  1. I cannot wait to see the finished mission. Will this be on multiplayer, or will there be a singleplayer version?
  2. OK I have sent you an email with three wav files attached. Let me know if they are what you are looking for. Thanks.
  3. Hmm... I might give this a shot. You want raw voice? Or synthesized to sound like it is coming through a radio?
  4. I thought I saw this on someone's youtube recently, but I could not figure out if it was a mod to the game, or the magic of editing. Please let me know if you get an answer to this, as I am very curious too.
  5. I am torn on the subject of labels... It depends on what I am doing. Since I, like many, make youtube videos of some of my flights, I find that labels ON is useful for the viewer to track what is happening on the screen (that AIM-9 that just narrowly missed me, the F-16 I just turned into 100 falling pieces, etc). So in that regard (Air - Air combat), labels are essential for me to help tell my stories. I DO however have a problem with labels when doing Air - Ground work. The labels get in the way of the actual target, and I cannot aim properly. That is often when I will shut them off. Same for landing on the Admiral Kuznetsov. There is no way I am keeping labels on for that.
  6. Is it something specific to Hueys? Because I just played, recorded, and uploaded to youtube a Mi-8 troop insertion and pickup mission that I created, and everything performed flawlessly. Also what exactly broke? The triggers? some kind of scripting? Naturally I am really curious because over the last few weeks I have been diving headfirst into mission building for the purposes of showcasing them on youtube.
  7. You're fine MJ. I already updated it and experienced no ill effects. You should be good to go.
  8. Wait... you mean there are MORE potential switches to flip in this behemoth? LOL I kid... I love the Hip. I call mine "Big Bertha".
  9. The above answers are spot on. My method is using the HUD in the plane or the compass to figure out where I am pointing, and which way I should be heading. Luckily a lot of the airports we fly out of only have one runway (both directions). One thing I will say though, the more you fly, the more it will become second nature which runway is the active.
  10. Cool beans! Well I guess I will wait and keep checking youtube to see if someone posts one when it is ready to be shown off. Thanks for the answers guys!
  11. That's pretty vague there, scharrk. "Orbit" marked on any waypoint just means you are supposed to orbit at that location to either search for your enemy, or wait for the rest of a flight. It could apply to almost any mission out there. What plane were you in? What server were you on? How long ago was it? Someone out there might know, but they are not gonna find it with the minimal info you have given. if you remember more about it, please let us know.
  12. I want to try my hand at the Mi-8 mission of this (rescuing the General) Is this server still up today? I have not seen the DCS Belgian server up in a couple days... but maybe I am not looking at the right times.
  13. I have been looking for videos on this, but have been unable to find anything with any relative ease. I do however hope Dubai is going to be modeled properly, since there are a lot of unique, iconic structures and landmasses there.
  14. Vinny, are you using Notepad++ to edit that? I would not try to edit it with anything else but that. But also make sure the game is not running before you mess with it. Not sure what else could be causing that error.
  15. (pulls up a chair and watches intently!!!) Thank you for this. I am downright woeful with the Hawg and could use all the help I can get to learn the systems, before daring to show my face in multiplayer!
  16. Cool beans. Well let us know when that is, or I will try to catch it online if the server is open.
  17. I actually like the idea of being careful where you shoot. It definitely makes you grow as a virtual combat pilot, if you have to be concerned with minimizing collateral damage. Midnight, is this mission of yours only online, or is it available for download? I'd love to try my hand at that... Of course now I am also keen on coming up with missions like that myself where the objective isn't necessarily to blow everything up but try NOT to blow anything up.
  18. I am normally a "modern air combat ONLY" guy, but Vietnam I can honestly say I would be down for. Probably because I know so many real life vets of that war. It would have to be done right though. I want autogen trees so thick you can smell the jungle humidity coming out of your computer's air vents... I want napalm that wipes out swaths of forest and anything unlucky enough to be living there... I want to hop in my Huey and feel the danger of gunmen I cannot see, lurking below me in the somewhat peaceful village. I also want carrier ops with the Phantom, the Corsair, the Intruder... and the Skyhawk. Hell you can even give me the Sandy and I will be happy with that. I think a map like that should also have to include Laos and Cambodia, since a lot of action that we rarely hear about took place over those lines.
  19. OOH OOH ME ME ME ME!!!!!! And it better have a fully clickable cockpit, and a place to hang biplanes underneath that I can launch from! ED devs... make it happen. GO!
  20. I'm with you on that. I like learning about areas of the world I likely will never be able to go to in real life. That way when I run into someone from Sochi I can be like "Oh yeah, your airport is pretty cool, but do you ever get those pesky Georgians invading from Gudauta to cause a ruckus?"
  21. Heck, they could make it like the Su-33 and Su-25T are now, and I would be happy with that. As much as I love the complex, click all the things, cockpits, sometimes I just want to get in, get up, and get my blast on.
  22. I've been thinking about this poll a lot, and I have to agree with you there. Carrier ops need more love, especially on the Russian side. I think we DO need the Mig 29-K, and a modification to the Su-25T to make it the Su-25UTG/UBP
  23. I have to vote for number 5 on that one... I come to this flight sim for the modern COMBAT. If i wanna fly any of the above aircraft, I have FSX Steam edition (that DOES work now, right? It's totally ready for prime time now and has no bugs, right?)
  24. I am glad you posted this. I am NOTORIOUS for being one of "those guys" that loads up Vikhrs, 58s, 25s, gun pods, and even R-73s for that just in case action...
  25. Thank you for making this. I am in love with the Flanker and Flanker D, and this is just what I need to hone my skills. I will give feedback after I have played it a little later.
