Thanks for the response. I have the latest Nvidia Driver 466.27, which, up to Yesterday worked great on DCS. I do not have the KB4589212 installed. My version of Windows 10 is 20H2 KB4023057 which was installed 29 April, prior to this latest DCS update and worked great.

Latest update totally wrecked my experience. At first it just crashed every time I tried to load a mission via Mission Editor, then I did a complete repair and got mission to start but framerates were totally unplayable. Prior to yesterday's update I was running very smoothly with framerates locked to 45. crash log was submitted

Can't proceed past load mission I have run a complete repair and can get it to run but now framerates are so low that it can't be played dcs.20210507-163639.crash

I would concur with divine. Having 24GB vrs 11 GB with my 2080TI would explain the difference

How are you starting DCS? I have found that if I start SteamVR, which also starts the WMR app, then put on my G2 headset and select DCS inside the Steam app it launches correctly without crashing back to the WMR app. If I start DCS via the Desktop icon I get crashes like you describe.

I have had to amend my procedure since recent updates by SteamVR. Instead of just starting the SteamVR app which also starts the WMR app, then clicking on my DCS App on my desktop. If I do it that way now I will have issues with the Headset screens shutting down in DCS and switching to the Clifftop house, with an error message about a failure in the SteamVR application. Instead, I now start via SteamVR, which also opens the Windows portal, I put on the headset and the SteamVR screen shows recently used application. I select the DCS app and open using hand controller. DCS loads and I have no further problems with the SteamVR issue.

I found that starting DCS from within SteamVR has stopped the issue of a black screen in the headset and the game still running on the monitor. Coming from Oculus, I had never even thought about unplugging the power supply as I never did that with my Rift or Rift S. I am unplugging the power cord on the headset connector and the white logo light on the headset is now off. To be clear, my headset was not "hot" to the touch but merely slightly warm. I don't think the headset is "powered up" when sitting idle, I think it was just the illumination of the HP logo that having the power supply connected. I'm not sure if having the logo illuminated would be a cause for concern, long term?

I have also experienced crashing back to the cliff house if I don't start DCS from within WMR/steamVR

My specs are in my signature I prefer to keeps setting higher and just leave Syria map after each Mission Haven't seen any posts about Optimizing being done recently on the Syria Map

I find that I must leave the Syria map after flying a Single User made Mission, otherwise my frame rates drop below 30. The low framerates continue in the Splash page until I select another Map, such as Persia, Nevada. My system then no longer has the issue and I can fly in any of the other Maps without issue for as long as I want and for as many Missions as I want.

So, it is controlled by right Shift and T now. Can't assign a button to it yet.

Yah, I am going to bind it to a switch on my throttle. Can't bind any of my joystick buttons to this at this time.

Ysiad-rip That worked, but have to reset it every time I start a Huey mission, Kinda clunky. Thanks for the info.

VR page does not show anything to couple\uncouple head tracking for mini gun. There may be a simple solution but so far I have looked at all the control assignments for the Huey but do not see anything about the Advanced View or gunner view or gun direction.

Yes I see that but I can not find these Advanced View setting anywhere.

looks like the control changes in Huey and screwed up Tracking via VR for the Mini Gun. Gun no longer slews when you move your head, only moves via input by mouse.

As of today, in VR, Mini gun no longer tracks head movement, only controlled by mouse.

Thank-you for your response. I also did a clean Nvidia driver from October 2020 which helped. It also increased my frame rates a small amount.

Are you getting a shutdown of SteamVR App only, DCS and WMR still running. SteamVR shows an error message, SteamVR encountered a Critical Error. This started about two weeks ago for me. Also getting huge random frame rate drops on Syria map when changing slot or exiting the Mission. The Frame rate loss continues back to the splash screen and will continue until I select a different Mission, then frame rates increase back to expected range.

Yes still happening, before Version 1.15.15 all was well, no crashing at all!!! I am lead to believe that you can not roll back to a previous version of SteamVR. I also have the Open XR programs installed.

For me, the crashing started after version 1.15.15
