  1. We know but that's okay, buddy. We know that. But hey, no hard feelings. You do you. However, I hope that "cheating" doesn't mean what you think we do. Well, we fly the JF-17 to the limit, a legal limit! Why?! Because we can and because the FCS allows it! But don't worry...you'll get behind it exactly why we do this. And then we talk again...just try the things we were talking about above. Just try these things. I'll point to getting scores of 17/0 on GS server, meanwhile...just do it. Enjoy your weekend, Paco. Viper´s out. Thank you.
  2. As for now, go for Syria if you want perfection - UGRA did a tremendously good job at making this map the best map in DCS (my opinion). If you have money to spare, then invest it in DCS Kola. The map is great but is lacking the final polish - it has just been released today, so...! If you want a map without any flaws...well, than please go for DCS Syria...you just can´t go wrong with this map. Do I still recommend DCS Kola? Hell, yeah! Buy it! Thank you.
  3. Bought as promised. ;-D The map looks great and the performance is good too. The download size is hefty, I'm afraid I'm starting to need a new SSD. But no matter, now all we need is Northern Lights on the Kola Map and the map will be spectacular...what can I say, I've wanted a map like this since EF2000. The release went great...I'm happy.
  4. I am aware of this and I mostly agree. I am also fully aware what the manual states about the FCS. But here is the thing…Skywalker asked if it can be done and I told him how to do it. You can do really wild stuff with the Jeff that way… Should the FCS be used that way? Probably not because you basically override the built in safety features. But as a pilot I absolutely do not care. If I can manage to fly the jet in this very configuration to get an edge over my opponent I will absolutely do it. While it might take some getting used to flying the Jeff to its absolute limits it is fully worth it. Do I want to defend against a missile at high speed at only 6G available or will I take the 9G option? You might damn well know my answer. Remember your goal is to always max-perform your jet to get her home and not to recite the manual. Fighting is for men, not for intellectuals… In a doghfight at slower speeds using only DIR LINK (EFCS has to be in AUTO, then!) gives you a tremendous amount of AOA if I need it and I do overshoot the normal limits. Try it against a Hornet or a M2K in a 1 circle when you are really slow. See what happens and what this jet can do. Again, I absolutely do not care what is written in the manual - which by the way also actively discourages the use of the gun in A/A. Ridiculous, try harder. Let me put it this way…use these functions only if you understand BFM. You should never end up slow in an unfavorable position…I think we can both agree on that. Thank you.
  5. Well, you sure can. So, for example when defending against a missile and you do a split S while being quite fast you can easily go beyond 9G. Just switch the EFCS on and make sure you also are in DIR LINK. As long as you are fast this gives you more available G. When you are starting to get slower switch EFCS back off. Also, for normal maneuvering, I always fly with DIR LINK on. That way I have no problem reaching 8G+ between 360-390 kts. I believe this mode takes the weird AOA restriction off of your jet so I actually feel very comfortable dogfighting this way. Just make sure you switch DIR LINK off again before landing… So yeah, the Jeff is certainly not as limited as some people think. Just use these modes…play around with them and you see what I mean. DIR LINK works wonders when fighting a Hornet, for example… ;-D
  6. Yup, this has to be a bug. Missile works fine - camera does not. Since this bug report did not have a track attached I will hereby provide one showcasing the potential bug in a simple mission on Caucasus... C701T Camera bug.trk
  7. ORBX is known for very high quality. I guess roughly around $50 will be reasonable, though. Pretty much standard in DCS, I believe...nothing to worry about
  8. So, in the newsletter about the CH-47F I was quite critical. I have to admit that. But let me adjust that here today really quick. The early access of the Kola Map came as quite a surprise for me. I mean, does anyone remember EF2000 from 1995? I loved the Sim! So, this map is an absolute must for me - it is an instant buy. And yes, I have indeed become weak, but I want this map! And yes, I was also someone who was very vocal for a DCS Afghanistan map back then. Having said that it would probably be borderline stupid for me not to buy the map, right? Right. Well, with that out of the way i am on board with that, too. The CH-47 is a different story, though. The CH-47 just isn't for me, but if you can quickly get the Kiowa into Early Access, then you'll have me with that module, too. The Kiowa is a mean little bird and I really want this thing in my hangar. ED...I sometimes love and hate you at the same time but at least we finally have a lot of content now so even though all this hassle is going on with a certain 3rd party developer in the background...perhaps we should still appreciate that we're going to get quite some shiny stuff early this summer...
  9. Okay, if this is backed up by your SME then so be it. Thank you for taking the time to clarify this.
  10. I wholeheartedly agree with you. We do appreciate all the work going into the F-16. But the current state of the F-16 forced me to park it in the hangar for some time. I am a Viper guy from the very beginning but at this time frustration keeps me from using it which is truly sad. I hope we will see an improvement in the very near future. Be it a quicker rollout of bugfixes between major patches or whatever. The current situation is not okay, though.
  11. Indeed. The manufacturer explicitly mentions A/A modes for the Aselpod. Now, from my understanding the WMD-7 is literally the same pod. I realize that the sensor has a slightly different camera setup, though. A bit of clarification from DEKA would be highly appreciated. I leave a picture from the unclassified brochure here so you can see for yourself. Thank you.

    exocet!

Won´t happen. Sadly. The F1M has the corresponding radar mode but the Exocet has never been used by the Spanish Air Force. It is what it is. Then again, the F1M will be quite a nice jet...it still does not have Mode 4 interrogator, though. It will have a few nice upgrades, though. That´s quite something something - you will see. Please understand, that the Spanish Air Force did not acquire all possible weapon combinations for the Mirage F1. We won´t get the MARTEL or the AS.30, either. It will be the Spanish version, with all pros and cons...it is what it is...
  13. As the title suggests, we are now in 2024 and the JF-17 is still one of the best modules in DCS. I recently started flying the JF-17 regularly in PvP again and it's just wonderful - still just wonderful. The flight model, the radar...everything. It's still just fun. So if you're still thinking about purchasing the JF-17...do it! You will not regret it. Yes, there are still bugs...there are some issues, but...but in my opinion there is nothing that is "game breaking" and the module is complete and out of EA. Also, and since the J-8 II has already been announced, I will definitely buy it, the JF-17 will continue to receive support, DEKA has done a great job over the years and so we are probably on the safe side here. Awww yes, the Jf-17...the Jefff...I just love that little thing. Thank you DEKA. Looking forward to the J-8 II!
  14. I hadn't even noticed the whole dispute until now, I just had too much to do this week. I've only just absorbed the entire available context, which I will not comment on. I'll put it this way, I am shocked. For the moment, as a customer, I'll accept this statement from you. But I would like to point out that this is an extremely serious matter. Not only is the reputation of both sides at stake here, there are a lot of people who, probably just like me, have purchased every module from RAZBAM. Really every module. And I love every single one of them. We had a broadly similar issue with VEAO back then...I really don't want to imagine what would happen if the so-called "worst case" occurs in this case...
  15. Exactly! Just a small sign of good will would do it for most of us, I believe...something that would show they actually care.
  16. That was a small sign of life, I give you that. But apart from that? Really basically nothing. The roadmap has not been updated since July 2023 and the thing is that we have zero information on where OnReTech currently stands with their project. Not even ED seems to know about their current progress. Not even a single word by OnReTech on why they slipped their update at least two times, now. Yeah, that’s indeed what I basically call a comms dead company…really no need to play the white knight here. I mean, look at the comments here. Do you think all these folks make this stuff up? People start getting angry and frustrated…rightly so. At this point we really need a bit more than a few shiny pictures. A sign of good will would be i.e. to at least fix the dreaded bullseye bug. Not even that! Sure, you can do it by yourself but you really shouldn’t have to after nearly a whole year…
  17. Thank you, BN! As always, your intervention in this case is very much appreciated...! This keeps morale high. So again, thank you...
  18. I bought the map last year on the day it was published. By the way, that was on June 8, 2023. Sure, the map is usable, the lighting effects are great and there are no unusual crashes on my system. Still, there are a lot of bugs and a lot of things that leave a lot to be desired. So far, after almost a whole year, we haven't read a single line of text in any changelog. There is no updated roadmap and effectively zero communication from OnReTech. My patience is slowly running out. Rightly so. My patience will end promptly on June 8th, 24, one year after the release. Then we'll have to talk about some form of sanction/compensation from ED if OnReTech hasn't patched it by then. I'm starting to get some slight "VEAO vibes!" Some may still remember the Hawk...! A pretty dark chapter in DCS history. I hope we won't experience something like this again. Ultimately, such behavior from a 3rd party developer always reflects on ED, it is already quite borderline that this is still tolerated in this form...
  19. Damn… Okay, I guess we expected this entire situation already and this basically explains why we have not seen more videos of the F-4, yet…so no hard feelings there. Also, it’s the Phantom so it is certainly worth the wait…I mean, a certain F-4F in a special livery is basically parked right outside my living quarters on my airbase. And from what I saw this very livery will even be included in the DCS F-4E package - how cool is that? IronMike, Cobra…you guys need to promise something, though. As soon as the F-4E is becoming more stable please show real gameplay footage of it to make the wait more bearable. Anyway, good luck guys…
  20. So what we can probably say with certainty at this point is that the F-4E is now in ED's test cycle. And we all know that it can take a few weeks. Especially when a module brings so many potential innovations within the framework of DCS. So what can we do? We can only wish Heatblur that they have submitted a good test build and that they manage to eliminate all bugs in the next 14 days and that they manage to present a release candidate during this period. However, that might not be quite that easy. What I don't understand though...why doesn't any of the usual YouTubers have access to the F-4E? I mean, it may be that Heatblur is just too busy to make more videos at the moment...okay, but then why can't the usual YouTubers present some content in the meantime? I don't understand. In any case, that would make the waiting time much more bearable and prevent any speculation.
  21. Good to see you guys keeping our morale up...indeed, this is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  22. Okay, let me respond to your statement for a moment, because I think in this case it's important. Yes, I am not a native speaker of English. However, I found the above comment completely unfunny, especially after other information had already been announced by Heatblur. Why should you find it funny when a comment like this leads to even more uncertainty in the community? There's already a pretty heated debate going on about the whole release thing at the moment (~450 comments + about this issue alone on Discord 2 days ago!!!), so why add even more fuel to the fire? I think it would be of more use to everyone here if a short summary of the Discord discussion with the current facts from Heatblur can be read. We've had, at least in my opinion, enough jokers, speculation and uncertainty...at this late stage, I think we should concentrate on the facts given by Heatblur and let Heatblur work in peace. And that's only possible if everyone knows the situation and isn't constantly triggered by such supposedly "fun" statements. Thank you.
  23. You are hopefully aware that the F-4E FAQ section clearly states what exactly their definition of „winter“ is, right? In the FAQ section HB clearly says the F-4E is slated to release into Early Access during the winter period of 2023/2024, right? So why do you come up with that December 2024 stuff? Makes no sense and is not helpful at all. Furthermore, HB yesterday expanded a bit on the March 2024 release window. They did this on Discord by the way. They said they actually plan with the entire month of March so March 20th, 2024 is not their actual deadline to deliver the module. This is obviously new info. HB also reassured people yesterday that they still think they are right on track for a timely release as of now. So, since this might be a bit confusing with previous perceptions of their statements we should, as always, apply the good old rule „things are subject to change“…
