  1. Hi there. Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I also find myself wanting a larger text size (preferably in yellow or orange). I tried the changes that were mentioned above, but the moment I save the new LUA and launch the game, it crashes. The only file I modified was the CommandMenu.lua in notepad. I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. I followed the instructions above to the letter. Unless it no longer works with the new patch we got a couple days ago?
  2. I am not 100% sure, but I believe either the A-10C or the F-15 has a training mission that could in theory be modded to accomodate anything in the mission editor. I will have to check and come back with details for you. The only downside is you would have to make sure you have either of those items to see the mission, unless someone manages to make something more universal. edit: I found this thread here. Looks like someone made one for the A-10C. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68563
  3. Both... I absolutely love breaking out any of the planes I have and flying around Georgia/Russia, but I also love doing the combat missions. I am not fully up to speed on the Warthog, since I just got it Tuesday past, but the Frogfoot and I are battle tested!
  4. Thanks for the birthday wishes! I Hope everyone else gets to see the Flanker and hear the music. Good job posting that!
  5. Sounds like you answered your own question. yes I got the standalone Su-27 for my birthday on Tuesday past. I noticed no icon at first till an update a couple days ago, then bam, it was there, as well as the music and wallpaper.
  6. Well, to be frank I did not see any folder for the Su-27... so you got me on that one. However... I cannot deny that my eyes and ears do not lie. I am looking right now at the nose of a Su27 Flanker, and hearing some airy techno kind of music playing. See attached screenshot. Su-27 icon is third from the right by the way.
  7. I have facetrack NOIR. I just bought a new webcam this week to use it with and have been testing it out ever since. On planes like the Frogfoot, Eagle, Flanker, etc it works well! It seems a little too sensitive for the Warthog though. I cannot seem to get it to stay still long enough for me to hit a switch. I suspect I just need to play around some more with the curves. But yeah, loving the hell out of it with the frogfoot and the others! Edit- I started using the Accela filter Wow, I wish I would have known this earlier. What a difference this makes.
  8. Awesome, now I shall get my huey! (cue "Ride Of The Valkyries")
  9. By the way, last night I noticed a brand new Su-27 icon on the main page of the game, and brand new music. Problem solved?
  10. I think what the person was saying BitMaster was that when they switch their IR jammer button on, if the cockpit lights are already on, after 5 minutes it turns the cockpit lights off. I doubt they are turning on the jammer 5 minutes after takeoff, as I see nothing in their post to indicate that is what they are doing.
  11. Hi Denco. On my A-10C profile I made, I set airbrakes to toggles 5 and 6. It works fine there, and if I want it open full I hold down the toggle 6. I can stop it at any time to open it partway by holding it down for less time, or even closing it somewhat with toggle 5. I think I know the profile you were using with the precision slider, but I really hate it in that position because if you forget to push the slider back to the middle position, your joystick won't let you use any other buttons (like the ever important wheel brakes for instance). By the way to delete extra bands there is an edit bands. To the left are some icons that allow you to set it back to one band, then you can add what you need.
  12. Oooh, so I should reread is what you are saying, to see what has changed? :megalol: Good deal!
  13. I will check them out, thanks. I also liked your page on facebook. Keep me abreast of any updates, please. (Goes without saying though)
  14. This thread might be dated, but it just made my day. The F-14 is my absolute favorite of all fighters, and to hear that someone is working on a mod for DCS (which I just started playing last week) is nothing short of exciting. I have some experience making skins (I used to make them for FSX and post on avsim back in the day). I'd love to help when it comes time to make a lot of the historical tomcat squadrons. It is my hope that my logbook can accurately reflect my pilot being a part of the vaunted VF-143 Pukin' Dogs, and be able to fly it in game! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help, whether texturing, or testing! :-D
  15. As much as I love the hell out of the hornet/superhornet, the nostalgic fighter geek in me wants the F-14 Tomcat more than any other plane. I <3 Tomkitty. I thought I saw somewhere that someone made a mod of one? Is this true, and if so, is it available somewhere to try out?
  16. Sorry for the necropost, but I just wanted to mention that this has been an invaluable post for me. I just started playing DCS and after my first couple of flights in the Toad, I was about to delete the game from my hard drive. I read through the first few posts by the OP, took a deep breath, and tried it again. 37 A-G kills later, I am by no means an expert, but I am REALLY starting to enjoy the hell out of this sim! Thank you OP from the bottom of my heart for this thread. Fly Frogfoot! Go Ukraine! Signed- "Chernyy Rossii"
