New Warthog? Here's the TARGET tutorial I wish I'd had.
Rocky49 replied to GregP's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
My understanding is that you can use the pinky paddle as a modifer and then double up on your assignments in Dx mode ie no TARGET. Is this not right? -

Please note from Wags post reguarding lastest patch Note: v1.1.1.1 will break any joystick or keyboard config that uses custom modifier keys - It is a simple fix to re-add the Custom Modifier Key to the Modifier list. Hope this makes it clear what happened -

Keeping TM Warthog plugged in?

Thanks for your input  I have already downloaded the driver package (2011_TMWH_1) ready to install the drivers then update the firmware. -
Keeping TM Warthog plugged in?
Rocky49 replied to Rocky49's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
So it would appear that there is no one right way...although it appears that you can leave unplugged without incident maybe:huh: i wonder if this "bricking" just happens because of an errant spike or because of random faults in individual joystick construction? -
I am getting a Warthog HOTAS for Christmas. I noted in another thread about motherboards and "bricking" that there has been some discussion about leaving the Warthog plugged in all the time and whether using a USB Hub might cause problems. I normally only have my current HOTAS (X52PRO) plugged into a powered USB Hub when actually using it. Also can't find any mention if the firmware/driver update released in Feb addressed this issue. Can you simply unplug from a powered USB port without issue.

Post MotherBoard Specs Of Bricked TM Warthogs Here Please
Rocky49 replied to twobells's topic in Thrustmaster
I am getting a Warthog for Christmas and I note that earlier in this thread there was some concern about where you plug in and whether you should power down the HOTAS at all...I don't usually keep my current HOTAS (X52 PRO) plugged in all the time and really don't have room to have the TM WARTHOG on my desk all the time. -
Thank-you for the price info but I live in Canada so would have to pay duty to bring it home
-
Thanks for the tip but Tigerdirect is now 399.00 same price as NCIX .
-
Thanks for the input  Anybody know if NCIX.com is an "authorized" dealer for TM. TM's webpage does not list any Canadian dealers

I am thinking about replacing my X52 Pro with the TM Warthog but I am worried about the ongoing issues with it....It seems that there are still lots of cases of poor construction with respect to some components in the throttle assembly as well has having to replace? The grease in the stick....I would not be too comfortable in taking apart a $500 controller so that I get the best performance ....after all isn't that why you pay big bucks for.

Thanks for the info

Is a new Manual needed with the latest version of A-10C. I understand there were some modifications/improvements made in Ver 1.1.10

Didn't see any mention of the CBU 97/105 change in wags announcment today

Weta43: I have installed and tested your Label mod you made for me....It is a little too much like no labels cause I can't see any better than with no labels...could I tweek the colors back to red and blue but still keep the smaller size?
-
Weta43: Thank-you for your kindness. I will give it a try:thumbup: Cibit: Thanks for the support....I have no idea why Zakata became so hostile...he makes out that I asked for help then did not appreciate his effort...I did appreciate his effort but not his attitude. Modifying software is not something I am comfortable about...that being said i can replace the label.lua file with the one downloaded by Cibit :). I do have notepad plus plus installed. Again thanks for help, that includes Zakata!

Weta43: Thank-you for the information...Right now I am too pissed off to try to apply your information but thanks for the info.....Like I said...I can fly I just can't program....Maybe I have reached that point where I need to just back off...The flying part of the A-10C is easy...it is trying to make the rest of it work..I have good equipment and a not too bad understanding of flight and combat but having to learn how to re-program the simulation is just to much.
-
I just have to say one more thing.....This is a flight sim....not a computer programming sim.....I can fly in real life...can you.....I don't need a snotty comment about my lack of understanding about lau files...I just can't see the targets out the windscreen of the A-10C as simulated by ED. I can pick off all kinds of small items from miles away in real life from 8000 feet..but not in this sim...I am trying to adapt the program to enhance my real life experience but because I am not a computer programmer I get heat from guys like J. Hiller and Zakatak. Well if thats not right...Maybe ED needs to address this...
-
If I follow you, you are saying...where the blue printing in the lau has a number value change that to zero, leave red values alone and disregard black printing?
-
Zakatak: See, this just makes my point....I have no idea what line or numbers you are talking about.
-
I also am intimidated by messing around with the lua files...I have looked at other mods ie radio display size location changes via lua...when I try to follow the instructions, which by and large the community members here do a good job on, I just can't seem to get to where they are pointing  This may be a factor of age but I wish there was an incremental step between no labels and labels...the labels are too big and do impede your aim especially on a cannon run.

I also have a kindle but can not have because I am in Canada. I love these international rules about book purchases...I find this happens quite frequently:( -
Well, now I really feel stupid:doh: thanks for the quick response :pilotfly:

159 Viper: I have looked on the cp but could not find any mention about warnings...just the two positive threads...so what I am hearing then is that there is no way to remove this?
-
panzertard: I never received any notification about a warning, one day it was just there..I guess I am being sensitive but as I said in post 1, I have never seen anybody else with this badge of shame so I would like to apply for a pardon:smilewink:
