  1. Of course! At first: The Sabre (F-86) and Mig-15 needs ground power to start the engine. The F-5 needs ground air to start the left engine. In the case of the A-10 and Mirage you can use the ground power to align the INS systems (saving fuel) or to keep the systems aligned during repair. If you have your first time in a new module you can use ground power to get familiar with the systems without depleting the battery or having the APU or engines running the whole time.
  2. Every airfield has 3 radio frequencies. You can also use the presets
  3. Hello, you can't contact ATC on VHF in the Tiger. You only have a UHF radio, so you have to use the UHF frequencies (around 250 MHz).
  4. This is normal: The left engine start button activates the left engine ignition for 40 seconds. The rpm comes from the ground air. The right engine start button activates the right engine ignition for 40 seconds and opens the air valve from the left engine if the left engine runs at least 70%
  5. Aerobraking isn't more effective than mechanical braking but it's wear-free. You don't need it for the arcade game planes. You need it for the realistic module but it's more common in real flying. As my old flight instructor said: "The plane needs no brakes! Pull the stick until you stopped!" So you do it well! You create maximum drag and if your landing is good, you don't need wheelbrakes on the most runways. Otherwise you are too fast.
  6. Thats are 22 NM and too far away for the ILS. Switch to landing at about 10 NM (18 KM). Here an example: ILS approach The final approach starts at about 9 NM in this case. And you have to be at the correct altitude. Try 3000 feet QFE (1000 meters, more precisely 900 but 1000 is good). Stay clear of ground and obstacles - look on the map.
  7. Ok for me it doesn't work yet. I use the warthog throttle. I pressed the button but had still full range. Full range is the usual setting. When do I have to press the button for no afterburner setting?
  8. No, otherwise it would be a game plane like F-15 and co and not a simulator plane. For people who only want to play there are many FC planes and people who want to virtually fly have to read the POH for hours :D But that is the difference: F-15 and co are AceCombat level and Mig-21 and co are DCS level and it is absolutely usual that the DCS level needs knowledge. So don't give up and keep learning to fly and not to play ;)
  9. When will the F-5 be available for 2.0 ?
  10. To figure out who is the best fighter, you can't use arcade FC 3 game planes :joystick:
  11. Ok I figured it out. The most missions on servers have easy comm enabled - and that's the problem! All mission designers and server hosters have to disable easy comm in the mission options windows until this bug is solved!
  12. Ok, I figured out this bug is content of all modules. I have the same bug in Mirage, Huey and A10C. With easy comm on and off and with radio help on and off. Kartoffel: Wie das Ding zu bedienen ist, weiß ich. Aber es funktionuckelt nicht und ist verbugt.
  13. It was off. Didn't change anything. Turned it on and off and restarted but no difference. I spoke to two Mirage pilots and they have the same bug.
  14. It worked 3 month ago but now my meu shows continously "AUTO" as radio and I can't switch between UHF and VHF. I can choose a option f.e. F8 ground crew but then i'm unable to get back to the main menu.
  15. Which perspective do we have to use in the video?
  16. Also bei werden Fuß und Meilen angezeigt. Laut Radar 6700 Fuß
  17. I think the mirage has no center function (like the most airplanes) Yep, we have no IFF, no MWS, now we have no aileron trim. we have a big disadvantage agsinst flaming cliffs. Please fix this soon, at least for the next update. the servers getting more and more empty and more and more guys wont fly DCS anymore until we have a normal chance against flaming cliffs
  18. Since the update the aileron trim is buggy, it cant trim enough anymore to fly without rolling after shooting a rocket
  19. 1. the magnetic compass in the attitude indicator 2. the gyro in the radio compass 3. and the heading indicator in the HUD
  20. At this time, I fly only VFR and I have one chart per year - it is enough (in Germany)
  21. I can't I have "Easy Comm" never enabled.
  22. Radio click Continous radio clicking the whoooooole time
  23. My directions are direct from DCS (nose wheel on centerline and velocity indicator on the last centerline at the end of the runway). It would be better if the ILS stays, sometimes we have bad weather ;) I wrote many bug reports for the bugs (RWY direction deviation, ect) but the ED support team.... they are not interested in make the sim better. I wrote bug reports so many times :noexpression: We need the beacons and frequencies in the F10 map, i wrote it since 1991... ok no, but in 2013. And it tooks this long time until we have the data in the map. And nevertheless in the NTTR map the ILS data is missing  And a scrollable kneeboard map (like in real aviation) is missing, too. 254 is UHF (not exactly, because VHF goes up to 300MHz) and 39 is HF (normally only goes up to 30 MHz)
