  1. Just remember that AutoBrowse will page the kneeboard to the Interactive Kneeboard every time it displays or updates with new information. For some that's what they want, some are Ok with it and others (like me) absolutely hate it. I use the kneeboard to check frequencies, TACAN etc:, to use checklists, or airfilled diagrams. Last thing I want is the kneeboard jumping all over that place when Vaicom decides it wants to tell me something It all depends what, why and how you use the kneeboard in the game

Ahhh Interesting @speed-of-heat So I just did as you asked and jumped into a module to check it out For any Take X EXCEPT Take 10 in the VA command window I see this TX6 | AUX: [ ] , [ Menu Item 5 ] Recognized : 'take 5' (Confidence 77) For Take 10 I only see this Recognized : 'take 10' (Confidence 90) Just as you've reported, BUT in the module when I said Take 10 it appears that Vaicom did recognize it, as it executed the F10 command Have you tried it in a module (I only tested in SP in a simple mission to see if the Options in the On Screen menu were getting selected) although it's not showing in the VA window bizarrely it's getting executed in the game for me

I'm struggling to understand what you're doing when you say adding an alias, are you just adding in the Take X commands into the Keywords in the Vaicom under the Editor Tab? I would either reload the Database or Reset the Keywords. II'm no expert but it appears that something is wrong there If the command is being Recognized, normally that would indicate that the command is in your Keywords Collection in the Vaicom profile but maybe not in the Keywords in the Vaicom Database, if it's not in the database I don't think it will be recognized by Vaicom. You can see if it's in there by going to the Vaicom Window L_CTL+L_ALT+c and opening the Editor Tab, then looking in the pull down menu that has all the Keywords in there should be a listing from Take 1 to Take 12

Know very little about SRS but it looks to me like the alias is getting recognized Here is what I see if I say Take 2 TX2 | FuG165ZY: [ ] , [ Menu Item 2 ] and F2 gets executed TX1 | SRS 1: [ Wingman 2 ] , [ Menu Item 2 ] So couple of things that I'm sure you've probably already checked, is Take 2 in both the Keyword Database and the Keywords in your VA Vaicom profile, perhaps update Keywords to be sure. I notice SRS 1 is in your command, could it be possibly causing any sort of conflict? I'm thinking that you're using both SRS and Vaicom on the same PTT? Perhaps worth a try with SRS disabled and see what happens? Sorry not much help
  5. I don't know if this helps or not, but you can add the tab commands seperatley, with commands either added or appended to your Vaicom profile. The explanation is in the manual page 46 I believe When this was last asked I put the tab commands into a very small profile that you could use to either append or extract the individual commands to your Vaicom profile, I'm using VSPX and the standard commands don't work well with VSPX. I've had my profile set up this was for ages and the tabs are recognized pretty much flawlessly. All the profile does is Open and Close the Kneeboard (using a DCS Keyboard command) and exectues the "external plug in" Command to tab to the relevant Interactive Kneeboard tab. Just delete any commands you don't want and change the "When I Say" to what works for you, Rocket Science it's not Interactive Kneeboard-Profile.zip
  6. Just placed an order with VKB Europe Problem is shipping at the moment I'm still waiting over 6 weeks for a Gunfighter Mk III to arrive from Netherlands These Brexit "teething troubles" are a PIA, the base, exension and standard stick have been sitting in HMRC (customs) all that time I just hope I won't have to wait the same time for the "Ultimate" Fortunately my Mamba Mk III is still going strong and giving me great service in the meantime. It's a fabulous bit of kit, especially with the MCG on it. I'm a huge fan of VKB equipment
  7. It can't be used directly from the GUI AFAIK, as the GUI doesn't have built in commands to do that. You can limit the axis throw or set curves within the GUI as I remember but you can't change them on the fly What you can do though is take the profile that the GUI has generated and import it into the Editor, it will give you whole lot script Then paste the lines of code to add in that function The GUI generates 2 files for a profile made with the GUI, *.fcf and *.tmc. What you want is the *.tmc and load that in the editor then add the code Here is a very long line of code, as an example that can be pasted in, writen for a Hog Stick and Throttle, what it does is Toggles the X&Y axes from 100% to 50%. When it's in the 50% mode LED 5 (the bottom LED) will light on your Throttle. The mode is activated by S3 the button on the joystick behind the Paddle MapKey (&Joystick, S3, SEQ(CHAIN( EXEC("SetSCurve(&Joystick, JOYX, 0, 0, 0, 0, -2); SetSCurve(&Joystick, JOYY, 0, 0, 0, 0, -2);"), LED(&Throttle, LED_ONOFF, LED_CURRENT+LED5)),CHAIN( EXEC("SetSCurve(&Joystick, JOYX, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0); SetSCurve(&Joystick, JOYY, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0);"), LED(&Throttle, LED_ONOFF, LED_CURRENT-LED5))));//TOGGLE Axes Y=50% X=50%/Y=100% X=100% It's pretty easy to do even if you know nothing about scripting with the editor.
  8. Hi @Lynchsl62 let's see if @grafspee chimes in as he is more knowledgable than me. I don't fly much combat, so perhaps better to get the opinion of somebody else for that. Of the A-8 & D9 they are both quite similar but for me the Anton is the trickier at least to take off and land. In general the FW's are energy fighters, with good roll rates and don't like to slow down. That said their turn rates are appauling after say a Spit it'll feel like you're flying a bus Their behaviour is very different to the Spitfire and Kurtfurst in particular
  9. Well I've never tried either of them but the TM pedals seem to be popular, I do see many report that some of the components could be better There are mods in the TM section of the Input and Output to add a damper to them and also replace some of the more questionable components. I do like the pendular design, most of the other pedals tend to use a parallelogram design. The Slaw's are pretty dammed spendy, but are super solid and very heavy Have you thought about the Crosswinds, I've used them and they are very good. Unfortunately not having tried the TM pedals I can't say which would be better, but there are quite a few threads on rudder pedals and comparisons. Other options are Virpil who do a range of pedals I think they are to Bauer's design who works for Virpil and he was consistently getting great reviews for all the stuff he produced pre Virpil. Then there is the VKB T rudders, I've used them, very solid, and they work well for a desk (you tend to push them up and down rather than side to side), but no brakes. They can be combined to use a brake combo like the Russian and Spit design (which I prefer to toe brakes) Good luck I'm sure either way you'll notice a big difference and thanks for your inputs to my questions as you always give me a lot of insight. Are Slaw (Viper pedals) and Milan (Crosswind pedals) not in you're neck of the woods? I thought they were in Poland, if not I'm sure they are in the EU.
  10. Yeah Thanks for the suggestion and they work, I think my main problem boiled down to just being over enthusiastic with the lever on ocassion, just a little too much pull and you go over onto the nose very quickly Leaving the brakes at 60% though works pretty well for me, it gives me enough brake to turn when taxi-ing and more than enough to handle landings and hold it straight, the Spit doesn't really need much brake at all as it stops pretty quickly. I prefer the linear feel of a reduced axis, the disadvantege of curves (for me) is that they tend to accelerate the braking force input if you get a tad enthusiastic with the lever
  11. These are Slaw's Viper Pedals with a hyrdaulic dsmper @grafspee Damper really makes a big difference to the smoothness, but on the other hand you need a lot more leg muscle to move and hold them in position The other disadvantage is it's more difficult to find center, but that IMHO doesn't matter so much as I'm never really that bothered, I just move the pedals to center the ball
  12. Funny @grafspee I was flying warbirds with a buddy last night and he said the same thing trying them back to back. I find them a bit different with some common characterisitics, generally I find the Dora more docile to take off and land, must be me then Anyway
  13. Agreed but I still require to apply just a touch or two at the final roll out to keep it straight. On a very rare ocassion I've managed to keep it straight without the application of any braking at all, but that's got to be 1 in a 100 or perhaps even less Before getting an axis on my stick for the brake, I used to use 2 buttons 1 to increase the amount of brake and another to decrease it. I found that worked very well, where, as the rudder lost effectiveness a quick dab of the button applied a small braking percentage and left it applied until I used the other button to disable it. Then as you used the rudder on the roll out you were applying a little brake as well. I thought that was a very clever option included by ED for those who didn't have the luxury of an axis. I tend now to pulse the brake on landing if I'm trying to land in a tight space, that works well for me, I got the idea from a video on here of an in cockpit view of a real Spit landing and the pilot was quite clearly rapidly applying the brake then releasing.
  14. All I can tell you is what I experience and I find both methods work I can either push the throttle to the firewall, 1.4 ATA, release the stick at 120 kph then a little back stick around 200kph and unstick, reckon that's the easiest. Alternatively, I add a lttle nose down trim +1, throttle to 1.2 ATA and hold the stick back until around 160 kph, again slight back stick at 200 kph and lift. Both work Ok, I take off (nearly) everytime, the thing that doesn't work is low ATA, 1.2-1.3, and release the stick around 100-120 kph, that gets real interesting, real fast. It feels to me there is a delay in rudder reaction when the tail has lifted, countering does nothing then it snaps in the direction of rudder input. Then its a race to attain flying speed before I swerve off the runway. I've only started experimenting with this a bit but I'll see if I can post up a clip or track later Many Thanks to everybody for all the help and the input
  15. That's neat Yo-Yo, displays good skill, especially just using keys for the rudder control into the bargain, nice way to turn the Spit do a "stoppie" and swing it around. It wasn't ever a huge problem, but just a frustrating from time to time when I got it started, then promptly taxied out the hanger applied too much brake and nosed over.
  16. How does that work though, don't you then have 2 controllers onto 1 axis? I haven't done that as I thought it would interfere with my pedals and the rudder would be trying to react to 2 different inputs
  17. Thanks yeah I do now, before I didn't, thanks for the advice, running a 20 curve now. I find the rudder really sensitive and can't understand the behaviour. When it unsticks I'm usually holding the rudder one way then once in the air the slip ball is off to the other side. When I'm trying to get the ball centred it seems to contantly dance around. I know it's an Axis thing but not having a rudder trim makes them a lot more work to fly, combine that with moving the stick to counter I'm always flying with rudder to center the ball then offseting with aileron to hold the thing level. Must have increased pilot fatigue. Surprising when Tank went to such lengths to reduce pilot workload he didn't include a rudder trimmer at the very least.
  18. Ok Think I've got it, still far from perfect but Trim neutral Right rudder 70-80% Stick back and to the right say 10% Use ruddder to stay straight Hold stick back until very late approx 160-170 kph slowly release stick forward to centre but still holding in right roll component, by the time the stick is centred, I'm getting airborne. Still some roll compenent but nowhere near as severe Thanks @grafspee for the words of wisdom made quite an improvement to my take offs
  19. Ahh Thank you @grafspee that's a nugget of gold right there, that sounds like where I'm going wrong Very much appreciated, now need to get some more practice in. I was surpised how badly behaved it was in comparison to the Dora
  20. Thanks for the video @grafspee I see that you also use ATA 1.4 when using 1.2 I find it more difficult, opposite of the Spit where I use +4-6 boost and beyond that it's more difficult to control I notice that you also get the left wing dip but not as severe as I experience. It is possible to counter it by using some right aileron when you know it's going to happen which it looks like you apply. As far as SP & MP in short both, mainly fly around in the Aerobatics server as I'm not so into the combat side of things, but get the same thing in SP. Always pull the stick well back then roll forward a little to ensure it locks, although on the early roll it's very predictable the trouble seem to occur when the tail rises then it all goes a bit pear shaped. Perhaps it's just the way it behaves and I just need more practice
  21. Thanks for the suggestion but Auto Rudder is Off and TakeOff Assistance is 0 No axes conflicts either for pitch, roll & rudder I'm doing something stupid probably. Looking at YouTube the takeoff tutorials seem to be able to takeoff straight, but I get wierd rudder response and left wing dip after the tail comes up I'll see if I can do a track, so as others can perhaps pinpoint my failings, at the moment I usually leave the trim at 0 or sometimes tail heavy to 1 but the difference feels minor
  22. The second picture is the kneeboard Back plain, I had that a long time ago and can't remember how I fixed it, you can get that when you lose the kneeboard pages. It looks to me like it's a generic kneeboard problem and not Vaicom related but could be wrong. So can you bring up other kneeboard pages when you page forward or back on the knneboard (usually the square bracket keys) Are you seeing the same thing in all modules or just the A-10? That's not much help as such but perhaps it may just assist (a little) to try to narrow this down a bit first to see where the problem lies
