Is profile for X52 Pro for A-10c usable for A-10a?
bofhlusr replied to bofhlusr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you. Can the profile of the A-10c be used with the A-10a? -
No. Pitch control on the y-axis in this **particular game pad** works fine in Microsoft Flight Simulator 10 but not in FC3. Why that is, I don't know. I am assuming it is a compatibility issue that applies only to FC3 with Win 10 because my Logitech **joystick works** with both but unfortunately it is not as portable as the game pad. It is also not cordless.

FC2 Printed Manual now available in USA via Amazon.com
bofhlusr replied to Wags's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I checked the link to Amazon on January 3, 2018. The image and the description is that of a different book on Napoleon but the title and the comments are with regards to Flaming Cliffs 2 still. Of course I didn't buy. I've submitted an erroneous notification to Amazon. Let's see if they are paying attention... -
SOLVED!! Excellent tip Ian! That turned out to be the solution. I did scale down and tried different settings on my 2560 x 1440 native resolution monitor. The maximum resolution FC2 will play in is 1600 x 900 in window mode (the bottom part of the menus in the Mission Editor is not displayed when in full screen mode at that resolution). I already have FC3 but just didn't want to bother with the download and also because I already have two copies of FC2 and Lockon just gathering dust. As an additional note to other readers of this post I'm using an nVidia GTX 780 graphics card with 16 GB of RAM running 64-bit Windows 10 Creators Update (Fall 2017). Thank you very much!

This is an issue in Windows 10 and in Windows 7 SP1. I'm using an EVGA GTX 780 graphics card with 4 GB of memory and 16 GB RAM memory and an i5 cpu from Intel. I've also applied patch 1.2.1 to Flaming Cliffs 2. Training, quick start, and the Encyclopedia in the game appears to be working fine. Please advice. Thanks.

I can now confirm that Lockon Platinum (which has Lockon and Flaming Cliffs 2) works in Windows 10 64-bit.

Yep, I'm definitely still and always was color blind. I kept looking at the original graphic and just can't see 74. Thanks for the tip. I'll try that. Maybe size really matters. A different sized icon will definitely help. I was hoping there is a bitmap inside a compressed file somewhere or a reference pointer to a bitmap file that I can change.

Yep, I don't see no stinkin' numbers. I found out about this test when I was in Grade 6. Before that I thought stained wood (like doors) were red until someone corrected me and said that they are in fact colored brown (maybe he said green ...I've forgotten which is which). Didn't really much care until I started dabbling in electronics. Everything there (resistors, wires, capacitors, etc.) is color coded. So so I gave that up and didn't much mind until now trying to really get into DCS games.

I remember Lock-On had a demo mission in-game which I used for checking and comparing frame rates. It showed an F-15 flying through valleys and I think I saw another demo mission somewhere showing an A-10 attacking a column of tanks. Where do I get one for the A-10C and for FC3? Thanks.

You're running it on Win 10. That's great news! It turns out I also have Lockon Platinum, so I think I'll install that first in one of my old laptops. I believe Platinum has Lockon v1.01 and FC version 2. I hope the Lockon v1.01 will run and run well. I'm assuming the Lockon v1 versions I have in the original Lockon DVD, the Gold DVD, and the Platinum DVD are all the same. Can you provide more details on how you are running Lockon v1.01? What bat (batch) file? Also, do you have it set-up in compatibility mode? Are you able to run it without a CD drive (which will kinda defeat the purpose of portability if I have to bring along a drive and the CD to play with it). Thanks! Just to jog people's memory, Lockon Platinum has 2 disks: Lockon and FC2 and looking at the manual, it is apparently Starforce protected. The package says it requires a Pentium 2 GHz and 256 MB of video memory (nowadays that's like nothing!). I don't have my portable DVD now to install it (I know I have one somewhere). Does anyone know if I will be able to activate it. Is the activation server still running? By the way, I'm wondering if it'll run in a virtual machine in VMware too.

In addition to being a newbie I'm also partially color blind to red and green (ask me how I differentiate traffic lights) so the learning curve is doubly hard. I'm not sure what a TAD is. All I'm trying to do is make the diamond icons or target marks(?) more visible to me when I press F4 in the first Instant Action mission in the A-10C game.

I'm talking to DCS' tech support. Their suggestion is to make the change to -- ... you can change color of target icons in file labels.lua \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\View\Labels.lua ColorAliesSide = {255, 0, 0} ColorEnemiesSide = {0, 0, 255} -- Which I did, but it is still not working for me after changing the enemy colors to {255,255,255} or white. The color did not change to white, and I am still waiting for a reply from them.

Throttle slide doesn't work in Logitech Wingman Cordless
bofhlusr replied to bofhlusr's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
The odd thing is that it works in Windows 8.1 but not in Windows 10. -
Has anyone managed to get Lock on Gold on Windows 10? Believe it or not I have two copies of Gold and one copy of the original LOMAC. I'd like to install it in my new laptop. Thanks. I have FC3 on my desktop but I'd like to do the stand alone Gold one for old time's sake. I had fun the last time I played them.

Throttle slide doesn't work in Logitech Wingman Cordless
bofhlusr replied to bofhlusr's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Hi, when I click on 'Throttle Both', I'm not getting any kind of feedback or a confirmation from the program. What is supposed to happen when I click on 'Throttle Both'? After one click since there was no dialog box (something like 'Are you sure?', 'Throttle slider re-assigned, etc so I simply pressed Ok at the bottom of the screen). Nothing changed and the throttle still doesn't work. Thanks. If you're wondering why I'm using the Wingman Cordless, it is because it is easy to carry around. It easily fits in a flat bag and it is cordless. Regular joysticks are bulkier and difficult to pack with clothes in a suitcase. So I'm hoping I can get the throttle to work. By the way, I've disable all start-up programs (anti-virus, the Logitech Profiler program utility, small motherboard related programs that show in the notification tray, etc. ). -
Hi, I am a newbie running the A-10C in Windows 10. In Instant Action or in the training missions, I can't get anything on the throttle slider. So I've had to use the - or + key in the numeric keypad. I've not changed anything in Options/Controls. The game correctly identifies the gamepad correctly and all other controls such as turning left or right, up or down work. (The gamepad works correctly in Microsoft's FSX game). Alt-Home and Alt-Control works too but not the throttle slider. Please help. Thanks.

You're welcome. I'm new to this forum. Is there a way to get credit for helping someone? Might as well right?
