Can anyone explain to me the lack of vertical speed indicator in AJS 37's pit? There also doesn't seem to be one on the HUD. I always thought that this is one of the most important instruments in the pit, so lack of it baffles me. I also went briefly through the first part of the Swedish manual for Viggen all the way to the HUD part, however it might be that my limited understanding of the Swedish language could have made me miss something.

TRIM NOT WORKING
hideki2 replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Thanks for help, and sorry for my mistake. I assumed that this was the newest version, because my DCS refused to update. Anyway, I forced update through CMD and now everything works again. Thank you good sir! -
TRIM NOT WORKING
hideki2 replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
I also have that bug in the newest version 1.54.55169! Trim does not work on any aircraft, FFB option is disabled. I can see trim buttons reacting in the cockpits, but no reaction from control surfaces/rotors/input display. Ignore my signature, Im using an TM Warthog now. -

Bump? How is progress on the grip going? -
Thanks :) Yes, I always try to replicate this same situation. I know, with DCS its like chasing unicorns. But I was just curious. I was on a budget when I was buying RAM back in the day, its actually quite old. I used to have 8Gb but one module went bad. (Luckily I found recently that Corsair has lifetime warranty on ram) Except for SSD and GPU the rig is quite old, but I love my CPU. There fore I'm replacing my dying motherboard instead of building new system. That has to be supper annoying to have crossfire setup and likeing DCS at this same time. I used to have 6990 but it drove me mad in DCS because of build in crossfire. A little off topic :)

In an effort to try what you just said I sat in my Huey parked on Kabuleti apron south, started her up and noticed something interesting: looking forward I have around 110FPS heaviest loaded core is at around 40%. However looking back in the cockpit it dipped down to around 70fps no change in CPU load. Quickly upped the GPU clock in MSI afterburner and fps lifted up a notch. So its the GPU and not CPU that's being maxed out in this instance. I'm interested in that matter because on Elbrus rescue when I look back in the cockpit I dipp down to about 30FPS for some reason with a GTX 970. Ps. Could you explain that to me? Note low fps while low GPU and CPU utilization

So as I stated in the title. I have a i7 2600k witch is an 4 core cpu. I monitored behavior of each core while playing DCS and non of the cores ever excide about 60% of utilization. However overclocking CPU from 4.2Ghz which is what i usually run to 4.5Ghz gives a significant boost in fps. How come? Since according to core utilization non of the cores were even close to being maxed out on 4.0 Ghz. Could any one elaborate on that topic? Thanks Hideki2

You are very much welcome to do that. About MSFFB2 Exactly! I would like to get rid of dead zone too. I'm just afraid that one day ED can remove piece of code that enables devices to share FFB signal, and than all mods will be just waste of time and cash. Ps. Screw this, BodnarsBoard ordered! -
I wonder what correct FFB for Sidewinder means. Just reversed axis? Or Proper damping and friction effects.

Would be awesome to have Hawk!

Thanks for reply! Steering damper looks promising. Those gas struts are no go, as they always have also spring action in them. -

Currently I use those shocks http://www.ebay.com/itm/181423862661?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Even after filling them with a much heavier oil they show very little resistance. Maybe I could get some recommendations? The ones shown above are perfect fit in size for my pedals. Ps. Perhaps i should be more clear. I emptied them from factory oil which was giving almost no damping. I filled them with castrol 10w40 I had stashed around, now I can feel some resistance, but certainly not what i need, Today i will try differential oil which is super thic w80 - 90 ish? I hope it will be better. Otherwise I'm open to suggestions. Also I might not need to mod my joystick after all! User @Avarage_pilot has made an app that introduces damping into ffb stick, I will give it a go later today. I still need shocks in pedals sorted out tho. -
Hello! Is there anyone here that knows something about RC Shock absorbers? I want to give my Rudder and cyclic more "hydraulic" feel. I already fitted some rc shocks into my CH Pro Pedals, but I'm not satisfied with the effect as they are way to soft. especially that the only way I can mount them is pretty close to rudder pivoting point. I need RC shocks that are relatively small (about 15 - 20cm fully extended) that have as much damping as possible. Or maybe anyone has a better idea? Later today I will post some pictures of my rudder pedals. I also want to add four shocks to my extended MSFFB2.

I found what I was looking for. Thanks! Thread can be closed.

That is an amazing coincidence! I will buy you a chocolate bar if you will give us feedback:) Correct me if I'm wrong, you would have to split output from the pots between msff2 board and Leo's board? or does msff not need input from its pots for ffb? I always thought that joy judges position of stick according to what pots say to precisely output ffb -

well I think it becomes an issue when you wish to extend the stick, but reduce throw. Than you can't use full range of pots, so resolution decreases. -

Hey guys! I just found this: http://www.leobodnar.com/products/BU0836A/ do you think it would be somehow possible to use this device to significantly increase msffb2 resolution while still retaining ffb? -
I'm using EDtracker with DCS Huey, and I guess it works damn fine, I used to use freetrack, 6Dof was actually driving me crazy. I would say EDtracker is so cheap, you should go for it. Once configured properly yaw drift isn't so bad + you never ever go out of webcam field of view. Which tracking method has its disadvantages. With EDtracker you get a little sensor drift, witch freetrack you get glare errors, and facetracknoir was just working really bad for me (maybe I'm too ugly :megalol:). It was jumpy, inconsistent and generally unreliable.

As it stands in the title. Is there a community that focuses mainly on uh-1? I would like to start my multiplayer adventure with Huey, with some people that know what they are doing and are eager to help a relative noobie, but don't know where to start.

Whiplash Thanks for your tutorial! I had my Stick already extended, but it really dimmed FFB. I was actually surprised how much more bang it got from 1 ohm resistors. I tend to fly with Force trim off for better feel, but when I do need trim, it holds beautifully now.
