  1. Yes. it might me left for me but I can't remember which way it is right now. I'll try tapping the brakes next time.
  2. I'm having problems with my Saitek Combat rudder settings. When I land and apply the brakes just below 100kts, I veer of to the right as my nose comes down for some reason. I think it might be to do with my rudder setting, but it could be when I land that I'm doing something wrong. Can someone tell me what their settings are in the fine tune axis on the Combat ruder pedals including brake settings. Thanks!
  3. @emg - No offence, but I appreciate all the help I can get on these forums. I don't fly with friends like you, so it's good that I can ask questions on the forums and receive good and proper information. I haven't flown the MiG-21 or TF-51, so again it's good information for me. You are right that I should just try it in the game, but it's good to have the correct information before I do that. I'm sure when you started out formation flying or whatever else it is you have learned, that you need to know things prior to trying these things out. I also think it's good getting the proper information because I like to learn about proper aviation, but I don't always have the time to read books on it.
  4. My job Will hop into my pit at home, switch BATT TRN, ALT1&2 on, put INU on/to align. Get out of pit and make a coffee. Ask the bird how her day went or talk to the pet parrot. Hope back in the pit and I'm good to go. When I ask that question to the bird though, I'll be well over the alignment time of 8 mins. Can you extend this to over an hour by any chance?
  5. For the total newbies among use how would you do this exactly? I wanted it set to a switch on my CH Quadrent, but have no idea how to do it. Would this also mess something up if they are adding it to the next patch, if you do this?
  6. I have posted this in another thread, but since it's a different topic I decided to make a thread. When I go into my setting for Mirage 2000, it won't allow me to assign the seat up & down setting to a switch on one of my devices. I don't really want to mess about reaching for the keyboard to raise the seat when I'm landing, but it will only allow me to use the keyboard keys because the other devices are not selectable. Is this the same for everyone else with the seat setting or are you able to set it to another device? I'm wondering if it's my setting that are bugged.
  7. Thanks for reminding me about the seat this will come in handy. This leads me to another question though. 8. I'm going to try landing tomorrow because it's getting a little late here. I think I'm going to end up as a heap on the runway though on my first attempt. I'm really dreading landing and keeping the nose up because I'm guessing you can't see infront of you while the nose is up, is this correct?
  9. What speed should you be doing when you touch down on the runway? Also, what approach speed should you be doing? Thanks!
  10. Which DCS exe file does the Nvidia control panel use? Thanks!
  11. When you say it only runs for a few seconds in the A10C, do I have to keep switching it off and then back on to make it last longer? When I press ECM, it seem to continue to work because it keeps flashing until I press the switch again and the light remains steady. Are you sure it only lasts a few seconds, because I don't see it's purpose if it only stays on a few seconds. I mean if you switch it on to avoid a missile and it then switches itself off after a few seconds, isn't the missile going to hit you? I have read the manual 3 times now, but it doesn't say a lot about when to switch on ECM. I also looked on Youtube, but don't see a great deal about it on there either. Thanks!
  12. I'm having real problems knowing when to switch ECM Jamming on and when to leave it off. Would I be right in thinking you only switch it on when something locks on to you? Or should I be switching it on when something is tracking me or has fired it's missile at me? At what point do I switch it on? Also, I fly the A10C, but whatever the correct answer is, does rhis apply to all aircraft the same. Thanks!
  13. I just downloaded Tacview, but I don't have a clue how to use it. I looked on Youtube thinking there would be a tutorial on how to use it, but I was surprised to find that nobody has done a tutorial. Can someone help me out on how to use this program or give me a link to a tutorial? Thanks!
  14. This is what I normally do, but the Mav was warming up while I had the TGP targeting a tank. Once the Mav was up and running that's when I changed the Mav to SOI and tried to use ChinaHat to bring it to the TGPs target.
  15. TGP moved of it's target and I couldn't lock with the Mavs after that. @Blooze why does the TGP move of it's target though, is it meant to do this if you are not close enough when using a Maverick? Thanks!
  16. I'm having a problem with the TGP moving of it's target sometimes and I have no idea why it does it. I normally target something with the TGP as SOI and then use TMS fwd long to make the target SPI. I tap TMS fwd to change it to point instead of Area over the target. A this point I make the Maverick on the other MFCD SOI and I ChinaHat long forwards to bring it over to the TGP target. This is when I seem to have a problem at times though. Sometimes as ChinaHat fwd long, the TGP will move of its target even though it's not SOI? Can some explain why it does this?
  17. Some great info here, it's given me an understanding of how this works now. It's one thing setting something up, but you first have to understand what it does to know what's going on. Thanks for the info all.
  18. Will this mean there will be no way of navigating while it's in beta? I mean, if there's no waypoints in the radar or INS?
  19. I'm familiar with EGI, but I thought that INS was a whole new way of navigating. Would you say INS is like EGI, but without the moving map on the MFCD? I'm just a bit confused by the two.
  20. Just when I thought I'd learned enough to get me started, I find something comes along that I don't have a clue about. I'm talking about the inertial navigation system (INS.) I currently fly the A10C, but I now notice the next aircraft I've purchased the Mirage 2000, is using INS. I'm just curious if this navigation method is something that's hard to grasp. I couldn't make heads or tails of it in the A10C, and I wasn't sure if it was even implemented in that aircraft. Anyways, is it a pain to learn or is it something that is quite easy to pick up?
  21. I and many others won't consider it to be useless in Multiplayer. Since when has DCS been about dogfighting in Mutiplayer all the time? Many servers are put up just to learn the aircraft and enjoy flying it and that's what I'll be doing. This is the reason it's in beta because it doesn't have all the functions yet.
  22. I've never noticed an "L" pop up when a radar is tracking me. I'll have to look out for that and read page 410 of the manual. I've read the manual like 3 times now and with so much to remember it's like I've never read it sometimes. I'll ask another question though that might help me out a little bit. When a missile is launched at what range from your aircraft does the red missile warning light start to flash?
  23. Why do I get so many missile warnings in the A10C, even when they are not headed my way? When the red warming light keeps flashing and beeping, I keep thinking a missile is locked onto me when it isn't. How can I determine if the missile has my name written all over it and is meant for me?
  24. Yeah, it's going to be well worth the price. I think the the Vive is going to be the rich kids toy and no better then the Rift.
  25. Well this would be a first for Oculus, because with their track record they are usually late rather then early. I just wish they would release the next Runtime, which is 1.0, I think. Once they do this, it will be the end of compatibility issues if devs are willing to update their games. Hopefully games like Elite Dangerous and DCS will all work together instead of compatibility issues. I heard most devs are waiting for the next runtime, because this is the one that will be compatible with the CV1 Rift.
