just like it was done for BS2. But a lot of them are not "key FC3 features" at all. I'd be much more happy if ED just said "okay we need more money to keep going and do more high fidelity stuff in the future, please buy FC3 to support us". A lot of people already understood it that way and will be happy to buy FC3 just for the sake of buying something from ED. I'd totally buy a DCS module $100 if it delivers an high-fidelity plane and a several feet long "key features list" that doesn't need any bloating to look solid. But the way it's done here, telling people they'll get FC3 features that are already in DCS World (the "expanded theatre" is the best example), is misleading at best, and once again it's a way of milking the people that have been around here for the most time. So for $40, you can either get the A-10C, or bring network compatibily to your old planes, have wheels that don't stick to the ground, and a 6DOF cockpit that looks so great I'd be surprised not to see it in DCS : Eagle at some point. Yep. Seems fair. Edit : I say ED but when it comes to commercial strategy and business decisions, I guess TFC has the most responsibility in those.
  6. No this is perfectly clear now, thank you.
  7. So basically FC3 customers will pay for features that others will get for free right ?
  8. Indeed this is yet another DCS World feature. You can already put an AI F-15 against 4 opponents and see how it goes. In fact it works since DCS Warthog ... So just about those 2 items, you confirm this is something only FC3 customers will get (as it's a key feature for the FC3 they bought), and that DCS World users don't have these features already or will never get them in the form of a free patch ?
  9. That "key features" list is only accurate from the point of view of someone upgrading from FC2 to FC3. That's a way to justify the high price tag, because telling people "our old code was a mess and we had to work a lot just to get those planes into DCS World" might not convince as much. And honestly that's perfectly fine by me. ED isn't working for free, they need to make money, that's the way to go. But you can't expect that no one will see through the communication, especially since it's the second time it happens. A lot of the "loyal customers" know the drill by now. I'll say again. Everything that is not specific to some FC2 plane (like the F-15C cockpit) is already in DCS World, or if it's not, it shall come around as a free patch. It was exactly the same with BS2 upgrade. Apart for some bug fixes, every "key feature" was already in DCS Warthog at that time. After all, do you really mean that we don't already have the expanded map, better mission editor, resource management, better AI, better models, etc etc, in DCS World ? Come on ..
  10. Just fire up DCS World. Apart from the new F-15 cockpit, everything that's announced for FC3 is already there.
  11. ;) To fully align the INS during ramp start you just need to wait long enough before switching it to NAV mode. Wait until it shows T=4.0 0.8 ;)
  12. Absolutely not, Azrayen & me & all others from 3rd wing pretty much use the same name everywhere ;)
  13. You can fly the Su-25T solo for free though, then decide if it's worth the money or not :)
  14. Two things you can check (from my failing memory, can be innacurate) - the bomb must be shown as RDY on the DSMS, and not ALN UNS. If it's not RDY you may try to do a 360° to correct the problem, - your INS must be fully aligned. If not, IIRC you may not be able to switch on the EAC anyway. The bomb might never go into RDY state if the INS isn't fully aligned. Hope this helps :)
  15. Don't know if it has been discussed before, the search function didn't get me anything relevant :) Basically I'd like to be able to use a mission trigger that would send a text message over SADL network. It would need one field for the text and one field for the recipients, ideally with the same format than the in-cockpit MSG function (i.e 0001 for all members of SADL group 01) That would be a more immersive way to send mission related messages to A-10C clients than using the usual on-screen message trigger. Thanks :)
  16. And solved here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91666 ;)
  17. Buffeting at high AOA, pretty sure it wasn't there before World came out. Nice touch :) The view also shakes a little when rolling on the ground, only tested it on those big concrete tiles from soviet era so far ;)
  18. In the ada mod the vapor effect is hard wired into the 3d model, it's not a separate 3d model and cdds file, so you won't be able to port it easily to another airplane (sadly) :)
  19. DCS is widely derived from Lock On / Flamming Cliffs that already had several aircrafts such as the F-15 and Su-27 capable of going as high as level 1000 (35k meters). So basically the very high altitude experience in DCS is likely to be the same : dark sky and visible stars in plain daylight, but flat earth ;) It's actually a funny question because at some point Lock On was all about fast movers, and we were wondering if the environnement would be any good from the point of view of a Ka-50 (when it wasn't yet released). And now tanks are coming ;)
  20. Looks like the same F-15 HUD you can find on the FC2 standard loading screen ;) (\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\FUI\Common\StartImage-2.bmp)
  21. Seems it's not going to happen and the people at VRS are very, very bitter that "someone" secured the deal with ED before them. http://forums.vrsimulations.com/forums/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8548#p61088 Still hoping for a DCS : F-18C by ED :)
  22. Quick reaction, well done ;)
  23. The user on ED forums and the website have been registered the same day : http://forums.eagle.ru/member.php?u=90326 http://domainsigma.com/whois/coretexdesigns.com Also Core Tex Designs -> CTD I smell fish :P Edit : also the whois information now shows "private registration", but it was not the case at first ;) Altough I have no clue as to who this person with the initials C.H. really is (not showing up anywhere, facebook etc). There is an F-18F test pilot with the nearly the same name but that seems a bit far fetched :P
  24. As a matter of fact you already needed it for FC1 and FC2 :) (just in case)
  25. In fact you have the exact release date, February 2, 2026 :P
