  1. Oh yes. That car is awesome. No - I meant a Ford Focus.
  2. Hello Mike, the rocket now flies very smoothly and pleasantly. Speed and range also look very good. Unfortunately, I have a real problem with the missile because they just don't hit anything anymore. Sometimes they climb straight up to 80 thousand feet like a rocket for no reason, and then fall out of space behind the target and lose lock. Or the target makes a lazy 30 degree turn and the rocket just gives up. Even if the missile makes it to the end, it seems like it just gives up and stops working in the last 100 metres. I have no problem with a shorter range, a quick loss of speed. But if the missile can't hit the simplest targets, it's obviously useless. I fired a total of 10 missiles last night online on the 107th's server. Mostly over 30 thousand feet. Only one AIM54C hit - in ACM mode. If you're in a Tomcat-A and your primary weapon doesn't work, then you don't stand a chance against pretty much any opponent. Even when the enemies can see you perfectly in the night trough the clouds. But that is an ED Problem. Yesterday I was parachuted in seven times. Even a F4 E took me out with a Sparrow. Thats like you driving a Ferrari and be outperformed by a Ford. - I turned off the computer, annoyed and exasperated. Kind regards TOM
  3. Yes- automatic PDSTT -> PSTT is enabled. I think that TacView could not show the problem. But to be honest- Jester is doing his dark magic in the backseat and I do not understand completely what he is doing. For the AIM54 in TWS everything is fine and I really enjoy Jesters comments and work. I will not miss him. But shooting a AIM7 seems to be impossible because every time he do something (because I hear him clicking something and the mode seems to be switched) and finally I hear the typical "I lost lock" from Jester. So should I disengage these automatic-function and everything is fine?
  4. Hi, I really don't know what Jester is doing but in fact I lost EVERY lock on target when I tried to use the Sparrow. Doesn't matter of range, altitude and the targets were all times hot and nearly at the same alt or higher. So pretty typical is: lock on (STT) , Fox 1 , Jester click some thing and telling "Damned I lost the target!" , visual, Fox 2, Fox 2, Fox 2 ....
  5. Ahem....Hi. Where does this pic comes from?! I've built the UB for Flaming Cliffs 10 years ago. But I never worked on Cockpits or stuff like that. So sorry - no. There is no mod in progress and I not working on any kind of mod now. But a full clickable MiG29 or Flanker ... that would be very very cool!
  6. Great Work!!! Hope many online servers will make this mod available. In special the "through the inferno"- servers. We need more Russian jets as opposite to the Falcons, Hornets and Tomcats. Cheers TOM
  7. Totally agree with that! And it would help to make the Mirage interesting for me again. I mean- it's a fighter and for now you can use it as a tactical bomber only. Sad because it's a sexy aircraft. Cheers TOM
  8. Hi, yes- I can confirm that. Jettison the tank causes the sidewinder tone for no reason. I was forced to switch to the sidewinder and back to AMRAAM but the radar is loosing all entries. So again : TWS, Range 80, 4 bar and so on. Not a showstopper, but not helpful because when you drop the tank? Yes - normally short before you start shooting ... Cheers Tom
  9. Very cool! Is there a mod? I just need good satellite on the ground- I'm not interested in flowers, waste bins or umbrellas on the beach for tourists.
  10. Hi, after the update: Works very well. Thank you so much. I´m totally happy with the AMRAAMs now. Well done, Cheers TOM
  11. Hi, indeed - there is something wrong in the late phase of the intercept path of the missile against a target. Short before impact, the missile start with wild weird oscillations for no reason. Even when the missile pass the target in 7 or less metres, the missile do not detonate as should be. Even the beam effect seems to be too effective. In fact it's factor for long ranges (more them 40 NM's) but not in short. The modern software and radars can dial with it much better then DCS now. For jamming targets - yes, the missile should go straight from the rail because there is no range to calculate the intercept run and even no range to activate the seeker. So from my point of view, it's correct. If there is no range from the RADAR or DATALINK. On the other hand: Now I can release a missile from 40NM's against two Su-27's and go cold. The missiles gliding perfectly into the Flankers. I tested it multiple times and I was really impressed. So it's not to bad. So for me: Just correct the missile behavior of the intercept endgame, the beam-effect in lower ranges and everything is fine for me. Thank you very much, TOM
  12. Hi, yes- the historical filter was the problem. My fault. So - NO BUG! Thank you very much. Cheers Tom
  13. Hi, I don´t know if this is reported or not. In mission editor no F-14Tomcat is useable and the aircraft is not shown in the drop down menue when setting a new aircraft or flight. It´s possible to open a quickmission and there the F-14 variants were present. Think that there is a problem since the last update. The F-14 is missing in every theater I have. (Syria,Caucasus,Persia, Channel) . Cheers TOM
  14. ITs NOT A BUG! ITs A FEATURE! Hi guys, Thank you very much for your helpful answers. I think the lights have put me on the right track. I turned the lights on just before starting and everything worked fine and as expected. LAter I found this statement in the HeatBlurSection. Yes, a case of RTFM : Night Catapult Signalization The standard way of launching off of the carrier at night is to flash the aircraft’s lights to signal the carrier crew. This is now implemented in the F-14, and takes the place of the standard salute during daytime.
  15. Hi, thank you very much. I will try it in future. Maybe I started early in the morning without lights on because I went into combat. And I never requested a launch via command line. So I will try all of this in future in hope all will be fine. I will write if it solve the problems I got. Cheers TOM
  16. Hi , yeah - sorry: spooling up...of corse. Whatever- Yes I tryed even LShift+U . And without solving the problem. Even a disconnection from the CAT is not possible. I haven't tested it for the Stennis - Because I'm interested in the Supercarrier only. Cheers Tom
  17. HI, I have the following problem: I cold started dark in multiplay on the deck of the aircraft carrier. I did the cold start normally, taxied to the CAT and everything was fine. After connecting to the CAT and the officer showed me the signals to start the engines: I pushed the engines to Full AB, saluted, and nothing happens. I saluted several times but no start was possible. There is also no more undocking from the CAT. My Tomcat is trapped and the only solution is to disconnect from the server. Ot happens more than 20 times on "Through the inferno" servers in the Caucasus and Syria. In the external view I clearly saw that the pilot saluted the officer. It seems that FA18s are not afflicted with this bug. Sometimes the take-off is possible - sometimes not. It's quite frustrating because I really don't know what causes this kind of error. Maybe I am the only one who has this problem. But I have it since the last update, so maybe other Tomcat drivers have the same problems? And no - I don't have any tracks. But I think it might be helpful to report a user problem. Thank you very much for your support, with best regards and cheers, TOM
  18. Hi, Oh yes: sorry for this "feeling". But how can you record "missing weight" because you have to have roll and pitch data - quite hard to do or maybe impossible just for an user. But the team has a lot of experience and knowledge so my hopes are very high that the module will have the best possible results and solutions. Thank you very much for your quick and kind reply. That's a very good service! Cheers TOM
  19. I bought the "mother of all badass helicopters" last Saturday. Normally I'm not that interested in helicopters, but the Mi24 is a must-have for me. Okay - I don't have that much real live experience. I trained in some military simulators in Bückeburg/Germany when I participated in a selection programme. Long story short: I know the maths, I understand the physics and I can fly one of these things safely. I expected a heavyweight monster helicopter when I entered the virtual cockpit. I made all the settings for my stick and was ready for my first T/O .... And that's when I was really disappointed. I thought, "This can't be happening!" , "I ""don't feel"" any weight!" I dropped the nose down, lifted it, moved it to the left and the behaviour felt more like a tiny little drone. The entire flight model acts very nervously, reacting to everything in just half a second.Even a simple vertical take-off brings you close to death, because the helicopter is too unstable due to the lack of weight and reacts to everything. If a 10 tonne helicopter behaved like that in real life, no one would fly it. I hope the team will change the flight model, because I am still very interested in this wonderful work. (I think that the model was good and was changed with one of the updates...) Greetings and cheers, Tom
  20. Hello ED team, the radio calls are kind of "classic" or "evergreen" and sometimes funny like "two, rolling". (How to hell can he roll when he is still on the runway?!?!) But in fact the radio calls have nothing to do with the reality. I have the deep desire to have radio calls close to real because all would be MUCH FASTER and the informations are important for saefty and combat. On Ground/Tower as examble: "Dodge21 , Tower, cleared to taxi runway 09 via Charly, Bravo, Alpha. QNH 2987, Wind 030, 15!" (read back ... ) "21 , Tower, cleared for take off 09" "Tower, 21 , leaving CTR, pushing tactical..." Request wind, request active runway QNH, QFE, holding points and so on and so on ... AWACS as examble: "21, Darkstar, two groups, range 20. Lead group London 340, 20 , 30 thousand, hostile" "21, Darkstar , engage bandit London 340, 15, 25 thousand!" or "21, Darkstar, commit 340!" Wingman as examble: "22 , 21 , engage!" "22!" "22, 21, go line right" "22!" "22, 21 , battle ceck" "22 , four , sero, two, plus, 6 thousand" I know, there are differend standards and procedures but NATO standard would be fine. Okay- it`s just a wish by me. I know, your team has many playgrounds and other important projects. Cheers Tom
  21. Thank you ED team for the very latest update. Now I can fly in VR and all runs smooth and the clouds looks like in RL. A big deal! Thank you very much! Yes- For now I`m very very happy. Cheers Tom
  22. Well , yes. I agree. The maneuvering of the AI has nothing to do with close combat fighting. The turns are pretty predictable. On the other hand: If you own a complex modern module and you do a long mission with ALL the actions you have to do and not just starting the aircraft, run into combat, shoot like hell and sometimes landing …. I mean , a really complex mission with all the aspects and actions, limitations, checks, calls, handling and tactics, then a simple dogfight is not on prio one. In fact most of the DCS users are great dogfighters but most would fail while performing a simple CAP including AA-Refuel from start to end even without enemies. Think, it depends of what you want. Training and complex missions or "just" wild dogfighting. But yes- Often I was thankful for the bad AI performance in dogfighting after a long flight into the combat area. Cheers Tom
  23. "4) one guy said the jitters went away after 4 days, without doing anything at all. " sounds more like a joke to me
