So I've done my first skin with Photoshop, NVIDIA plug-in and Model Viewer. Afters days of fiddling with this, I actual got my skin to show up in the liveries list for the F-18. This took many attempts at changing file names and lua files. I thought I was pretty sure I finally got everything the way it should be finally. Feeling confident, I loaded the file into DCS to use the model viewer one more time. It finally showed up in the liveries list, which got me excited, just to be shot out of the air with a no texture error. I've been reading and watching youtube videos and I can't figure out what i've done wrong. So now I turn to all the wisdom and talent here to see if you guys can help. I've included a link to my files to see what I've done wrong. Thanks for the help before hand. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ts9terlh7jegwfs/AACrOCRbauBgBfX4RdzJG14Ra?dl=0:helpsmilie:

I have just built a new PC and want to build a sim pit. To determine how I will set up the sim pit I need to get some questions answered that I can't find the answers to. I hope this is the place to post this. This is what I'm thinking for the the monitor set up. I would like to use a 45" 4K TV or some kind of projector set up with a glass instrument panel using Ikarus. What I would like to use for the Instrument panel is a 23" HP TouchSmart PC w/ touchscreen. So my first question is, can I export MFCD's, RWR and the like to another PC running Ikarus or is it limited to just another monitor? As far as software my question is I only need Ikarus and an export program like DCS BIOS, plus openning specific ports for it to communicate ? Thanks for the help !

I would like to end up with 3 installs of the open beta. Open beta because my friends fly with that version. I would like to separate my aircraft into a modern and early class and then have a version for mods. Looking like this when all installed. Program Files / Eagle Dynamics / DCS World OpenBeta_MODERN Program Files / Eagle Dynamics / DCS World OpenBeta_EARLY Program Files / Eagle Dynamics / DCS World OpenBeta_MODS Thanks for all your time guys........

I don't understand the need to create a .txt file. Is this something I should add to the install path ? Is it something I add to the file path after the install ? I installed the open beta and file path looks like this: Program Files / Eagle Dynamics / DCS World OpenBeta I started DCS and I assume that after I shut it down, it created the saved games files. Am I correct in my assumption ? I also assume that if I put this .txt file in the proper place and start DCS and then shut it down, it will create a saved games file named same as .txt file. Saved game file now looks like this: Users / TOKER / Saved Games / DCS.openbeta Can't you just change the install path to something like this Program Files / Eagle Dynamics / DCS World OpenBeta_MOD and then let it install to create this file path ?

I'm still kinda at a loss on the multiple installs of DCS. Will each install need different log in credentials or can you use the same credentials for each install? If you use different credentials for each install, will that effect the modules I can install ? Also the installs, do they have to be the different versions (ex. 2.5 Alpha & 2.5 Open Beta) or can I have two installs of 2.5 Alpha ? Thanks for the help guys ! Diving in to start deactivating.......:D

Hey guys I've searched the forums for info on a system wipe and reinstall, but have come up with pieces from here and there. What I need to do ( Not because I want to) is first do a clean install of DCS because somehow it has become corrupted and my Mission Editor is not properly working. I've done a repair and actually deleted and reinstalled most of the files for DCS with no good results. So clean install was recommended by ED. Because of this misfortune, I decided to put DCS on an SSD and keeping my windows 7 on my WD Black 1tb HDD. I will also be doing a reinstall of windows due to the fact that DCS resides on the drive also. So these are the steps that I have put together from other posts. Step 1. Deactivate my modules Step 2. Format and Install Windows on HDD Step 3. Install DCS on SSD Step 4. Reactivate modules Bing Bang Boom Done ! Is it this easy and exactly what do I need to reactivate my modules ? Serial Numbers or just account log in ? Also is it possible to run run two DCS world downlods on the same machine and reactivate only certian planes on each DCS ? Thanks for any help guys !

I was putting together a new mission the other day and thought it would be neat to put a train in, which I didn't know existed until I started to play around in the Mission Editor. So I put the train in this very small mission on the Caucasus map to do some testing and threw it up in multiplayer and nobody but me can see the train. Are trains not synced in multiplayer ?

Thanks for all your time answering to my problems. This is the first time I've ever had a problem in 7 years and it happened with the last update, so it just kinda pointed to the update and not my set up. I also received an update for my video card at the same time, that probably didn't help. Also about my vram, it is under the requirements for low settings, but honestly I've been running the game at medium with some features off or on low with no problems. My system does allocate some of my 16 gigs of onboard ram for video. Like I said, been running just fine for many years. Well, once again, thanks for the time and I will look into the rebuild as a first step. I've seen this mentioned before, but don't know where this option is located. I just may option for the clean wipe and start over. If a clean wipe is the case, do I have to deactivate all my modules to this ? Thanks Barry:pilotfly:

Performance issues after the latest update

What is the Lalt Enter thing, never heard anything about it. -
Same issue here. Are any of you experiencing any problems in the mission editor as well ?

120318 is the latest file. I believe the other one is right after I did the clean and repair. Thanks dcs 120318 1457.txt dcs 120118 1658.txt

Cleaned and repaired as suggested, even though I knew it wouldn't help. It did not help. Now having problems with editing ship types as well as the other symptoms. I've done what I could as far as a clean and repair. I went as far as deleting files and reinstalling them if I thought they might have unwanted files. Next step is a complete wipe and reinstall of everything if you guys don't see a problem. I was not obviously the only one to have these problems. Game ran fine for many months with what few mods and skins I had installed. It was not until last update that these problems came about.

That's pretty much what I got too. the static items list was the same for each category, then when selecting an item on the list, I was able to click on the item that wasn't movable or in the list. The other problem was the save button staying highlighted. When trying to exit out it would ask me if wanted to save before leaving. I would answer yes and the file already existed, then answer no and it would let me exit. When I would go back to list of saved missions it would be there. So it was saving the mission, but the save icon would stay highlighted and it would not recognize it saved it, when it actually did save it. The first attachment is a mission done before the update and second one is a fresh test this morning. Same problem both missions. dcs 113018 1030.txt dcs 113018 1040.txt

Going to see if it happens on a fresh mission right now, will send log. The problem seem to be with particular static objects and the save function for me anyways.

I am, I thought it was a hard drive going, but everything checks out. I place an item and then can't select it again and when I go to save the mission, the save icon stays lit and it says mission already exists. Menus have different options every time I open ME. I thought I was going crazy, I'm glad someone else is seeing it !

Hey thanks for the info ! I've only read about Mist and not to sure how to use it, but I will learn someday. I kinda like the idea of the work around the game has. Makes knocking out a bridge something more than just dropping a bomb on it. Looks like a little more target planning has to go into it, which is fine.
-
I was running a multiplayer mission last night and one of the targets were two bridges to take out. Taking out these bridges would stop a convoy from getting to it's destination and there for be easily picked off, but by the time we got back to the convoy after blowing up the bridges, we noticed the convoy was past the bridges and heading to their destination. I did not get a chance to return to the bridges and see first hand the status. So my question is, are bridges self repairable and if so, whats time length on destruction ?
