I thought it was LAlt-, (comma) but I can't get it to work. Thank you.

Hi, is there a "snap view" button or keyboard shortcut to look back from inside the cockpit? I'd like to look back and see if I hit my target. Using F4 does not work since it takes me out of the cockpit and I'd have to press F1 to get back to the cockpit. Neither does assigning a snap view using the RAlt-Num# keyboard combination because apparently that only saves the snap view if you are inside the cockpit. It does not save the external F4 view. Thank you.

How do I print the Adjust Controls section?
bofhlusr replied to bofhlusr's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Thank you. A note to other future viewers, the "Foldable view" check box on the top of the screen has to be unchecked to display the menus at the bottom of the screen. -
cannot set key bind for active pause

What is the "UI layer" category? Is it supposed to be in Adjust Controls because I can not find it. -
You don't know your snails. Coming from Microsoft Flight Simulator and flying small GA (general aviation) planes like the Cessna 172 and stall speeds of 60-70-ish KIAS, the Hawg is very very fast.

@jaylw314 How do I display the menu at the bottom of the screen in the A-10C II? -
STPT ist located on the left bottomest area of the HUD. Apparently it is an acronym for steerpoint. I've not seen it change. So why is it there?

Did you replace it with something else, and why? It seems to me that by using the keyboard modifiers (eg. LCtrl) and the joystick buttons that there's quite a few buttons to work with. 12 joystick buttons + 4 in hat = 16 Ctrl + 12 buttons + 4 in hat = 16 Shift + above = 16 Alt + above = 16 Win + above = 16 ==== Total buttons (16 x 5) = at least 80 buttons using the Logitech 3D.

I am struggling hitting a non-moving static object (a large tank) which I placed for practice by creating a simple mission in the default 'X' runway. The problem is I keep missing to hit the large tank directly even after several attempts at shooting it down. I start the run at about 5,000 ft at least 3 n.miles away and start using the gun between 1.5-2.0 nm away. Questions: 1. At what point in time should I start diving from 5000 ft. Is it from 2 or 3 nm away? 2. At what speed and when? 3. Do I use elevator trims? When? 4. Do I use the speed brake? When? 5. Do I just press 'p' once to activate the gunpac* or do I have to continue holding it down while I'm shooting with the gun? 6. Is there a snap view to look at the back of the plane without pressing F4? (the problem with F4 is that I have to press F1 to get back to the cockpit) 7. Does the A-I0C II have a 'drone' view like in Microsoft Flight Simulator? Or a 'slew' mode like in Prepar3d? 8. Is there a way to save the game when I'm about to start the run to the target? 9. How do I record a video in the game? * I am using the Logitech 3D Extreme joystick using the LCtrl or LShift as modifiers + joystick buttons or hat combination. I have the X52 Pro but it's bulky, and not really necessary for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and I also like to keep my set-up and things as simple as possible.

How do I print the Adjust Controls section?

Is there a way to print this section? I want to check all my joystick and keyboard bindings or assignments. Thank you. -
Easier than not doing anything at all? I think the question was, why do anything at all if you don't have to? No offense meant, but It's not laziness. It's irrational to some if not most.

This is exactly what I am asking for. But your answer surprises me. I thought the A-10 carry Hellfires but maybe I am confusing it with Mavericks. Are they that different? I know size is different. Couldn't either AH-64D or A-10C II carry either weapon in real life and in DCS? I was wondering if it was different enough from a weapons systems point of view to buy the AH-64D considering that I already have the UH-Huey and the A-10C II. Thank you.

Location of training videos in Win10?
bofhlusr replied to bofhlusr's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Thank you. The A-10 being what it is -- a study level aircraft, reminds me somehow of the problem they had with missing items in the 737 MAX manuals. Two real-life planes crashed killing hundreds of passengers and cost Boeing billions of dollars. -
Location of training videos in Win10?

Thank you. "Interactive" is the key word. With regards to YouTube videos, the problem with them is that they may have inaccuracies if done by 3rd parties. Some of them are quite old too. I've seen some of Matt Wagner's YouTube videos but I did not see any for the A-10C II. -

Thank you. I tried renaming the file extensions as well as playing the miz files with VLC. The former doesn't work and for the latter I only get audio (from ogg files inside the *.miz files). Short of doing a video or screen capture and converting them to mp4s or mkvs, is there any way to view these files without using DCS? Maybe there are YouTube versions somewhere? -
I'd like to convert and transfer them to my cell phone and TV so I can watch them anytime anywhere. Thank you

Can I save a view from inside the cockpit?
bofhlusr replied to bofhlusr's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
@Rudel_chw I just did a test. The LWin + Numpad X combo works. Now how do I assign that key combo to a joystick button? I'm using the Logitech 3D Extreme joystick. Thanks. Never mind. I figured it out. Thank you very much. -
Can I save a view from inside the cockpit?
bofhlusr replied to bofhlusr's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
If 5 is not available, how can each aircraft get 10? Also, can you clarify the phrase..."can also be assigned to a button"? Does that mean I can assign it to any keyboard key or any joystick button or does it have to be assigned to a numpad key? In the future, I might end up installing the sim to a laptop for offline play during vacation and the laptop does not have a numpad key. -
Absent a way to check the status of the speed brake in the console panel or HUD, I'd like to see the speed brake status outside from inside the cockpit with one press of a keyboard or joystick combo button or one button? Is there a way to save a view to a button? For example to the Ctrl+1 keyboard combo like in Microsoft Flight Simulator? Thank you.

Yes. But what the OP is saying is to change the default setting to the maximum allowed using the rocker switch. Logically, if the rocker switch can do it, a lua file adjustment should be able to do it too.

How to set speed brake setting?
bofhlusr replied to bofhlusr's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Now I'm confused. I think flaps are different from the speed brake. I need the speed brake since I'm told the A10 does not have reverse thrusters (which are available in commercial jets) when landing at short airfields.
