Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - January 2015
LuSi_6 replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
A Mig-29 would most likly eat a F-14 in a dogfight. The F-14 is large and heavy plane with comparable weak engines. It was build for the Radar and the Phoenix. When it comes to WVR the F-14 pilot did something wrong in the first place. Don't forget, a combat ready F-14 is about 30 tons at around 20 tons of thrust. Climbing, acceleration and sustained turns is not the F-14s strong point. I thing the RIO will be like activating SAU in the Mig-21. While the plane holds altitude and course you can jump to the backseat, clicking buttons -

Oculus Rift DK2 Hi, I'm planning to get a OR DK2 and I want to know if you can zoom in and out with the Oculus Rift DK2 for spooting targets and stuff. I saw some videos on YT and it looks amazing but for WWII dogfighting and WVR combat I think zooming is nesserary. Thanks in advance :joystick: Off topic: Happy new year! :drunk:

No. If you can reproduce wing breaking with rolling from one side to another (e.g a spiral and a change of direction) and you loose your wingtip with around 5g this is not "normal" or missing stick forces. If this would be common or there is a danger that this could happen, don't you think this would be mentioned in a manual? like never exceed speeds? Or any of the pilots would have mentioned it like "you had to be carefull with g-rolls" like with the landing gear that caused much trouble? loosing wingtips is nowhere mentioned, not in a single historic document, not stated from a single pilot (axis or allies). And loosing a wingtip would not lead to instand death so nobody could tell about it... Nowhere in the real world this happend, in no simulation, just in DCS. It's an DCS thing, nothing else €dit: just checked tackView: 6.3g in a right bank and wing tip falls of €dit2: I played a bit with TacView: right bank turn 7g - no problem dive 690km/h pull out: wingtip gone at 3.4g dive 610km/h pull out: wingtip gone at 2.5g(!!!) €dit 3: I manipulated the axis curves ingame: 6g or 7g turn all day long with full nose down trim. while turning at maximum deflection I slowly trimmed nose up and and bang, wingtip gone. A 7.5g turn with 19.4°/s turn rate no problem. But once I start to trim nose up the wingtip fails at 6.6g at 25.5°/s turnrate. All this feels like it's not related to g-forces, it's related to the ° of stick deflection. You exceed a certain amount of ° and your wingtips snapp off, even if it's only 2.5g. This must be an FM problem 109K4 wingbreak.trk

Dora all the way until they fix the wing break joke on the 109
-
this wingbreak is getting a joke. In not a single book I read about the 109 or it's Aces ripping of wingtips is even mentioned. I never heard of it until the DCS 109. I just did a left bank turn and rolled to the right just to level the plane. bang, left wingtip gone. A joke, not funny anymore. Show me a source which proofs this or fix it!

nice server, always someone there to shoot at. But pls, turn on integrity check. I just quit after a guy shot 6 people down with AIM-54C from his F-15C and those missle flew at like Mach 20...
-
No, they can be appart all over your radar search area just like with the eagle. But the R-77 suck and LA range is much shorter than with the AIM-120

Hi, Audacity is just right. Just do the folloeong: take your track and add white noise of the same lenght in a new line, than: amplify by 8 equalizer: curve "walkie talkie" and change that curve to cut of everything more than 1500hz Highpass filter reverb with "roomsize 8" make this a batch and you can convert all records in a few seconds. If you apply this batch operation twice, you have WWII radio take a look here what I did with my records http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=135837 or http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=136507 If you need help, ust ask cheers

Hi, by now I did 5 mission that contain custom radio chatter. The WWII mission I actually recorded the (german) radio messages by my self plus one original air situation report from April (?) '45 Both Mig-21 missions and the F-86 mission use AT&T TTS K-4 and Dora mission are the same so you can fly this mission in both planes. The same goes for the Multi-role missions for the F-86 and the Mig-21. enjoy and feel free to give some feedback K-4 Bf-109K4_Intercept_1.01.miz Dora FW-190D9_Intercept_1.01.miz F-86 F-86_Multi_role+fighter.miz Mig-21 Mig_21_Multi_role+fighter_1.0.miz Mig-21 only Mig-21_A_normal_day.miz

Hi folks, As I'm still learning to use the mission builder, here is a SP mission for the Mig. Before your Mig is ready for combat again, you need to perform a system test flight. Listen to the instructions from your squadron leader and you better follow them  File size ~4Mb, feel free to comment and leave some feedback.
