  1. Yes that's the difference the laser makes, an accurate designation, doesn't mean it should be impossible to create one, it just wont be as accurate, as far as I can tell we cant do that yet in the hornet or If we even will be able to in the future(the functionality stopped working in the A10C IRC).
  2. The aircraft knows its own attitude and altitude, it knows where in the world it is and it knows where the tgp is looking so I don't think its impossible, this is similar to how the A10C/litening functions.
  3. Will the rest of the pilot voice lines be updated along with this? Comms with awacs, wingmen etc. Wont be very immersive if it uses two different voices.
  4. I watched your track and don't see anything unusual apart from your first run where you had them set for FF. I tested them myself after the recent update and am pleased with the results. Just how accurate are snakeyes supposed to be when employed at low level, wings level and high speed? I'm no expert but are they really intended to be a precision weapon on a single small target? Probably not, I imagine they are meant to be dropped in high quantities over a larger area.
  5. It is aircraft system time, it replaces "MENU" with weight off the wheels.
  6. Watched your track and noticed you had flaps in auto when you launched, I tried it myself on that exact mission, they were defaulted to half for me, If I took off with half flaps it works fine, If I take off with flaps in auto I get your issue. I don't know if its supposed to work like that or not but I know the FCS operates differently with flaps in auto vs flaps in half/full. Since you had flaps in auto from the start I would check to see if you have "Synchronize Cockpit Controls with HOTAS Controls at Mission Start" under Misc. Options and if you do then either disable it or make sure when you start a mission that the controls are in the correct position.
  7. Yea that does the trick, I did notice after this latest update that changing AA settings does not automatically restart the game as it was prior If I remember correctly. Further testing revealed to me that starting DCS with MSAA enabled and then changing to SSAA without restarting will always produce the artifact, whereas starting DCS with zero AA or with SSAA enabled and then changing the AA settings without restarting would not produce the artifact.
  8. I experienced a similar issue today with SSAA enabled and MSAA disabled, see the attached screenshots. External view you can see this artifact in the shape of the aircraft while inside you can see the hard edge it creates on the water with lighter side having all of the different shades of shallow/deep water and shorelines. I tried again this time with SSAA off and MSAAx4 and everything was fine, beautiful looking water and shorelines with different shades for deep and shallow water, one last time I tried with both MSAA and SSAA disabled and noticed the artifact had returned. Interestingly after I exited the game and came to post here I decided to give it one more test before doing so and this time no matter the AA setting I could not reproduce the artifact. Perhaps an intermittent bug? I haven't yet rebuilt FXO and Metashaders folders since the PG patch, maybe that could help?
  9. Its in Minab, Iran. Exact coordinates in the screenshot.
  10. I just mapped the primary and secondary trigger on my warthog in game for MG131 fire and MG131/151 fire respectively and it works fine. Or are you intending to use a T.A.R.G.E.T profile for other functions as well as trigger? You could just remap the bindings in DCS so "Space" is MG131 and "Space+RCtrl" is both guns.
  11. As per the title. Latest 2.5.1 open beta build. Co'ordinates are in the screenshots.
  12. Could it be you have the Flight Director engaged while trying to do this?
  13. This is definitely starting to look a lot better, thanks for the update Wags.
  14. I understand what you are saying but I find it hard to believe these are the same water assets, I am happy to be proven wrong, I just noticed a distinct change in the way the water looks in the Persian Gulf screens from last year to this year that differing perspectives and or sun angles couldn't account for.
  15. Some screens from last year of PG map show beautiful water not just at sea but around shorelines, while the newest screens, I am sorry to say, show very ugly water assets. Here are 2 screens pulled from the screenshot section on the ED store of Abu Musa, the earlier screen from late last year the island actually looks "grounded" with water around it while the latest one from last month just looks terrible, like the island is floating above the water. I believe this is the same water currently being used in caucuses? I understand its still WIP and wags mentioned in the latest stream that work was still being done in this area for the Persian Gulf map Just what can we expect?
  16. Deferred shading just flat out ruins night time flying, flood lights dont work in some aircraft while it is on, same with illumination rockets. here is some pics I took in NTTR flying towards vegas at 2300 hours from the NE, 1st is 19miles from vegas center, if you look closely you can just see nellis runway lights at 11oclock, 2nd is same scenario with deferred shading turned off
  17. You don't need afterburner at all to make the time restrictions, I just completed the 4th mission, Afterburner on takeoff then off not long after I am in the air, my wingmen are formed up about 6-8 miles from the northeastern turn into the sally corridor and I begin a roughly 2 degree climb through the corridor, made it to the marshaling point with about 2 minutes to spare. The next time I touch burner is when we pushed west over the FEBA and into combat, after we downed everything in the area and all the strike aircraft did what they had to do it was mission success but I chose to fly home, all 3 wingmen made it home and joined the landing pattern not once did they call BINGO.
  18. I just finished the 3rd mission and have not had a wingman go bingo once, maybe I am just used to how the AI fly and I fly accordingly. Are you guys using burner alot and separating from your wingmem?
  19. I found mine in DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Mods\campaigns
  20. I got to see this corsair up close and in action at warbirds over wanaka 2012 here in New Zealand, that particular corsair served with the RNZAF during ww2, after the war it spent some time in the US and then the UK before coming back to NZ, was great to see it, I even have some footage I need to upload at some point here's a pic anyway.
  21. Yes that is correct, but they were manufactured with land base operations in mind so the folding wings and tailhook were removed, now I'm sure the USMC didn't just receive these but also some USN hand me downs that still retained the folding wings and tailhook. Either way I'm pretty hyped for a corsair whichever variant we get, its just the leak specified F4U-1 which could mean just that an F4U-1 or it could mean an F4U-1A/C/D etc.. just have to wait and see I guess.
  22. Any source that we are getting a late war F4U-1? The first F4U-1s were carrier capable even if the USN couldn't use or adapt it and those given to USMC were designated FG-1's.
  23. I hope not, if AMD goes under it will stifle innovation and intel and nvidia will hold a monopoly over the CPU and GPU markets respectively, charging whatever prices they want.
  24. Yep the RAM will run at the slower speed, also it is not recommended to mix and match ram from different vendors, so just use your 16gigs of new RAM.
  25. Just WOW, 1.5 looks and runs like a dream, sure there are some issues but they are to be expected, but overall it is just amazing. ED have done a fantastic job and I cant thank them enough, really appreciate the work they have put in. Congratulations ED!
