Capt, DCS community is blessed to have you. Congratulations on finishing another STUNNING profile! -
Let me put it this way... if my TrackiR blew up today, I'd have another on order without any hesitation... I think it's one of those things that once you've had, you just can't do without!

Target Software keeps crashing
slicker55 replied to LeCuvier's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I recently started getting the 'TargetGUI' pop-up message when the module's progress bar is about 80% loaded (just after 'Loading Land Textures' appears) Tests confirmed this issue isn't specific to a particular version of DCS or module. Some posts suggest changing the keyboard to US English but this didn't work for me. I have 'Run as Administrator' set in the program 'properties' section - tried un/checking this - still no joy. In the end I saved my custom profiles, uninstalled the program, unplugged the throttle and stick and installed the latest version of the program. I was previously using an older version of this software (don't know whether this is relevant) but installing the latest version appears to have fixed the issue for me. Just a tip... before proceeding, back-up all your custom profiles! -
Art-J, Seems to have sorted it now after checking the keyboard commands. Thanks

otro impresionante pieza de trabajo desde el maestro de la perfección -
Art-J, Thanks - I will check my settings and report back.

Cunning_Fox, I'm watching this thread with interest - also noticed the same issue - comms works until I'm airborne?

A very detailed module - love it

Thanks guys, I have mine set up the same - just wondered if anyone had come up with anything better?

Anyone figured out how to assign the Mig15's 4-position flaps lever to the Warty's 3-position flaps switch?
-
Although having watched many tutorials, I have been baffled by the start-up procedure on the MiG15. Some Youtube tutorials made for earlier versions of this module do not mention getting ground crew to connect ground power (F8, F2, F1) and there are other discrepancies in relation to switchology. My engine would initially spool and then die despite following what I believed was the correct procedure except for one oversight! This image shows the position of the engine shut-off valve (11) - note this is NOT the larger and more prominent lever (10) when viewed from the pilot's seat. An elementary mistake on my part and something which other people having a similar problem may appreciate me mentioning.

You're all very welcome...

Question: Transfer Serial Number For DCS Module
slicker55 replied to slicker55's topic in Payment and Activation
Hi firmek, Thanks for taking the trouble to research this topic and share the results - no wonder there is confusion - para 1 and 9 clearly contradict each other and then, of course, we have the on-line facility to easily unbind and bind to a different user account although, note there is a full audit trail. I agree with your summary and furthermore, see nothing to suggest the reverse process cannot be equally applied provided each party fulfils the requirements of para 9 although some clarification regarding the contradiction between para 1 and 9 would prevent the risk of potentially contravening the EULA Again, this is just for healthy debate! -
Question: Transfer Serial Number For DCS Module
slicker55 replied to slicker55's topic in Payment and Activation
Agree... I think ED would say the 'binding' system is to facilitate things like 'gifting' and a 'sale', transactions which are on a more permanent basis as opposed to swopping back and forth. That said, it is a reversible process, maybe to enable the module/s to be legitimately used by the same person across different user accounts. I don't know why someone would want to have multiple user accounts but we may become enlightened in due course if this debate continues. I also think that if people latch onto the possibility they can swop/share modules we could lose a potentially useful facility so, with this in mind, I thought I would lead by example and simply purchase the module! Now I have a shiny new MiG15Bis parked up in amidst an almost full hanger of lovely DCS planes.... and NO, you can't borrow one... LOL :D -

Question: Transfer Serial Number For DCS Module
slicker55 replied to slicker55's topic in Payment and Activation
Cheers agentdarnell ... I was a bit too early posting the question as I've just googled and discovered that, like you say, it is permitted. Thanks for answering so quickly though - appreciated. I'm just a little unsure whether the process is reversible. There is no risk attached to the proposed transaction - we are both very good friends... it's just that I want to take a look at one of his modules to determine if I wish to purchase a copy for myself and then transfer the module back to him. Do you know if we'll run into any problems reversing the transfer? -
Does anyone know if it is possible to temporarily transfer the serial number for one of my DCS modules to let a friend try it out before purchasing his own? Of course, I want the serial back once he's decided whether he likes it or not. Legitimate suggestions only please.

Request: Multi-monitor aid.. program?
slicker55 replied to Lanka's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm not aware of a specific program to match your criteria but yes, it would be very handy if we could simply drag n drop a cockpit item to a preferred location. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as that but with a little patience you can learn how to export instruments etc via viewports: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=70716 Another option would be to utilise a Helios profile available here: http://www.captzeen.com/helios/index.asp An excellent Helios profile for the A-10C can be downloaded from here: http://www.gadrocsworkshop.com/node/9 Hope this helps -

Helios not working after new monitors
slicker55 replied to Beeroshima's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Interesting ... let's see how it goes... -
For Helios you need a PC based system... You don't specifically need a touchscreen though... instead you can use a normal screen to display the Helios profile and control the virtual switches etc in the profile with a mouse. If you haven't already done some searches on the net, you may be surprised what's out there, I'm sure you'll find an alternative solution to work with your tablet/android - also check Youtube... Here's one possibility - actually, this is how I started out (expect a learning curve) but it's fun... [ame] [/ame] [ame] [/ame]

Maybe too late mentioning this but Helios can be used with any game which uses key commands
