DCS World 2025 Screenshots and Video Thread

Oh...Wow! I`m so impressed by the MiG ... Cheers TOM -
Hello I´m very happy with the MiG29- best module ED ever made. I really enjoy flying the Fulcrum. But unfortunatelly the missile R27 guidance has to be fixed and I must confirm the reports above here. Even if the target has no ECM on and no chaffs , just some rolls are enough the bring the R27 of track. It is so confusing and frustrating because even no "beaming" or cold turns or high g turns are necceasary to evade the missile even with stabile locks. I want kindly ask ED to update the missile guidance and I´m aware of that the module is under EA conditions. So far - A great job with the MiG29 was done and my heart is on fire for it. Thank you very much and Cheers TOM

DCS MiG-29A Screenshots and Videos Thread

That's ok, because Russian was the official aviation language in military and commercial aviation in East Germany (and all other Warsaw Pact states) Hello, That is correct - The aviation language for GDR - Forces was Russian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPeXGJd23eA Please go to Minute 18:50 in the training video. Cheers TOM -
Hi Thanks In the Editor use the MiG 23 and just Chance the last digit of the bord number in order to switch between both variants. Cheers Tom

Hello, and thank you very much. To answer: It is possible but I dont know how. So i would be more than happy if somebody would pack it as a mod and provide the MiG23 to the community in "DCS user files" If somebody is interested about the 3ds files please contact me. Everybody can use my mod in order to share, modify - all permissions are given. Thanks again and cheers TOM

Hello and good morning, DOWNLOAD of newest version of the AI MiG-23 replacement: https://www.mediafire.com/file/trqpute3b9ibgd9/TOMsMiG23-MOD_V2.0.rar/file Before you overwrite or replace a file, please create a backup copy first. This mod replaces the AI model for the MiG-23 and features the MLD and MF variants. It comes with skins for the Soviet, Syrian, Polish and East German air forces. In the early '70s, it was the state-of-the-art fighter designed to counter American and European fighters such as the F-4 Phantom or the F-104 Starfighter. The MiG-23 was never designed as a "dogfighter", but rather as a ground-controlled interceptor. To this end, the MiG carried R-24 missiles, which were infrared and radar guided. The tactic was to fly the MiG behind an enemy aircraft without using the radar. Once in position, the command was given to activate the sensors and fire the primary missiles in a single attack before escaping at high speed. However, despite the sound design, the MiG-23 was too expensive and complex, meaning the older MiG-21 is still in service. In the '80s, with the emergence of more modern jets such as the Tomcat, Eagle and Falcon, the MiG-23 was no longer competitive, but could still pose a threat if used within its limits and tactics. For the mod: To switch between variants, please change the board number in the DCS editor: below 5 (0–4) for the MF variant and above 5 (5–9) for the MLD variant. Cheers TOM

BRILLIANT WORK!!!!! Cheers TOM -
Hello Urbi, Well yes and no. I will not start a discusion here. Please provide the named files as .png or dds if you want. I will take a look about it. (You sent me .psd`s but I haven`t a licence for photoshop) Thank you very much for your comments. And nice skin for the ED-model of the MiG23. Very well done. Cheers TOM

Hi, I use the argument 32 - bord numbers, second digit to present the MiG23 MDL. Works good so far ... interesting as long as there is no switch in DCS ... Damage models next ... Hope it will be good. Cheers TOM

Hello friends, After a long time I returned back to my low-poly-MiG-project. So - some things I changed so far: - afterburner modeled - drag chute modeled and animated ( touches the ground when the AI is landing - ED) - pilot shape remodeled and textured - airbrakes animated - the eternal fight against vertex errors continued - bump map textures corrected - landing gear corrected - light settings corrected and some new skins created (Poland ans Syria) So far I would say, for a presentation of one of the most important fighter during the cold war, my work is good enough. Please ignore the download some messages above. After I some damages are modeled, I will upload the work to the community. Thats the news from the engine room. Thank you very much and always happy landings. Cheers TOM

Cheers Cold war map TOM -
Well - As long as there is no major update that changes everything (Sexy new modul ) or something I really need ( real ATC and tactical radio comunication and AWACs calls) no. Why ? The problem is : If there are more freaks like me, doing the same thing, then ED could lose some community members because not everybody has unlimited finacial resources and time available. Because with no updates you can not join online games or servers. Somebody might think, thats fine for me - I enjoy my own DCS alone. But then in the result the community might be divided a bit more
-
Yes - Exactly the point! I have the same problem and I avoid updates since ages. I have to make a decision: Delete Kola Map (The only map I have) and Update after or just let everything as it is. The problem is: Tons of skin files for types and aircrafts I `ve never asked and wanted. In order to download the Kola map or Cold War , I have to delete all the useless files I really not need or want ... 40GB´s just for the F-4 , 15GB`s for the F-1 , 600MB´s for the Christen Eagle What that fu.... plus all the WW2 stuff I not want or need. And evertimy when you hit the update button, DCS is trying to install all this ... again with the result ... guess what ... right, not enough space. So ... no updates, no problems. The real problem of ED nowadays: - too large skin files - too large map files (Kola 160GB`s, ColdWar 120GB`s) - too many unwanted modules ( I mean Christen Eagle ... come on!!!) Cheers TOM

Hi, Very important module and for I will buy for sure. Further I hope for more reds like Flanker or ... No just the Flanker - It was the start of everything in 1995 under the label of SSI - tears of memories ... Cheers TOM

Hello friends, Okay - So far from me. Have nice flights and happy landings. Cheers TOM

Hello friends, I worked hard this weekend and I`ve created some first skins. So what can I say: I had to downsize the textures because of my VR settings and in order to save RAM. I still fight gainst the pylon settings given in ED`s engine. If I renember correct there is maybe a lua-life somewhere where the angle of the weapons can be corrected - there was some in the very old past. Maybe hardscripted or coded nowadays? Still lots of animations have to be done but so far, I´m pretty satified about the results ... I think the low poly replacement is comming to an end. Cheers TOM

Yes and right - But at the end we just need a new model. Cheers TOM

Cold war map ... somebody said? Cheers TOM

Hello, I will go for the MF variant. A basic pilot model is done - Same as missile rails and most of the wraping. So the work is going forward. I only plan to present a replacement of the current 3D model. No flyable mod or stuff like that - just saying. Cheers TOM
-
Hi, For sure East German Forces, Polish and Russia. But - This project will take months. The further I go the more complex this fighter seems to be ... Cheers TOM
-
Hi Guys, Many thanks for your support. To Urbi: I don`t think that this would be a nice idea because with every model your have pivot points you dont know and you have to adjust, sometime geometry that blocks when you try mechanical animations and size problems overall plus: you never know the rights. So I better do it by my own and still having all rights so that later I can hand it over to the community withous any kind of legal problems. But yeah: nice model indeed. And I´m a very big fan of low poly - I know- that`s the mindset of an old guy with wake hardware. But I think when you see a well made model with good textures - that can look awesome - Like ED original FA-18 out of LockOnDays. That model is just brilliant. That (!) with just 5000 polygons ...wow! Flanker1 - Oh yes- That reminds me on my childhood. In special the aereal shoot - That is looking brilliant- like real. Yeah - I realized that RAZBAM wanted to present a MiG23. And we still have the old model - good but with limited texture options. And in fact the MiG23 is one of the most important jets we should have available in the Cold War szenario because it was the main oponent against Phantoms, Eagles and early F-16`s. So- Gearbay and Weels are textured. Next will be the front gear and then I have to model the wings. I have a deep respect about the flap system - that will be a hellish job for sure ... Cheers TOM
-
Hello, Sick since some days - So I started playing with the new PlugIns for 3dsMax. After some hours I realized that I took the worst possible fighter project for that- with the most complex gear system, created by some soviet engineers with a big load of hate against simple solutions ... gosh!!! null Cheers TOM

Dear Ugra Team I`ve created the Baltic Theater for Falcon BMS 4.33 eight years ago. It covered more or less the baltic sea, south Sweden, Northern Germany and Denmark. I was in that time pretty often criticized for the dark green colors, the millions of objects and hundreds of landmarks but that Theater had a small and very strong fan base. I`m more than happy to see you guys - the most talented map creators in DCS- working on that higly asked and wanted map. And so far of what I saw in the previews, you made a truly impressive job and this map will be a very sure day1 buy for me. You make dreams really come true. And in combination with heatblurs F4 and Eurofighter in future, this will be the absolute benchmark in DCS. I`m highly excited and can`t wait for the first flights over my loved home town. All I can say is thank you very much for all your hard work and I wish you luck and high success. (If possible - please keep the data low - I will for sure delete all other maps but everything more than 130 GB`s could be a show stopper 4 me - so fingers crossed) Again thanks and cheers TOM
