  1. Do you own the Rift? Because you are right to a point, but also wrong on some things. You are wrong that just pressing the numpad 5 key positions you correctly in the Cockpit of the A10C. I own the Rift and have already explained this to you. I have to lean forward and then duck before pressing Num 5 in-order to get the correct position in the cockpit. I also said the neck mod might not work with VR and to try a Snap view to get the correct position at the start.
  2. Yeah, something like a zoom key and Up & Down key to adjust where you are sat in the Cockpit. That way I wouldn't have to duck my head, lean forward and then press the Numpad 5 key to get a good position in the A10C.
  3. When I start in the A10C, it feels like I'm in the same position in the Rift as I am on the PC monitor. VR cannot fix where the Devs decide to place you in the cockpit and this is why I suggested snap views or maybe even the neck mod. I make adjustments in the A10C by moving my head forward and then press numpad 5, because I feel like my head has been placed in the wrong position if I don't use this method. The Dk2 might use absolute positional tracking, but in the A10C, it doesn't place you where you should be in the cockpit. Do you really think that's where you should be sat when you start the Sim in the A10C? To me it places the pilots head to close to the upfront control panel instead of him been sat back in his seat. This is why the neck mod was created, because it made you sit back in your seat instead of been in some other weird position. I might be wrong, but I think they have it like this because it helps you to read the dials in the A10C. I don't have to make any adjustments for the Ka -50 BlackShark or the World War 2 planes. But the BlackShark has large digits on the HUD that you can read when sat back, so this might be the reason this places you in the proper position.
  4. No you are not mistaken, but snap views are not a Mod and neither is moving your head in the Oculus Rift LoL. I'd hardly call the neck mod a mod and I did say only if you know how to uninstall mods before updates. Edit: But I guess your are right. I haven't installed any mods while 1.5 is in beta, but it's good for future reference when you can install them.
  5. I've just set it up on the left side properly now and I have to say it works flawlessly. This should be a sticky somewhere because I didn't know it had to be on the left hand side. I have seen plenty of posts where people have ad difficulty with Trackir and this might be the reason why. Thanks again!
  6. Blooze has hit the nail on the head, I've just switched everything to the left side and I think it's going to work. Never in a million years would I have thought this could cause it. It's not a proper track clip pro and they've made it to go on the right side. I've switched it to the left and it may need bending a bit, but I really think this is going to work now. Why on earth doesn't it work on both sides though? Thanks all for your replies and thanks For getting this to work Blooze. I really wished I'd asked earlier instead putting up with this for 2 years. I've lost count of the times this has gone erratic just when I'm about to press fire LOL.
  7. Thanks for the replies, but this defiantly isn't a light source issue. I to thought it might be at first, but I've even gone as far as building shutters on my windows. My room can be in pitch darkness and it still does it. The funny thing is it only seems to do it in on direction. I have the camera set at an 90 degree angle and set the same in the camera software, but when I look left it goes erratic when I reach 90 degree. All the other directions are fine, it just seem the direction where the legs on the trackir are that gives me problems. This is the same direction it caused it to act erratic when using the hat clip, the direction of the Trackir legs. @Blooze I have a track clip which connects on my right side only. Why do you say it is important to be on the left side? I think this one only clips onto the right side of my headset.
  8. I'm not sure if it's my Trackir that is faulty, but I seem to spend more time setting this thing up then I do any other controller I've owned. Even when I think I have set it up correctly, I can guarantee on another day it will start acting all weird and start bouncing about while I'm trying to use switches or keep my head still. I've watched the you tube thing with Gerry, but still my Trackir bounces about more times then not. So is this just my Trackir doing this or does everyone's do it? I've owned this for 2 years and can honestly say I find it rubbish for the fact I keep having to mess about with it. I've now got the track clip pro and it's still no better then the hat clip. I wish someone would bring something out that used tracking like the Oculus Rift DK2 does, because that is spot on when it comes to tracking where you look. No bouncing about and where you look it stays still.
  9. You can setup where you want to be placed in a cockpit using snap views, I think this works with DK2, but I'm not 100% sure. I haven't set it up or tried it myself yet in the Rift, but I plan too. For now if I want to be sat further back in the cockpit, I just lean forwards a little while in the Rift and hit key 5 on the numpad. I then just sit back again and this puts me further back in the cockpit. This works for all directions, so just experiment with it. But also read this link about snap views. There is also a Mod called the Neck mod that can place you where you should really be in a seat, but this is a beta and I'm not sure it works with this. I'll try to find the link for it. Just make sure you know how to uninstall mods though, because this might give you problems with updates to 1.5. You can get a program that allows you to install Mods and uninstall them easily, but I cant think whats its called at the moment. I'd have to look when I'm at home. Here it is >>http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96116 >>>>http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Snap_views
  10. @mtbikergt78 - This is what the Wags said last week in the DK2 thread. This is why they are having problems, but these might soon be fixed.
  11. Well it is functioning much better if you compare it with the old build. Unfortunately, VR has come at a time when we need much better hardware to run it. That's why we will only see a low res display when it's introduced next year. I think we will have to wait for the Geforce Pascal cards to arrive before we really start to move forward with VR. There was talk of Nvidia bringing out a driver that would allow 2 cards in Sli to run a screen each for VR, but I've heard no more about that. Anyways, it's early days and ED can only work with what they've got.
  12. It doesn't need to be at that stage yet because CV1 VR isn't even out yet. I'll be glad just to do free flight or now, minus the crashes obviously. I can get in at times and have a good flight now, but it will be much better when I don't crash on the load screen. They have fixed this with update 3 though, so not long to wait.
  13. Nornal release day for patches? Does anyone know what day patches are usually released on? I'm eagerly awaiting the patch that will fix the Oculus Rift crashes because the Devs have said this is fixed in update 3. That was over a week ago though and I've been checking for the patch most days since then. Are they usually released on a Friday or any day of the week?
  14. Right CTRL & Pause Break key.
  15. I have an X52 Saitek that is still going strong today. I've had to send my Warthog Hotas back after only 6 months due to a faulty switch on the throttle control. I was pretty sick I paid over £350 for a Hotas only for it to go faulty after 6 months.
  16. When are we due the patch that Wags said would fix the DK2 crashes? I think they mentioned update3 had fixed them, but when is this due out?
  17. @hansangb- I think the changes are subtle. I can see the gauges clearer then I could before even making out what some of the digits are in the HUD of the A10C. Choosing different number must make a difference because those number aren't there for no reason. I prefer to have my ipd set in the game the same as it is in my rift config utility.
  18. Changing the settings in DCS to the ipd settings I have in the DK2 Config utility has worked a treat for me. Take a look at this link rather then me explain it. This guy gave me my ipd setting to use in the DCS settings and I see things much clearer. Remember to save the original file though if you want to give it a go. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=150438
  19. That worked a treat for me it seemed to make things clearer. Thanks!
  20. Have you messed around changing this yourself? My ipd is 65.1mm but I have no idea what numbers to put in to DCS config. What number do you recon I should put in for that ipd? Thanks!
  21. I still think it gives you a good feel as to what it's like in a cockpit, regardless of making things look a bit smaller. I did find the A10C quite small though compared to the BlackShark and the World War 2 Aircraft. Does anyone know the reason for this? I wish there was a setting like in Flyinside FSX where you can actually adjust the size of the cockpit using keyboard keys, but the CV1 is going to get 2 screens and an adjuster on the device for ipd, so I'm not sure if that will help to increase the size of the cockpits. What will happen if I make my ipd smaller in the rift setting? Will it make the A10C cockpit look bigger I wonder?
  22. @hannibal - I am not a pilot, but since your question relates to just to been in the cockpit, I think I can answer that part. I have sat in a Mirage, Harrier and a Tornado and I think the DK2 gives you a good feel of what it's like inside a cockpit. I think a lot of people (included me at first) expect cockpits to be big and they aren't. They are small and quite narrow, but each jet is a different size and I speak only about the aircraft I've sat in. I got a shock when I saw the size of a Tornado compared to the Mirage and Harrier though. That thing is huge along with it's bombs. Edit: What I like about the DK2 is it gives you the feeling of height inside of the cockpit aswell. When I first touched down on the runway in DK2, I realized how the height from the cockpit to the ground felt more realistic. I couldn't tell you if the sense of speed was accurate though, because I never got the chance to fly them :)
  23. This is the same problem I was having when I started the thread. I don't want to have to setup all of my controls again to a new computer. The new comp is going to use a different USB id though and that's why a guy in this thread says to use the Renamer Tool. I just have to try and figure out how to use this tool though.
  24. A message to Wags if they are reading this. I'm just wondering if there is way that would allow you to move the crosshair back and fourth in the Rift? At the moment it's stationary even when you lean forwards. I was thinking maybe using he mouse wheel to give you a back and fourth movement? Not sure this can be done though, so I'm just asking if you read this.
  25. Oh, my bad, I didn't see that
