*Superior wing structure served as a fuel tank, increasing range of operation.
*Once superior wing was empty of fuel it could be jettisoned, returning the aircraft to it's original single wing configuration.
*In other words, the aircraft would take-off as a biplane but would return to land as a monoplane.
*The first successful flight took place the 16th of June 1941.
*The British Department of War abandoned the project.
