Hi, thank you very much. I will try it in future. Maybe I started early in the morning without lights on because I went into combat. And I never requested a launch via command line. So I will try all of this in future in hope all will be fine. I will write if it solve the problems I got. Cheers TOM -

Hi , yeah - sorry: spooling up...of corse. Whatever- Yes I tryed even LShift+U . And without solving the problem. Even a disconnection from the CAT is not possible. I haven't tested it for the Stennis - Because I'm interested in the Supercarrier only. Cheers Tom -

HI, I have the following problem: I cold started dark in multiplay on the deck of the aircraft carrier. I did the cold start normally, taxied to the CAT and everything was fine. After connecting to the CAT and the officer showed me the signals to start the engines: I pushed the engines to Full AB, saluted, and nothing happens. I saluted several times but no start was possible. There is also no more undocking from the CAT. My Tomcat is trapped and the only solution is to disconnect from the server. Ot happens more than 20 times on "Through the inferno" servers in the Caucasus and Syria. In the external view I clearly saw that the pilot saluted the officer. It seems that FA18s are not afflicted with this bug. Sometimes the take-off is possible - sometimes not. It's quite frustrating because I really don't know what causes this kind of error. Maybe I am the only one who has this problem. But I have it since the last update, so maybe other Tomcat drivers have the same problems? And no - I don't have any tracks. But I think it might be helpful to report a user problem. Thank you very much for your support, with best regards and cheers, TOM -
Hi, Oh yes: sorry for this "feeling". But how can you record "missing weight" because you have to have roll and pitch data - quite hard to do or maybe impossible just for an user. But the team has a lot of experience and knowledge so my hopes are very high that the module will have the best possible results and solutions. Thank you very much for your quick and kind reply. I bought the "mother of all badass helicopters" last Saturday. Normally I'm not that interested in helicopters, but the Mi24 is a must-have for me. Okay - I don't have that much real live experience. I trained in some military simulators in Bückeburg/Germany when I participated in a selection programme. Long story short: I know the maths, I understand the physics and I can fly one of these things safely. I expected a heavyweight monster helicopter when I entered the virtual cockpit. I made all the settings for my stick and was ready for my first T/O .... And that's when I was really disappointed. I thought, "This can't be happening!" , "I ""don't feel"" any weight!" I dropped the nose down, lifted it, moved it to the left and the behaviour felt more like a tiny little drone. The entire flight model acts very nervously, reacting to everything in just half a second.Even a simple vertical take-off brings you close to death, because the helicopter is too unstable due to the lack of weight and reacts to everything. If a 10 tonne helicopter behaved like that in real life, no one would fly it. I hope the team will change the flight model, because I am still very interested in this wonderful work. (I think that the model was good and was changed with one of the updates...) Greetings and cheers, Tom

Hello ED team, the radio calls are kind of "classic" or "evergreen" and sometimes funny like "two, rolling". (How to hell can he roll when he is still on the runway?!?!) But in fact the radio calls have nothing to do with the reality. I have the deep desire to have radio calls close to real because all would be MUCH FASTER and the informations are important for saefty and combat. On Ground/Tower as examble: "Dodge21 , Tower, cleared to taxi runway 09 via Charly, Bravo, Alpha. QNH 2987, Wind 030, 15!" (read back ... ) "21 , Tower, cleared for take off 09" "Tower, 21 , leaving CTR, pushing tactical..." Request wind, request active runway QNH, QFE, holding points and so on and so on ... AWACS as examble: "21, Darkstar, two groups, range 20. Lead group London 340, 20 , 30 thousand, hostile" "21, Darkstar , engage bandit London 340, 15, 25 thousand!" or "21, Darkstar, commit 340!" Wingman as examble: "22 , 21 , engage!" "22!" "22, 21, go line right" "22!" "22, 21 , battle ceck" "22 , four , sero, two, plus, 6 thousand" I know, there are differend standards and procedures but NATO standard would be fine. Okay- it`s just a wish by me. Well , yes. I agree. The maneuvering of the AI has nothing to do with close combat fighting. The turns are pretty predictable. On the other hand: If you own a complex modern module and you do a long mission with ALL the actions you have to do and not just starting the aircraft, run into combat, shoot like hell and sometimes landing …. I mean , a really complex mission with all the aspects and actions, limitations, checks, calls, handling and tactics, then a simple dogfight is not on prio one. In fact most of the DCS users are great dogfighters but most would fail while performing a simple CAP including AA-Refuel from start to end even without enemies. Think, it depends of what you want. Training and complex missions or "just" wild dogfighting. But yes- Often I was thankful for the bad AI performance in dogfighting after a long flight into the combat area. Cheers Tom

Hi, just my two cents … The water looks very nice to me. Waves , structure all is fine and looks realistic. But the reflections of clouds seems to be to much. I flew some years close to the Baltic sea and Northern sea. And I never saw that reflections I have now in DCS. So I switched the detail level of water to "medium" which is fine to me. In result: Water - great job, ED! But reflections are way to much. Cheers Tom -
Yeah right. In fact I disengaged tacview because multiplay were not possible any more. I think that something went wrong but I`m not pretty sure if this is an ED or Tacview error. Cheers Tom

Hm … maybe. But the core members which purchased a lot of ED modules using VR nowadays. For me- the option to use VR googles is the striking argument for DCS. So ED is correct when they pushed the issues into highly priority section of development. I really hope the team will be able to fix the cloud jiggling problem soon. The new cloud system is a big step forward but spent me a lot of motion sickness. Cheers Tom

More players on one server more graphics shots.

Yeah - same here. Overall, the performance is very fine and 2.7 is running very smooth for me. But an increasing number of users while multiplay (arround 25 or more) causing stutters even when the graphic settings are low. It fells like it is caused by the update rate of the hosting server. Yupp -same here. Plus : in Multiplay Jester call "Bolter" everytime, even when you catch the wire. Well - It could be possible, that some adjustments must be done by the HeatBlur team. Secondo me, all that things are not a showstopper but it would be nice if these are fixed at some day. Same as the crew animation while take off. That deck crew member who is using a rod into the launch system, is diving into the Tomcat shape when he stands up. Cheers and cari saluti, Tom

I did it for Falcon BMS 4.33. That area is very important and the Falcon drivers loved that terrain! That is one of the most important area of Europe. Please keep in mind: the falcon engine was very old and outdated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5HKQAzICIY Cheers Tom

Hi, in most cases the AIM120 did a good job. And if they had not catched the target I mostly found good reasons for that. In most cases the enemys notched the AIM120`s out in combination with chaffs. Sometimes I lost the track and often the enemys flown sightlines to went out of the seeker of missiles. I personally like that. But sometimes the missile is on track , all is fine and short before impact the missile turn into another direction for no reason. Up in the air or trying to catch a chaff cloud even when these chaffs are out of the missile seeker. I don`t know why - Wrong inputs from the fighter-radar? ECM of enemy fighters? Ground reflections? I don`t know. But it looks a bit wrong to me. In past the AIM`s worked much better. To make it clear - I`m pretty happy with DCS but in my view the actives need a bit of attention. Hi, I really love DCS carrierOPS ! Driving the Cat and the Hornet- all is perfect. But I really don`t like the FLOLS-overlay. Think it`s disturbing while landing. I can see the meatball clearly through my VR and the LSO working fine. So - please ED, create a switch to turn it off in menu. Incomming new clouds+ switchable FLOLS layer= verry happy and close to perfect to me. Cheers Tom
