  1. Cool mod thank you Be very useful with the 109 and Spit where landings are made a lot easier when the aircraft is centered. Going to give it a try later
  2. @ctytler & @bones1014 Thanks guys that's really useful to know I also wondered what files were used to poulate the list in the dropdown on the StreamDeck mod too, double result. I'll get messing with this today and report back how I get on Brilliant!!
  3. If you find a solution, I'd appreciate if you'd let me know how you managed it
  4. Apologies @bones1014 best I could do with my rubbish programming skills & I agree with both points that the Viggen Script file seems odd and doesn't respond like the ED modules for instance. I think because it was an early Heatblur module they were still on a learning curve so it's not perfect. That said hats off to Heatblur they made a superb model of an unusual airframe and the Viggen is still one of my Go-To modules. At least we have a Script file, unlike the MiG-19 which doesn't and the input list also has a comprehensive set of commands (unlike some others 3rd parties I can think of). It drove me nuts for a long time trying to get it to work and in desperation I just used Keyboard commands, which work well enough but take up 2 buttons as you said
  5. Not really I have got a profile of sorts for it now but I couldn't get any of the rotary switches to work so I programmed the StreamDeck with keypresses to rotate the Master Mode, FR22 Mode, Group Channels, Base Channels on the radios and Data Panel, for Clockwise and Anti Clockwise rotation. I don't fly air combat or Air 2 Ground, I prefer trying to understand the systems and a some of the Nav and I'm not sure how much of my profile will work for you as I may have altered some Keybinds. Anyway here is what I currently use and you can try it out or just copy and paste some of the commands, hope you might find something in there that's of some use, but it's pretty basic AJS 37.zip
  6. @Art-J I believe the "InputsLayoutTxt" folder is created and used to store .html lists for your devices if you select the "Make HTML" button on the bottom of the Options page, listing the External devices and keyboard mappings. What that then does is make a list of all the mappings, including the keyboard settings, for all the devices used with that module. I use it as a last line of desperation. Should my inputs all go to hell and I need to start again with a module, at least I know what to map to where and any changes I've made to keyboard inputs too. I've ocassionally experienced all my bindings being "lost" by the game as well, but it's uncommon and quitting and restarting the game restores all to normal for me. It is quite frustrating when it happens. The whole controls binding thing, fragility and ocassional reset by ED or 3rd parties, in DCS is one of the games biggest weaknesses. That said I wouldn't want it simplified like other games, as that would reduce the overall flexibity of what can be achieved with mapping
  7. I don't want to drag this thread Off Topic but I've been considering the CLS-E, but one thing that does put me off is the loss of the analogue for the Spit and I was wondering what you guys use to compensate (I'm using a VKB stick at the moment which has the analogue brake) Simply thought that as there are a few CLS-E owners here might be a good place to ask
  8. Thank You @Minsky Looks like I'll be needing a thorough revision of my Voice Attack Profiles I see you've removed the table from Nevada and just have it as a "Lite" map now. I'm still using your previous revision table as I particualarly like the tabular table format Glad your still keeping them updated it's a lot of work and time to do It's much appreciated by me and no doubt a whole lot of others in the community
  9. @Minsky Loving the updates, great work as always Can I ask what changes were made in 2.7 if you have the info to hand. It may also be useful if these were also made available as PNGs and/or JPGs for inserting into the kneeboard. I realise that's not there intended function and it's a lot of data in the kneeboard, but I could read the last version fine and it's really useful to have all that data on the one sheet Thanks Again
  10. Sure @303_Kermit I'd be interested to take a look, I'm not saying its impossible but it seems a bit stupid to have a system built into the module that assists bad weather landings and then implement it in such a way that it's not compatible with the inner and outer markers as the maps stand. Maybe it's just me, but why not just have the inner beacons hard coded via a lookup table to match the corresponding outer beacons for the airfields that have the beacons paired? It's a minor thing I suppose but could so easily be fixed in the code, it reminds me of the flashlights not being available in a number of the warbirds for example when that was ludicruosly simple to add
  11. @303_Kermit yeah I see you were involved in the original thread explaining what went on and how the system doesn't really match the real thing according to the manuals you have, thank you for your input, it's appreciated. Personally I'd like authenticity but not at the expense of it rendering the near beacon useless for most airfields. I've just been trying it out with Kobuleti and is doesn't work, the near frequency is out by a long way making the whole fun of trying bad weather landing impossible. If I understand the basis of the Near/Far beacon philosophy correctly you navigate to the Far beacon, but you can approach from any direction, so the Near is required to line you up on finals So it's a bit disappointing that it can't be used. It may or may not be realistic but all I know is it's useless as it stands
  12. Thanks That seems a little cunning, so if I'm reeading that right th3 2 presets now select Near Frequency range for the beacons That's great and really appreciated it was driving me nuts, as I recall the MiG-19 has something akin to that where the frequency presets for near and far are on different sides of the cockpit Apolgies for not finding these threads myself
  13. I can set the frequency for the outer or far marker but when I try to set the inner by moving the Near/Far Switch to Near I can't change the frequency range on the ARK 5 What am I missing?
  14. Yup great addition, not since Gospadin's airfield data has a set of data tables been created that's so useful, compressing all the data into a very neat table and covering all the maps They are a permanent addition to my kneeboard for all modules Thank you so much @Minsky
  15. Hush ma mouth, you're quite right. I won't say another word on the topic
  16. AFAIK there isn't one. I'm also suprised Windows allows Virpil to change IDs as I'd be surprised if it's not breaking intellectual property laws (by for instance making it possible to use TARGET) Unless its changed all you need to do is change the IDs inside the C:\Users\Your Name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input. Back up the Input folder first of course Go into each of the individual aircraft folders and change the filename of the lua file in the joystick subfolder (which contains the ID) to the new ID for the device and you should be good to go Test it on one module first to check but that's the way I've done it in the past and it's been fine. A little bit of a pain if you have a lot of modules, but probably take less than 15 minutes to accomplish
  17. I recommend Vaicom too, it's pretty awesome but can have bugs, don't expect it to be entirely flawless. However it does depend on budget some can throw money at hardware and software others are a more strapped for cash. @Bailey might be able to help you, I don't know what modules you're referring to but I believe he has profiles and I think it they contain a lot of this sort of functionality Here's a link to his profiles, might help https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/207412-baileys-voiceattack-profiles/
  18. I can't quite remember exactly what I did, but I searched for the Voice Recognition files in my Win 7 install and then copied them over to Win 10 When I ran the new Win 10 with the Win7 voice recognition files inserted into it, it all worked a treat and didn't need to retrain the speech engine which is a right PIA
  19. Don't think that's necessary I didn't change anything in VA and I can either run VA standalone or use the Vaicom program to run VA instead. For me both work fine and I'm currently running VA as Admin
  20. Thanks I'm up in Glasgow, going to perhaps try some local places to see if they can help. If not I'll certainly try these guys, thank you very much for giving me a recommendation
  21. I've got a small JST (I think) connector that's bcome detached from a board on a Mamba joystick that needs reattaching and had a shot at reattaching it. I have neither the skill or tools for soldering at this level. So I was wondering if there is anybody out there who'd be willing to help me. Prepared to pay for their time, skill and any parts required. The board is small with no components on it so sending it in the post should not be a problem PM me if anybody out there thinks they could assist. I've attached a picture of the board which was in the instructions, the board is item 4 and the plug is X2 on the board Mamba plug.pdf
  22. So it's now mid April and still nothing, pretty disappointed There seems to be Export Script files for every other module, it would be nice if somebody from RAZBAM either gave us some sort of explanation or/and a timescale for when this is planned I like really the module but no export script limits what I can map. Perhaps not a best selller for RAZBAM, but it was their decision to release and should have all the associated software that's expected when a module is purchased
  23. As the others have already said set the buttons and axes up in DCS I use the VKB_Dev_Config software to set up the stick for button presses and how I want to use them. Examples are making a shift function to give you more Dx buttons (you can have 3 shifts, I only use one though), Tempo commands (short press and long press give different buttons), LED operation on the Black Box (and ultimate grip if you go that way). There are also a whole series of options for button behaviour as well as other functions I've never had the time to fathom. You can also put in things like an axis reduction function, where pressing a button will reduce the virtual axis in relation to the physical, have the brake lever and trigger guard (which are axes) issue button presses in their range etc: The VKB software is prety daunting on first use and the help manual really needs re-writing by a native English speaker as some of the descriptions are a little difficult to fathom. That said re-reading a few times gets across the ideas of what the functions do. I applaud VKB for developing the software as (IMHO) it is very powerful. However look at TARGET in TM, to reallly get the most out of it you need to script. It's the trade off of power vs user ease of use. Once you've been using the VKB_Dev_Config a few times it's not nearly so scary. When you use it and download the program to the stick the functions reside in the stick firmware, so it doesn't eat up valuable computer resource. I admit that I am a fan and biased, their hardware is expensive but from my experience (Fat Black Mamba and now Gunfighter with ultimate grip) it's reliable, precise and works iincredibly well. On the clutches I have a 200mm extension like @dburne and have the clutches up at 3/4 (a bit more than standard), with #40 and #20 springs and a soft centre cam. It centers easily and it will bouce overcenter on release but the action is noticeably more damped than the Mamba, which has more or less the same internals but no clutches. It's really a trade on spring force and clutch friction rate. I'm thinking of reducing my spring tension still further, but not got around to it yet.
  24. Can you give us some more info Which Streamdeck are you using? Which version of the Streamdeck Software and Firmware are running? DCS Standalone or Steam? DCS Stable or Open Beta & which version? What's running on the Streamdeck, keypresses, CTyler's add on or both? Run both DCS & Streamdeck as Admin, make sure there is no power saving allowed on the USB ports (Windows has a nasty habit of re-enabling them from time to time on updates) I'm running a StreamDeck XL, Firmware 1.00.007, Software 4.9.3.13222 with DCS Open Beta, Standalone version 2.5.6.61527 and it's working for both keypresses and CTyler's add on for a range of modules without any issue
  25. Well it was much appreciated thanks again
