I tried that on with shadows on high + default object shadows, deffered shading, cockpit illumination on and the cockpit still lights up. Weird reflections inside of the intakes also exist with those settings.
-
Update: This actually also happens without VR.
-
Can confirm landing lights in the cockpit too.
-
I can confirm that. In Viggen extended performance data flickers like crazy in VR. Also tested that in SU 25 and it only happens when mirrors are enabled.
-
I even remember that there was a guy with a disabled leg who was asking for single axis brakes to work. And that was about a year ago.
-
Hey! I am flying in VR. The HUD is practically invisible 2.1 in daytime, even on the brightest setting. The HUD is also too dim in Su 25 by default but there the brightness can be adjusted much higher up which eliminates the problem.

Must read For FlyInside users with performance problems in DCS!

I actually posted on the forum a while ago describing my problem, but never got a reply. My nick there is Hideki2 if you wish to take a look. :) -

Hi Tony! Please excuse my wording. I was excited by my find when I wrote that. You are right that it might be system specific. However At least one person on DCS facebook where I also posted reported that it also worked for them. Unfortunately Fly Inside never worked correctly for me. Build in ASW seems to be independent from Oculuses ASW(I could never force ASW through Oculus try tool). And it never works correctly in P3d or FSX for me. I keep getting 46 - 47 frames and the ground is jumping back and forth when I look to the side while flying. And most crucially: After running FlyInside this same happens in DCS, even if I restart the PC as if Flyinside did something to the driver. until I reinstall driver I get 46/47 fps in DCS and stuttery/jumpy surrounding. I am running very clean system that has been wiped for 2 weeks ago and had those problems ever since I tried Flyinside. Any way Thanks for noticing my post and sorry if I came out offensive. I really wasn't my intention. -

Sorry, but you misunderstood me. I meant if you ever use FlyInside for FSX/P3D/X-plane on your machine than it messes up native VR in DCS. At least on my PC. -
Experiencing DCS 1.5 being a stutter mess in Oculus? Using FlyInside for any of its supported platforms? Well here is your problem! Just reinstall your Nvidia GPU driver and never ever EVER start FlyInside again! Now you can enjoy buttery smooth DCS despite having just a GTX970! Seriously guys. I barelly played DCS anymore because it never run smooth even on absolute lowest settings it was stuttering and ASW was running at weird 45/46/47 fps instead of 45 or 90. And than after I was forced to update my GPU driver and accidentaly decided to try DCS it was uber smooth, so I decided to try FlyInside as well. It run like crap, as usually. BUT!!! After that DCS Run like shit again, until I reinstalled GPU driver again. Seriously FlyInside does something bad to ASW. Sorry for a long post, but I hope this wil help some of you. Now I am able to run DCS 1.5 in VR on medium and its absolutely silky smooth and hardly any ASW artefacts.

Thanks Art-J! That's a very comprehensive answer. :smartass:

I was playing WT in VR the other day and have been thinking. In a turning battle when you are leading the guns the nose of your plane tends to completely obscure the target, giving him a chance to change direction. I wonder why didn't they point the guns slightly up so that you wouldn't loose the sight of the enemy in a turning fight. I mean I know It would make attacking ground targets almost impossible, but is should work well on a pure fighter aircraft. What do you guys think?

Easter egg found: thank you Leatherneck !!!!

The pilot should also get a cold and a sniffy nose! Btw that has to suck when you have to wear the oxygen mask. -
Hello! Just reporting that "Attack the camp" Throws an error message after the command bunker gets destroyed. Also There is a typo in mission selection screen. The tittle says: "Atttack the camp"

RB04 does less damage than RB15. Is that correct?
hideki2 replied to hideki2's topic in Bugs and Problems
I did some more research at different angles and distances, and most of the time they just dont hit the target. In my video, on both attempts the rocket didn't touch the ship, hence white puff. When they hit properly you get a fireball. Anyway I have one hit about 1/3 of the times, and had two hit and ship sunk only once so far. Ps. I also tried messing with QNH to make them fly at a different alt, but it has no influence. -

hideki2 replied to hideki2's topic in Bugs and Problems
I will test that tomorrow, but I don't think that's the case. I tried launching them waaay out of range and they seem to glide and track for ever. That time it hit the target while carrying only 500km/h of speed. -
Rb 04 despite having a bigger warhead than RB 15 fails to sink Russian frigate every time. Rb 15 on the other hand is very effective. Attempt #1 Explosion of one of the missiles wipes out the other due to not enough spacing in launch. Attempt #2 Two Rb 04 launched about 10 sec or so from each other. Attempt #3 Two Rb 15 eliminate the target. Here is a video demonstration:

When I press Radar filter knob few systems are out..
hideki2 replied to Skulleader's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
That's because Radar filters don't seem to be implemented yet, and you are pressing fast erect button instead, that resets all gyroscope driven instruments. -
I'm loving the plane so far. One thing to report is that in CCIP training mission the narrator tells you to set up QFE to 1012 instead of what stands in the chart for the target which is 1052 or so. It took me 3 hours to figure out why I was dropping way short all the time. With 1052 its a direct hit. Also dropping the HUD to a lower position seems necessary but isn't mentioned.

Sonic boom causes my HDD to spike and game freezes for 1-2 seconds. I had no idea what was going on but I started eliminating variables and concluded that it must be sound. When I approach and pass mach 1 game lags and hdd spikes. I copied game from SSD to HDD, tried max and min settings, tried preload from min to max, disabled sound card in BIOS, different planes nothing helps and problem exists on open beta and stable. I can replicate it every time by letting plane over mach 1 do a fly by with F3 it lags when sound catches up every time. also in F2 view when rotating camera at supersonic it lags when sound cuts in all that even without the sound device in the system! I have no idea what is going on! My specs are I7 2600k at 4.5 Ghz 16Gb RAM and an GTX 970. Pinpointing the issue took mi 3 hours of testing. Can any one help? Maybe someone also experiences that ? I have no idea what to do :( Since it happens no matter if its SSD or HDD and without sound card it must be a game issue. Any ideas?

Thanks, I just checked in AJS 73 manual and it is VSI. Its funny, but not being able to find it was really frustrating. Anyway, here it is:

I didn't noticed it before, you might be right. Now that you pointed that out, it looks like so in the latest Leatherneck video. That would be very odd. I hope its not like that. Viggens HUD is really something else and it WILL take some getting used to. Anyway I will go take a second look at the manual, now that I got that clue about ADI.
