PoleCat please. I scoured nothing to find that link. My hope is he's got his problem resolved and happily flying the virtual skies, to busy to report back. I visit Frugals from time to time, sure. That time, there it was, big as the sun in the sky, no scouring needed. I know there are those that don't care for CH Products, and that's okay. I can live with that, really, I can. I've quit, as you put it trying to present the Cougar as a "horror show". But, that being said, I feel the consumer should be inforrmed. That's all. Nothing wrong with that? Is there? I'm still waiting on the interchangeable handles as advertized on the box. ;)
I do like the sexy ergonomic feel of the Cougar, I do. By the way, the real stick/throttle isn't made of Zamak ;) Nor are they made of glass Filled Nylon. Or plastic for that matter. So the "real feel" doesn't fly for any PC joystick/HOTAS out there. Honestly, ya'll can fly whatever joystick/HOTAS you want, I could care less.
So, if somebody asks what stick/HOTAS I'll continue to recommend CH Products. Why? Well, it's really simple and comes down to a single word, quality. Quality product; Hardware as well as Software. Control Manager is one of the few (maybe only?) programming softwares for a HOTAS + system that can be used with Win98, ME, 2000, XP (32 and 64bit) Vista (All Versions) I've even read where people are using Windows 7 without problems. Quality product support. I doubt you'll find any arguement from anybody on any forum on that point.
+ = MFP, DT225 TrackBall
I'm not saying some don't have issues with either hardware or software. Some do. Most of them are as you probably know (when it comes to the interface between the controller/CM or Foxy/and the game) are unaware of how they work together, get frustrated and need something to blame. And since the joystick/HOTAS was the last thing plugged in, well guess what gets the blame. :(
In the end, pick what you want, after you've done your homework. If you decide to fly a Cougar, okay, CH, that's okay too (even better) :smilewink: after all, they're all just toys.
