  1. Ok, F-16C Block 60 vs F-18E Super Hornet comparison, GO! What does the bent pylon wonder bring that the Block 60 can't? :music_whistling:
  2. It's the pallets that are the real kick in the gut, they're hilariously heavy. Two wing glove pylon Phoenix's, 4 Sparrows and 2 Sidewinders is what I envision to be the primary multiplayer loadout... Aside from the 6 Phoenix spam launches we'll also see.
  3. Sith, could you please give some guidance on the direction that this thread is supposed to take then? Because frankly, this topic is purely politics. The article you linked even stated the Super Hornet purchase is politically motivated to save face on campaign promises. Are we supposed to compare capabilities again? Because I'm failing to see the purpose if we don't talk politics...
  4. Given that we're not even getting the upgrade kit to give them 4 missile capability, I doubt we'll get the P4/5.
  5. Not a great choice given that Skyhawks do a lot of NoE work, that 10ft range might come up a lot.

    DCS: F-5E!

Don't think we're getting add on systems. I think the call was for official manuals concerning it. If your site was good enough, it would mean 4 sidewinder capability too. Sadly, I don't see this happening.
  7. Yeah but the hump is sexy. Skyhawks without a hump always seemed kind of wrong to me.
  8. Yeah, despite my questions, I'm really psyched for this module. Sure it's no longer going to be the first BlueFor SEAD aircraft, but I'm still really excited for it.
  9. So does that mean the earlier plans for Bullpups and Shrikes are out as well?
  10. Forgive my confusion, but isn't the A-10A an FC3 aircraft? The Mavericks on it seem to work fine.
  11. They share a wing design. That's like saying the F-86 and the MiG-15 are the same aircraft family because they both make use of the swept wing design...
  12. Not close to each other at all. The Mirage III may look similar to the 2000, but the planes were designed and built decades apart. I fully support rolling back the in game clock to the mid cold war era so we can play with the huge selection on offer there. [ame] [/ame]
  13. Surely the coding would be the same as the Maverick missile, minus the propulsion? So long as you're not modeling the ERDL version of the Walleye, it's a lock before launch weapon just like the Mav. Another quetion since I've been bouncing around http://a4skyhawk.org/. Since you're modeling both the avionics hump and the nose wheel steering, are you going for a later A-4E with the uprated 9,300 lb thrust Pratt & Whitney J52-P8A, or the earlier 8,500 lb thrust Pratt & Whitney J52-P6A?
  14. It looks wonderful, I'm genuinely excited to see this module released, though I have some questions. 1. You say the aircraft will only be SFM, however it also appears you are going for a fully clickable cockpit. What, coding wise, differentiates creating an SFM, vs a PFM/AFM ect. ect. ect. 2. It appears the cockpit of your A-4 has a television screen, does this indicate you are going to be making Walleye's available, or that later modernization to include Mavericks will be an option? If not, what purpose does this screen serve? 3. Do you have any confidence in being able to release this mod by the end of the year, or do you believe it is far too soon to tell?
  15. I'm skeptical because your claims directly contravene the manufacturer claim as demonstrated in Bushmanni's post. Care to translate for the English speaking among us?
  16. Got some literature to back this up? Sorry, but I find myself rather skeptical of your claims as of late, especially given Bushmanni's information about the Eurofighter comes direct from BAE.
  17. You're failing to understand the point of the L-39 and the Hawk. The Hawk came about in the age where all the companies were starting out and deciding to do simple trainers first to gain experience with the engine they'd be developing in. Thus the T-2 Buckeye, the Hawk and the C101. They weren't selected for multiplayer suitability, they were coding projects to gain experience and develop tools. The L-39 is in a similar vein, its primary role to test the new multicrew code in a fairly simple aircraft. These planes are not designed to be multiplayer competitive, they're experience projects, and frankly, there has been a great deal of pushback against these light COIN and Trainer birds. RAZBAM has grown up from doing trainers thanks to their Mirage release. They've already developed the tools and have gained experience, there is no need to do it again, and the community, as indicated by this poll, is sick of COIN birds. A Pucara would be a worse sitting duck than an A-10 in Blue Flag, no smart weapons of any kind require it to get in close where ground fire is most dangerous to it.
  18. Wait really? I thought that was an internal directive.

    DCS: F-5E!

Looks great, I look forward to seeing it in game. Just one thing.

In addition to what Matt said about the Radar, while the F-5 has a better radar, the MiG has weapons guided by it. They're not great by any stretch of the imagination, but they're better than nothing, which is what the F-5 has to work with. Now before Matt jumps on me for this, I will concede the point that this advantage gets even slimmer should BST be making the Aim-9P5 (Was it the 5 Matt?) which has an all aspect seeker like the L, though BST has given no indications they intend to do this.

F-5E vs MiG-21Bis is going to be an extremely competitive matchup. The Mig is superior until the merge, the Tiger after that point. They're both very bare bones aircraft, and I predict extremely close fought dogfights to be the norm when the two meet.
  22. Not officially, but any update that's 2 months past due is cancelled. In another few months, or maybe weeks, Cobra will announce a newer, better progress update that'll totally blow Part II out of the water and it was a way better idea to just, at this point, roll it all up into a new update because there is way new stuff to show off. Just chill until Cobra actually posts a News report, all else is gas.
  23. No, the Part II update was cancelled.
  24. You're obviously unfamiliar with the BST release method. Yes, work can take place entirely behind doors and come like a lightning bolt out of the blue.
