Hi Jack, Have you tried the F-15? It got a new advanced flight model as well. I'm too finding the 27 pretty unstable, I think more tweaking is needed.

What IP did you apply port-forwarding to? it should be your internal IP (192.168.x.x). Always check your IP before hosting to see if it changed (even internal), so you can update the port entry accordingly. Take a screenshot of the GUI and post it please.

8000 meters. You wont contrail at 7950 meters. You wont contrail above 12000 meters either. So contrail interval is 8 - 12 km.

Open traffic to port 10308 via TCP and UDP protocols (both).

Means do not fly straight towards your opponent, rather create some angle while steering your radar to keep him covered. Maximum crank angle depends on how far your radar can physically steer. Cranking allows you to reduce closure while keeping your target inside your own radar cone. Very useful especially when your BVR weapons have more range, also forces your opponent to get significantly closer to get a launch authorization. Missiles flying towards you will also bleed more energy when your crank, as most use lead pursuit geometry.

Root drive/Users/'your_username'/Saved Games/DCS/Missions If you're looking for combat servers, I'd recommend 51st or 104th servers, usually plenty of actions going on in there, once again, TS is the way to go in MP.

Welcome Serpent. That's the kind of topic that attracts lot of attention. I'm sure many veteran pilots will point you in the right direction. It's long way to go, but as long as you're motivated, you'll keep climbing up the steep PvP learning curve.

Which server? how many players were there? Have you tried to communicate with people (chat or TS)? Any mission MP or SP is about two coalitions with each having own goals and assets. As a general rule, you'd need to join a populated server, read the briefing carefully and connect with people via TS.

Squadron Rankings have been updated and now every SA point earned by a pilot will count double for own squadron when winning an event and these bonus points have the same life span (12 months). This update doesn't affect pilot rankings as victory bonus is already implemented. Squadron rankings are tracking results from SATAC 2013 all the way to Joint Warrior 3, and thus, separate SATAC rankings will not be needed anymore now. Guys, I forgot to mention that the new squadron rankings are, at the moment, merely the sum of pilot points grouped by squadron. I am still working on the right implementation of bonus points for actually winning events. The update will be according to results of the 2014 season as below: JW1 won by 51st PVO JW2 - no winner (final battle cancelled) JW3 won by 51st PVO and UVAF Note that the SA rankings system covers results from the last 12 months only so any SA point reaching its drop date gets deducted from the score on the following update. Hall of fame keeps track of everything though (from the very beginning).

Thanks buddy, we may go for one more tactical battle before Christmas, otherwise, early January. Dogfight competition is also in the makings, we are waiting for the recently-released modules to stabilize a bit, especially FM-wise.

Hey guys, As previously announced, squadron rankings are now ready for both air-to-air and air-to-ground. Now every SA point one earns will count in both, pilot rankings and squadron rankings. This is meant to emphasis teamwork and squadron overall performance. Squadron rankings are being tracked since JW1 event. My opinion is that this game is not like other games, it will continuously improve, but it will never be perfect and it should not be perfect. Missiles among other things, need continuous tweaking, but even so, the performance of a missile is subject to way too many dynamic variables. Sometimes, it will fail for an unnoticed reason. On a different note, looking at how competitive other games have become, I see no reason why, especially DCS, could not do the same, as it's setting the bar pretty high when it comes to player proficiency, let alone PvP requirements. I'd say that if there are a few games out there that are meant to be approached 'seriously', DCS is surely one of them. At the end of the day, it will come down to personal taste: laid-back untroubled people or competitive performance-oriented sky warriors. Let's face it, who wouldn't have fun instigating panic among his opponents. One thing for sure, it will always be a lot easier to 'try' to not give a darn rather than taking the bull by its horns :smilewink:.
