  1. slowly getting there - flying' around, calling up, checking rsbn.. actually a good way to see the maps... :)
  2. Whilst testing custom radio configs last night, received messages from 'Dreamland' What/Where is Dreamland? I'm sure many of you will already know but for people like me, grab a coffee, sit back and discover: https://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/aggressor-air-controllers-display-clearly-shows-aircraf-1696453612 :alien:
  3. trying to compile up-to-date information ... so many charts literally 'flying around'... anyone know the RSBN number and ATC frequencies for this airport?
  4. ... apologies for being a little late in offering my condolences - only just discovered this awful news a few minutes ago - this very kind man was always so helpful
  5. Hey, great... The first thing anyone interested in taking up virtual flying should do is join this forum. As you can see, I've been around on DCS for a few years but I've only recently returned to flying after an absence of 12 months through work commitments... so much needs doing throughout the year but the long cold winter months always slow things down making plenty of time for DCS.
  6. @chromium no, I didn't actually - good point glad you mentioned this
  7. @Frederf A really helpful answer - much appreciated So, for MiG21, currently, ATC not working in NTTR (across the board) unless you edit the list of pre-set radio channels in the mission editor? By this I mean, replace the 'default' frequencies in the mission editor with the 'more realistic' frequencies When I open the mission editor, create a new mission and click the radio tab, I see a list of pre-set radio channels containing 'default' frequencies If, for the purposes of this exercise, I replace the 'default' frequency in pre-set (1) with a 'realistic' frequency, tuning the radio in the cockpit to pre-set (1) should enable me to contact the ATC associated with that frequency (easy comms off) So, using the following example: NELLIS AFB VHF AM 132.550 UHF AM 327.000 VHF(L) AM 38.700 HF AM 3.900 Two questions: Which one of the four frequencies above should I use for MiG21? How do you know which frequency 'band' to use? :book:
  8. @Frederf Thank you - very helpful... now I can find my way around the map! Re. calling ATC's, still struggling to find a list containing the pre-set radio numbers for use in the MiG21 (similar to charts available for the Caucasus map) I'm starting to wonder if in fact a generic list exists - maybe, you have to create your own pre-sets using the mission editor?
  9. @phant Brilliant mate.. I am sure this will be really appreciated Many thanks
  10. After hours of searching ... anyone know where I can get an up-to-date list of all available RSBN and ATC channels for NTTR in relation to MiG21
  11. Standby for an update... Hollywood is now on the case
  12. @Hollywood_315 Thank you for clarifying - brilliant
  13. ... loads of views (115) so far - thanks to everyone for taking a peek.. I didn't expect an immediate answer as this is just one of those weird things I suppose but thanks anyway. Following further testing, designed to eliminate various possibilities, it would appear this 'clicking' only occurs if the following conditions are met: Vaicom Pro / DCS / Mig21 / Caucasus Map Maybe, other Vaicom Pro / MiG owners will try this combo and report back? It doesn't happen (for me) when other planes or maps are loaded I will update this thread when the cause of this has been confirmed.
  14. No, thanks for the suggestion (I know what you mean, had the same problem myself in the past) but, no, this is coming from something in the cockpit. I immediately checked the throttle lock because the click sound is identical. I thought I might see a switch or something animate if it was a stray key bind but, nothing... it's weird how it's literally every 6 seconds - I thought it might be coming from the flight clock as those two push buttons also make the same click sound when you push them in. Just wondered if someone could check to see if it happens in their MiG21 If it doesn't, I will explore further as it must be something at my end :)
  15. I have a clicking sound (repeats once every 6 seconds) inside the cockpit of my MiG-21Bis which occurs all the time, whether cold on the ground (before anything is switched on) or during flight. It is the same click sound which can be heard when operating the throttle latch and flight clock push buttons but none of these animate when the click occurs? I have eliminated a few possibilities like Helios profile, TARGET profile, TrackiR, Vaicom Pro as the click still occurs even when none of these are loaded. Any other suggestions? Any way to monitor/log key presses? :book:
  16. ... and DCS just keeps getting better and better - we are all so lucky
  17. @Hollywood_315 The VA profile includes voice commands in respect of 'Open the canopy' and 'Close the canopy' so I tried adding the keyboard command RCTRL+C (for MiG-21Bis) Of course, you will know this was a mistake as this resulted in adding the same keyboard command to everything else in the profile! So, deleted and returned to the drawing board... I have tried various other things (which I won't bore everyone with) but, can't figure it out :( How do you add a new voice command to the VA profile which triggers a keyboard command and then add this to the drop-down list in Vaicom Pro for voice training?
  18. oh noooooo, don't say that! :helpsmilie:
  19. I'm beginning to regret I started this now - sod it, I'll just head over and buy it - job done :)
  20. @[Maverick] Nothing, unless someone has an insight into the original question but on reflection, I should have chose a different place before posting - apologies Re. cost, everyone's circumstances differ but in the end 'most' of us like a bargain from time to time Almost a full hanger and paid top dollar for all... always seem to miss special offers! The price you pay for impatience :)
  21. ... yeah, I'm trying to persuade DCS to do a 3-4-2 deal so if I pay for the other two mine is FREE... that's good marketing.. er, hang on... roll back... that might not be such a good idea!
  22. @swatstar98 @Mule Well, that's it then, I think DCS should announce the next three people to place an order will get it for free!
  23. Impatient and on the verge of getting the Persian Gulf Map! What's the chances of any special deals popping up soon especially with Black Friday on the horizon:music_whistling:
